I'm going to post a dragon poem I wrote a while back while I was bored in English class. Feel free to post feedback and/or your own poems! (P.S - I was only 14 when I wrote this! =P)

Dragon Bloodlust I spread out my large, leathery wings My tail thrashing wildly as I turn my head to the darkened sky. I ponder the wonders nightfall brings As I lay listening, waiting for the wolves cry.
I dive off the mountain top and take flight. My scales shining with radience and power Against the rays of a full moon's light. At the sight of me, all the creatures cower.
I fly over the city, Such a beautiful sight. But I think, "What a pity, I shall be ruining their night!"
As I circled, I took in a deep breath And I let out a deafening roar. Letting all below know, their death Will come without flaw!
I fold my wings and plummet to the ground. The Elves see me coming and all dash about, And the sound of their screams make my blood pound! So I take another breath, deep through my snout.
I shook my head and blew out a flame. The volcanic heat burnt all in its path while the souls of the Elves screamed "You, we will blame!". The words echoing in my ear, with their evil laugh.
As the moon hung low, I spread my wings and took flight. I looked back to their city, now alight With the wrath of my angry, burning flame.. And so I turned away and my always building bloodlust was, for now, tame.

How do I get inspired? Hmmm.. Well, most of the times it just comes to my mind and I work from my pure ideas. Other times I am inspired by certain events or pictures. This one was inspired by a drawing I had done not long before it.. If I stilll had it, I'de post it for you all to see.. but unfortunatly I gave it to a good friend of mine whom I was visiting as a presant.. and I haven't seen him since *sniffles* Well, I'm not much of a poet anyway. But I have a natural touch for art and poetry is art ^^ Hehe

i really like writing poems. heres one that i just made up right now. ------------------------------------------------------ The shadowy night creeps closer, closer, And the serpent watches with glowing eyes For the time when she can roam free again Against the star-covered nightly skies.
Fire dances in her fiery being As she anticipates her nightly freeing From her cave, where she hides, Away from human’s prying eyes.
The day falls. The dark has arrived. The serpent stretches, looks, and sighs. Suddenly she leaps onto the wind And her silver wings flap and her mouth grins.
No longer is she a tired prisoner As she flies along, feeling her Inner fire leap as her freedom grows And she lets out the flame in a fiery rose.
The night creeps along as the dragon dances Across the sky in loops and lances. Then the night turns pink as dawn comes along To grace the day in light and birdsong.
The silver dragon flies back home To the cave, where she makes her lone Bed of gold, rings and jewels To sleep upon. She thinks and feels.
As she lowers her head, the dragon hums, Regretful that the dawn must come. She falls asleep, just to wait for The next night, to play as before. ------------------------------------------- do u like it? and im only 11! redface

I wrote this while thinking of a song for my Ocardian Chronicles story. I liked it.
"The Last Dragon"
The moon doth shine on scales so bright As this great beast takes to flight A roar to shake the mountain peaks Beautiful treasure is what he seeks His talons rake the land so fair His wings beat rents in the air As many try to put him down His eyes lament of what he has found Bleached bones of those he once knew Impaled and killed by a knightly crew His angry blast, of smoky flame We all know who is to blame It does no good, they still come As whizzing spears leave a throbbing hum As they bury themselves so deep Into a broken heart so sweet He sighs as he falls to the ground A cheering chrous goes all around For man has raised a hearty flagon To the death of the very last dragon.
It is sad, and yet...

You've all written really good poems! biggrin I wrote this when I was only 11, too! xd Silver Moon Dragons, dragons, Fill up the sky. Silver dragons With amber eyes. Wings like water, Silent as cats. You're one with the wind. You're big silver bats. The sky is your limit. I'm mystefied. Beware the Eye of the Moon. Teeth so sharp, yet heart so great. Cry to the sky like a loon. Hearts of gold and scales of silver. Roar so great, make mountains quiver. Dragons, dragons, fill up the ky. With bright blue flames, I say goodbye... Well, what do ya' think? biggrin

everybody's pretty good!(of course) i like writing poems, as i said before, so here's a couple more whee (hey it rhymes!) --------------------------------------------------- (well, actually my friend wrote this one with my help sweatdrop ) Swift and silent as a dragon through the air we fly, forever we shall roam the sky until the day we die. ----------- (this one i wrote blaugh ) A feral roar rips through the dark And echoes within the halls. Followed by a grisly bark And a rattle of chains and bars. Two blood red eyes peer at the locked door Hoping for release. A fiery breath spurts out for The dragon aches for a feast Made of the humans that have trapped it And chained it without remorse. It snarls with teeth that would rip That door open with force. A rusty chain suddenly snaps As the dragon thrashes with hunger. Its eyes widen, and the beast taps The bars. Its grin becomes longer. The cage rips apart! The beast is freed! No longer trapped within, The beast bounds out, rips the door without heed, And sets out with a big grin To ensure “liberty” And “fairness” To the doomed humans within. ----------------------------- During a dragon's day Or a dragon's night, Let us be within dragon's sight Whether it is day Or it is night, Let us always reunite. --------------------------- domokun domokun domokun domokun domokun domokun domokun domokun domokun domokun domokun domokun domokun domokun domokun domokun domokun domokun domokun domokun domokun domokun domokun domokun domokun domokun domokun domokun domokun domokun sweatdrop sweatdrop sweatdrop sweatdrop sweatdrop sweatdrop sweatdrop sweatdrop sweatdrop sweatdrop sweatdrop sweatdrop sweatdrop sweatdrop sweatdrop sweatdrop sweatdrop sweatdrop sweatdrop sweatdrop sweatdrop sweatdrop sweatdrop sweatdrop sweatdrop

HEY! this one's NOT MINE! But I love it!
Dragons
Beneath soft looks the evil burns, And slowly round the old wheel turns. The same mistakes the same old pride, The priceless armor cast aside The secret enemy is here. It hides in darkness fools beware! For day by day its power grows And when at last its face it shows, Then past and present tales will meet The evil circle is complete
its...kinda...about dragons, I guess. The title says it is!

Here's a Hiaku I made for this post. Came up with it in about 2 minutes. Tell me what you think:
Flying through the mist. On wings made of silky gold. Here be the dragons.
Short and a little sucky but I think it works for this. I'm not good at poems anyway.

I write many poems but none of them are about dragons, yet. Most of them are about flying
