Ron Weasley sat and looked around. It was a fine summer day outdoors and the bird were singing, bees buzing, and other summery things were going on. But he was not happy. For with Summer came THAT time of year. The time where Kotatsu habitually decided to take advantage of the good weather and go outside. Whilst she was outside, she seized another advantage, and that was to practice painting. She was having Ron pose for her right now. In a sweater. "No one wears a sweater in the summer!" he complained. "I look like a loony!" Kotatsu looked up and whined. "But it's a picture of Fall!" she said. "How am I supposed to practice my artistic interpretation of fall based upon a summer day if you won't even dress right to help me envision it?" She too was wearing a sweater and a thick scarf, even more fall-like clothes than Ron was. He was surprised she hadn't fainted of the heat, but he was afraid if he asked she'd say she was visualizing it being cold so it didn't bother her.

((Hey, Kotatsu! ^^ Sorry for intruding, but I wondered if I'd be able to join. Imbri was okay with it, but I wanted to make sure it was fine with you too. If not, please just let me know and I'll get rid of this post. Ron's so funny! XD))

A girl's muffled giggles could be heard faintly from around the corner. A boy's voice could also be heard, speaking with an unparalleled enthusiasm that was sure to make anyone smile.

It was only when they came into view that they paused, the pirate girl smiling as she slowly understood the situation. The red-haired boy, however, tilted his head curiously, floating several feet above the ground and clothed in earthly tones of green.

Before Tymiko could stop him, Peter had flown up behind Imbri, hovering just over her shoulder to peer at her beautiful fall painting. Glancing back at the uneasy pirate girl, he grinned and waved at the freckled boy beoynd, who was obviously unhappy with his predicament.

Ron blushed a deep shade of red. Now there were people here to witness this ridiculousness! Kotatsu, noticing his blush, frowned. "Noooo, try to look more cold." she said insistently. "You shouldn't turn red in autumn." She considered this. "But then again, some people do get a ruddy complexion in the cold." Ron couldn't just let this pass. "How can I look cold if I'm embarrassed enough to drop dead?" he demanded. Kotatsu looked up alarmedly. "What on Earth could cause-" and then, looking around, saw she had company. She smiled delightedly. "Oh, hello!" Adressing Peter, she asked "Does it look properly seasonal? I'm afraid it's been a long time since I've painted any scenes of fall..."

((Nonsense, the more the merrier. X3))

((Yay! Thank you so much! ^^ Are we posting in any particular order?))

Tymiko had intended to ask Peter to leave Kotatsu alone, but at Ron's reaction, she couldn't help but laugh. She felt sorry for the young wizard, knowing only too well that her own boys would never be able to stand for such treatment.

Peter Pan, upon being addressed so friendly, beamed back. "Hey!" he greeted. "Nice picture. I don't know too much about fall, but it looks great to me! Um...but home come he has to be there?" the elven boy asked, pointing an index finger toward Ron. "He doesn't look like he likes it very much..."

The pirate girl, still giggling, came forward, shaking her head. "She's painting him, Peter. Sometimes it helps to look at something when you're painting it."

"Oh," the boy acknowledged. Still, he scratched his head, frowning. "But she painted everything else like fall, and it's not there for her to look at, so she must've used her imagination."

She nodded. "Probably. And it's imagination that makes the best artwork. But I'm sure she can't concentrate with us gawking and you gaping over her shoulder, so - "

"Then she can imagine him in those clothes," Peter inturrupted, thinking. "I can't see why he needs to be wearing them. She's a really good artist."

Sighing, Tymiko crouched down next to Kotatsu, seeing that Peter wasn't about to listen. "I'm so sorry," she apologized to the artist. "He's new here, and I'm still trying to show him around. His name is Peter, and mine's Tymiko. It's good to meet you, but please forgive us for being a bother."

She adopted a sorry smile. "It's just kind of difficult to be a guardian here if I'm as young as the kids I look after. And my eldest charge just grew, so I don't know how I'm ever going to get him to listen to me now..."

Glancing over at Peter, who had flown over to talk with Ron, she asked, "Your child wouldn't happen to know any magic, would he? I'm sorry if it's a strange question, but he just reminds me of a young witch I've met around here..."

Meanwhile, the impish boy floated before Ron, inspectng him. "Hi! How long have you been here?" he inqured, feeling sorry for the kid. His hair was even more red than Peter's, and now that he knew he had been sighted, his face was nearly just as deep a crimson.

"Don't worry," he told Ron, chuckling. "You don't look so bad. Just really uncomfortable. Why don't you come play?"

