i usually listen to music, but i'm not sure that i'd consider it inspiration. i'd say that i'm inspired by small things--birds, rusty doors, random folks--just because.
oh, and dreams!

I rarely draw anything for my own interests, so the work I do is based on my college projects. to get inspiration we have to look at other artists works, and I often go and take photographs of things and places related to what I'm studying.

i think there's another thread about inspirations....
but yeah. i look at other people's art and see what they've been doing. i talk to my art pals a lot, swapping ideas and such. and read a lot.

I flick through a David Bomberg book, then I have to go out and draw more, because it shows me what I've got o live up to.

Dirty_sox3 i think there's another thread about inspirations.... but yeah. i look at other people's art and see what they've been doing. i talk to my art pals a lot, swapping ideas and such. and read a lot. i thought so too, but it's way back in january and talks more about lack of inspiration. meh. looking at other people's art is something i don't do very often to get inspiration. i think i'm afraid i'll copy it sweatdrop

Depending upon how "lacking" I'm feeling, I sometimes just go take a shower. We have this marbley pattern on the walls of the shower that I imagine shapes in. I've come up with some pretty cool looking images in my head. Then I try to figure out how I would draw them.
Or, I just take a break for a while. Since I don't have to draw, I can do that for as long as I want. During that time, I watch animated shows, look at the pictures on my hard drive, read books, etc. Anything and everything to get my imagination operating at top speed again.
I most often get into a rut after I've done a really good (IMO) picture. So, I use that picture as inspiration. I look at the picture, try to remember what I did to make that picture, retrace the strokes, etc. It's a pain in the butt when my ability to draw seems to go out the door. xd

i find inspiration everywhere personally, the line of a song or a scene in a book... anything. you can look to unusual things (like the lunar eclipse i saw last night) or something perfectly ordinary and try to see it in a completly new way
