Light Yagami
The main character (Light Yagami) finds a note book that says "Death Note" on it. He finds out that you can kill someone simply by writing there name in the book. The chosen person will die in 40 seconds. Unless you mention how he/she dies, then they die in 6 minuets and 40 seconds. If no method of death is mentioned the victim dies of a simple, but sudden heart attack.
Light Yagami then goes on a killing spree, killing any criminal he can find. He starts to think that he can change the world with this note book. He then gets a twisted idea that he can become a god in the new world he tries to create. killing all that are unjustly in there actions. However when criminals start dropping dead one by one, the authorities send the legendary detective L to track down the killer.
But this book isn’t of this world, a Death God named Ryuk drops the book intentionally, hoping the chaos will entertain him. And Light is providing the kind of fun Ryuk is looking for.
But there’s a price to pay when it comes to a book this good. When the book is filled with names, the last name is the one in possession of the book, and the book then returns to its original owner, Ryuk.