Kotatsu smiled and extended a hand to Tymiko. "My name's Kotatsu, Kotatsu Mikaboshi. And this is my charge, Ron Weasley. It's very nice to meet you." She laughed. "It's certainly difficult being a parent! But I've been told I act more like a child than Ron does, so I'm afraid I'm not very good at it." She smiled at Peter. "I'm glad you like it! I need Ron to pose in those clothes to get me to think Fall-ish thoughts. You see, that's why I'm dressed up like this too, to help me visualize fall. I certainly can't change the colour of the trees but clothing I can change." She sighed and looked over at Ron, still bright red with embarrassment. "But... I suppose you're free to go, Ron." Ron looked up, smiling disbelivingly. "Finally!" he said, taking off his sweater. There was a T-shirt underneath. "For now." added Kotatsu, making Ron roll his eyes. Ron looked over at Peter. "I'll come play." he agreed, glad to be getting away from his posing. "What shall we do?" Kotatsu watched him and put the painting aside, bottling up her paint tubes and wiping her brushes. "Oh, it's not very odd, but I'm suprised you could spot it." she said to Tymiko. "Yes, he does know magic, but only a little. He has yet to finish his schooling. Are there others who know magic around here? Ron never talked about any, and I was never sure whether he knew anyone or even if there was anyone who knew magic. I'm really very new at..." she waved her hand vaguely to encompass everything in general. "This."

((Oops! I'm sorry, I totally messed up. XP I meant to post Kotatsu instead of Imbri. So sorry! crying *goes back to edit*))

Smiling cheerfully in return, Tymiko shook the hand offered to her. "That's such a pretty name. A pleasure, Kotatsu. And Ron too, of course!" she added, waving at him. "I agree. Though I don't think I could ever see it as, um...parenting."

She laughed mirthfuly at Kotatsu's remark. "Really? Well that must be something then, huh? Same here, but I think I prefer being friends rather than a parent figure. Even if I can't always get them to listen to me, though, I have my methods." Her aqua blue eyes twinkled mischeviously. "But Ron seems to listen to you just fine, despite what he says. He seems very well behaved; especially as compared to my boys. I envy you, Kotatsu."

Peter turned to look back over his shoulder at Kotatsu. "Oh. That's a good idea," he said as she explained to him about the clothes. "But if I were wearing all that, I'd think of hot things, and then I'd think of summer." He still couldn't quite understand why one might want to feel hot when painting a cold season, but then they never really did have seasons in Neverland, so he didn't know all that much about it.

He grinned at Ron as the boy was allowed his freedom, if only for a little while. "Awesome!" he exclaimed as his new playmate removed his sweater. "Hmm...I don't know. I still don't really know my way around here. But how about we go explore? Er...if it's okay with them," he added, jabbing a thumb over his shoulder at the girl guardians.

"It's alright with me if you don't go alone, Peter," User ImageTymiko called. "But I don't know about Ron. That's for Kotatsu to decide." To Kotatsu, she smiled again, silently laughing at the restlessness of the boys while watching the rest of the painting equipment get put away.

She listened with interest at Kotatsu's acknowledgement of Ron's magic. "Spot it? Oh, well, I've been around a lot of magic as of late, so I guess I've learned to sense it somewhat," she explained. "But there are so many different kinds and I've yet to learn how to distinguish them. So...Ron takes magic classes, does he?" She blinked, fastinated. "That's amazing. Then he must be like those two other children Puck told me about...Minerva and Sirius..."

"Oh, well um, yes, I've seen quite a few children around here using magic," she told Kotatsu. "I know a little magic myself, which is the only way I can manage to get two especially stubborn kids of mine to listen to me - by threatening them with it. Unfortuntely, the only kind of magic I can use is elemental water magic, and I'm still learning the basics, so I can only do so much." She shrugged helplessly.

"The reason I suspected Ron was because about a year ago, my first charge, a fae called Puck, met a young witch named Minerva. They soon became fast friends and learned a lot of magic from each other. Later on, Puck told me about a wizard named Sirius, who supposedly knew the same type of magic as Minerva. They both used wands to direct it, and latin words. Ron's aura of magic just seems very similar to theirs," Tymiko commented. "But maybe I'm wrong. Does he have a wand?"

She grinned kindly at Kotatsu, tilting her head. "Don't worry. You'll get used to it in no time. Everyone around here is very friendly. And I'm sure Ron will make a lot of friends very quckly. It just takes some time toget used to it all, this parenting. But as for me?" The pirate girl winked. "I don't even try. I figure letting them explore and interact is a better way for them to learn than helping them every step of the way."

((That's okay. XD I was just a little confused.))

