This one has a lot more.. wordage than my other tutorials, I hope it's not too crowded and incoherent. XD; (And yeah.. my scanner cut stuff off even though it was ON THE SCAN BED.. but I think it's still understandable.) But profiles are so subtle and rely on so many smaller measurements, rather than a couple simple rules like some other things. (At least that's what I've found so far.)

Profiles vary a LOT from person to person. Some of these "rules" won't apply to everyone... these rules apply best to young, attractive characters, because that's usually the kind you find in anime. ^__~

While most of the tutorial helped, I can't help but mention... I've used the 'egg shaped' head for a while, before, and it never quite gave the effect that I was looking for. Once I switched to a more circular shape, I found it ever so much easier to get the things I wanted out of my art.

Does this mean I'm simply drawing incorrectly, or does the shape really just depend on the style?

I have to agree with Colbalt. The egg shape would always throw me off, but using a more circular shape, I've been able to do what I want... Pretty much. My art is still not all that great, but the egg shape just really bothers me.

OMG Thank you so much! This tutorial really comes in handy and it is quick refresher. I have been practicing drawing faces; front and profile. But I always feel there is something wrong. This guide is like a little checklist.

I do intend to use it. Thank you so much and keep up the good work.

Do you know if there is a guide for front faces similar to this?

wow..you raw really good! o//o... this helps, but my drawings aren't that realistic >.< the egg-shape thing hrew me off majorly... plus my faces are more like the style of pokemo fron side view..where the lips don't do that..I ish not that great at frawing, but this shall improve hat! rolleyes
