Eureka seveN: Red Horizon
With the final days of this planet fast approaching, mankind is pushed to the limits of existence. People are growing tired of living. The military continues to put strain on their people and planet by restraining them behind closed doors. They hide the truth, letting their race suffer under the pressure of living in a world where there is no hope. In this place, there are very few that know what the truth is, and even fewer who will stand up and fight to bring this truth to the people. The military calls them rebels. The people call them lunatics. Someday, they may be known as heroes.
Renton has run away from it all, and the Gekko has sent two close friends to Del Cielo to escort a shipment on board a ship known as the Rehk with the 808 and the 909. Another mission, another day. Or at least, it should have been. They should have seen it coming by now, but they did not.
Once in awhile, one instant will change the course of history. As they go on, secrets kept hidden will come to light.
Renton and Eureka aren't the only children fighting before their time.
The Gekko aren't the only adults who know the truth.
Anemone wasn't always alone.
And the rivers of blood run deeper than anyone would have imagined.
This is the story that was never told. This is the Red Horizon.

Chapter 01: Mission Del Cielo
It was surreal, in a way. High trapar density, blue skies, and no sign if the dark, bird-like shapes of the UF squadron ships that usually moved along underneath the clouds every day blocking out the sun. Not the sort of day when most people near the ruined city would take chances. This sort of peaceful, quiet afternoon was something only dreamed about in recent times. And yet, today was the day that risks were being taken left and right.
On a lonely stretch of road near the outskirts of the city, a roaring engine sounded it's charge. The rider held tight to the handles. In his heart, he knew no good could come from this day. Tolly Marcius had been laying low in the town of Del Ceilos for over three weeks now. And other than the regular night bombardments from the military, no one had approached the ruins of this once great city in a long, long while. It was becoming eerily quiet, like the calm before the storm.
Today that had changed. The radar in the facility Tolly worked in had picked up the faint signals of unidentified ships approaching on the main trapar line around the city, which meant that the escorts he had called for were finally dropping in. It was unknown how many would be coming, but one thing was for sure. Ciudades del Cielo was in for visitors.
Arriving at the edge of town he slowed the blue motorcycle and came to a stop. Turning on his comm he tried radioing the incoming ships. They were still to far off to reach.
"Still early. Nothing to do now, but wait."
Realizing it would be awhile before the group arrived, Tolly reached into the back compartment of the motorcycle and pulled out his Ref board.
"Might as well get some waves in before they get here."
Hoping on the board he skimmed the asphalt of an abandoned runway darting up and down he practiced a few moves and watched the trapar flare out behind him.
------------------
As time passed by, two signals bleeped closer on the radar scanner, which the blue-haired man was undoubtedly not watching. One who was well versed in the ways of the world might recognize the two LFO models that steered in slowly towards the city, green trapar flails forming lines through the sky. They were known only as the 808 and the 909, and one even more versed might have recognized that these two were associated with the renegade group the military sought so hard to capture, the Gekko State.
Today though, these two machines of war were being controlled by two young recruits, not the usual experienced boarders that used them more often. The truth behind this was that the crew of the Gekko were far too busy with the recent disappearance of their teammate Renton Thurston to take on this "charity" mission, and therefore had sent two young affiliates in their stead. While this may have appeared to be a rather risky maneuver, it was understood that the two teenagers sent out to Del Cielo that day were some of the rebel group's most trusted allies.
As the city grew nearer, the first, the stand-in pilot of the 909, looked up, directing her attention to the scene below. She was a young girl, only in her mid-teens, with short black hair going every which way and cautious blue eyes. She wore simply a baggy black t-shirt and black jeans. Strapped to her side was a pistol, the only thing that distinguished her from an ordinary civilian. Happy to be at their destination at last, this girl sent a transmission to her friend in the 808.
"Arek, look...we're here..." she said, looking out over the console of her LFO. This place seemed so different compared to what she'd thought it would be. A little more....peaceful. From what was given in the briefing, she was under the impression that this city would be a raging battleground of firepower and bomb explosions. Instead, she was greeted with a silent, ghostly scene, devoid of almost any life at all.
Her partner, a slightly older boy with shaggy blonde hair, glanced over at the image that appeared on his screen when she spoke, smiling ever so slightly. He was a strange one, dressed in all white. From the loosely fitting hat on his head, to the plain t-shirt and baggy pants he had on, it was all a blue-tinted white. His appearence suggested that he was the more laid-back of the two, but no one could be certain whether or not this was actually the case.
The boy, Arek, responded quickly to the transmission. He was more cautious about their situation than the girl, considering he didn't want anyone to be hurt. "Alright Nic, approach cautiously. If you sense anything out of the ordinary, tell me and we'll turn around... or fight."
"Mmmhmm." With that warning, the girl known as Nicole slowed down and did just as she was told; watched for anything suspicious. Peaceful as it was, this was still the infamous Del Cielo.
At the edge of the town an abandoned runway sat unused, in plain view of the two LFOs as they made their approach on the city. The flare of trapar could be seen at a distance, and the Nic caught sight of it easily as she surveyed the area. "Hey Arek look at that...are those trapar trails...? It looks like a ref boarder. Is he the guy we're supposed to meet?"
"Yeah, I think so." came her reply "Set down slowly. We still don't know this guy."
On the ground, looking up towards the ships, Tolly headed back to his motorcycle. "I guess they're close enough by now" he thought. As he rode, he flared out as much trapar as he could, just to be showy as he was that sort of man. When he reached the cycle he hopped off and grabbed a bottle of water from the bag sitting on the ground next to his machine.
Nic was the first to land. Being the exceptional pilot she was, setting down the 909 on the paved concrete surface below them was simple. But still, the girl waited for Arek to land to before getting out, just to avoid being the first to speak to this man. She was never comfortable with other people, and she counted on her teammate to start them off.
Arek came in kind of rough. That was always a problem he had: landing. It never damaged the LFO, just... shook him up. After righting himself from the jumbled mess that ensued when the 808's board met land, he opened the cockpit and slid his headset down around his neck.