Kotatsu nodded. "I only feel like a parent sometimes." she agreed. "I don't know why Ron listens to a word I say though. I suppose it's because I don't often ask things of him?" But what she usually asked was often ridiculous, such as wearing autumn clothes in the summer. "I'd like to be a parent figure sometimes..." she said thoughtfully. "My mom was such an important part of my life and she was really eccentric too. She made life interesting for me."

Ron looked at Kotatsu, who waved him away. "Excellent!" he said enthusiastically. Then he thought a bit and added "Say... There aren't going to be... Spiders... in these woods, are there?" His enthusiasm dropped slightly, but he could handle a few spiders if it liberated him from being a tool to further Kotatsu's artistic muse. As long as they were small. And definitely not poisonous.

Kotatsu looked surprised. "You can use magic? That's wonderful!" she said. "I tried a book of magic tricks once, but I never really got the hang of it. I can do this though." She flipped a coin from her pocket and put her hand on it. When she lifted it up, it was gone. "Where's the penny?" she asked.

At Kotatsu's guess behind the reason for Ron's good behavior, Tymiko began giggling all over again. "That could be true. But I think you're doing great, judging by your relationship with each other. He seems to tolerate you as a mom, anyway."

She smiled at the mention of Kotatsu's mom. "She sounds like a very nice person," Tymiko said. "Oh, but I shouldn't let Peter catch me mentioning mothers - he thinks they're over-rated, but that's only because he can't remember his own." She whispered, smirking.

"But neither can I, so I don't really know how a mother is supposed to act. Neverland makes you forget things, I suppose, and I've spent way too much time there playing around to know how to be a parent. I'm sure you'll do fine, though."

The flying boy crowed joyously, about ready to lead the way, when Ron suddenly seemed hesitant. "Spiders?" he repeated. "Mm, I don't think so, but like I said, I only just got here. I haven't explored everything yet."

Noticing the considerable change in the young wizard's mood, Peter swooped down, grinning and patting him once on the back. "Hey, cheer up! I'm sure they wouldn't let us go if there was something we couldn't handle. Want me to lead?"

He stuck out his chest confidently and held up his dagger, so that it glinted in the sunlight. "I can protect us if we need it. But I'm sure we'll be okay. Let's go! Quick, before the girls change their minds!" He nodded toward them anxiously, lowering his voice. "They're prone to do that, you know."

Tymiko felt her face flush at the compliment. "It has its advantages," she admitted, pulling a ribbon of water out from the moisture of the air to demonstrate. "But it's not all that wonderful. Unlike Ron's and Peter's magic, mine takes a lot of physical energy, so I can't often do a whole lot of anything at a time. On top of that, it's not able to be taught in any particular manner, so I have to sort of experiment and develop it on my own. Like turning water into ice, or maniulating it into shapes."

She let the ribbon swirl about her shoulders, gradually taking shape as a miniature sea serpant. "Honestly, sometimes I wish I could use the sort of magic with wands and useful things. Being an elemental is very limiting, because suppose you could only use fire, water could put it out easily. I'm just lucky my element isn't as easily deafeated. But then, it's not very effective in dangerous situations either. More of a defence, though I'm trying to learn how to use it as an offence."

Tymiko let the ribbon of water fall and splash at her feet. "I'm sorry. I'm ranting." She scratched the back of her neck, embarressed. Looking up, she smiled warmly at Kotatsu's masterful display.

"Wow!" she exclaimed with a good-natured laugh. "I wish I could do that! Where'd it go?" As a girl who appeared no older than 12 or 13, Tymiko was as easily amused as a 3-year-old.

Kotatsu nodded. "I wouldn't call my mother especially nice... just eccentric. For instance, she named me with an electronic dictionary. Anyway, life was never, ever dull." Hearing about Neverland, she shrugged. "Really, sometimes I think mothers are overrated too! Just someone to boss little children around, you know?" She smiled at Tymiko. "Thank you. I... I really would like to think that Ron likes to have me as a mom, despite his grumbles."

Ron wasn't so sure Kotatsu wouldn't let him go somewhere dangerous, but he nodded slowly. "I'll be okay." he said, looking slightly pale but smiling. "If any spiders come, we'll show them what for." He nodded at Peter, "Sure, you can lead." Puffing out his chest, he struck aan adventurous pose. "Let's go!" he said.

Kotatsu looked in wonder as Tymiko did her magic. "Wow!" she said. "You may not think it's very useful, but it's certainly beautiful to watch." As she watched Tymiko shape it into a dragon, she said "Maybe you could pose for one of my paintings someday." Kotatsu loved magic and always loved people putting theirs on display. It amazed her how anyone could do things like that! "The penny's right here, silly!" she exclaimed, pulling it from behind Tymiko's ear.
