This is an RP between myself and Swirly... Enjoy!
Tashika slipped out of her teepee, smiling as Sibalto jumped up to meet her. She watched the dappled stallion prance up from the river's edge where he had been playing, snorting like a wild thing. His tack was carefully polished and as she set it down, his eyes gleamed. Sibalto knew they were out to do some adventuring...
Offering him an apple she brushed him quickly then rescued the tack, outfitting him with efficient, graceful movements. Springing into the saddle she clicked to him happily, urging him to a perky canter.
With the movement, her ghostly white hair flowed down over her back and the stallions haunches, mingling with his tail. Her white deerskin breeches and top were creamy dark against her marble skin, but her amethyst eyes glinted with joy.
Sibalto pranced along, the Spirit-Haired woman a light presence on his back. He was eager to run, to see the forest... To see anything and everything he could. Tashika had no chores to be done today, and so they would go riding farther than they ever had been before... Perhaps even to the feet of the distant mountains...
Taking her cue, he leapt into a gallop as they entered an open valley. The grass flowed beneath his hooves and the wind whipped his mane, drawing a joyous whinny from him and a whoop from his rider.
"Faster!" She shouted against the wind, and he was all too happy to obey.. This was freedom!

Aely had found the stange marking-covered wandering quite aimlessly around her home not too long ago. His body was a smooth dappled cream and in her own mind one of the softest and longest coats she had ever felt. The rich satiny texture seemed at odds with the markings that were grown into the fur overtop. Rusted red colored lines made intricate patterns and markings over him in a formation that sometimes made her eyes blurr together. At least he was truly a sweetheart. Most, okay all, of her other Soquilis refused to allow her close enough for more than the occasional pat or a rub-down when the weather required it... Harij was different. Today she had tried to jump up on his back and surprisingly she hadn't found herself thrown on her back on the ground. Actually, he had propped a foot up and sighed as if it was just part of life to have a two-legger astride.
His own oppinion on being ridden varied from Aely's, but why would he injure her for wanting to ride him? Some others were too impudent to allow a "two-legger" on them, Harij figured that she gave him shelter what was a quick whirl around a meadow? Shaking out his braided mane and picking up a leg hesitantly, Harij began to test the girl's riding ability with a slow circling around the meadow.

"Shhhh..." Tashika giggled as she eased Sibalto to a halt. "Stop that!"
He wiggled and jigged, mouthing the bit and stomping and arching his neck.. It was all sillyness, because he wanted to keep running... But it made it rather hard for her to stay astride if he kept hopping around like a fool of a frog!
"Sibalto!" She muttered, listening to the sound of another's hooves...
The stallion froze, listening.. Another horse, a stallion, nearby... A Kiwani? It smelled like a twolegger, but neither the human.. Nor the stallion were friends of his... He tilted his ears, then stepped forward.. Why not explore?

Aely kept in stride with Harij's movements. Mother other Soquilis wouldn't let another a two-legger on their back for anything. The cream-rust stallion seemed to enjoy the work of carrying her weight, and of course the food and attention that came with living in the teepee with her. Aely grinned and slid a hand down into her fur to pat at the stallions neck. The coat itself was incredibly long and fluffy by any other she had seen. "Good boy... This is wonderful." She wasn't too sure if the stallion knew what in the heck she was saying, but praising him and hoping couldn' thurt too much could it?
Harij picked up a more defensive pace, cantering towards the scent of two others and then turning in a way that would keep them from being able to turn approach his back. Lord, Aely had to be kept safe, and people were not his main enjoyment in life... Why couldn't today just be easy?

Sibalto stepped into the light and halted, pinning his ears as he met a defensive stallion. He hadn't been expecting to run into the other so soon, thinking they were further away... Yet here was the strangers, horse and human... If they tried to attack....
He pawed the ground and eyed the stallion, thinking it best to speak before asuming. Trying not to sound aggressive or irritable, he spoke first. "Greetings."
The word was short and clipped, but not unkind.
Tashika eyed the strangers in surprise, resting both hands on the stallion's neck, stroking the silken hide in an effort to sooth him. She had seen Soquili Stallions battle for the favor of mare, and it was a brutal test of strength... She had no wish for her beloved stallion to fight this stranger, but neither horse seemed happy to see the other. She glanced at the Kiwani and offered a timid smile, not recognizing the woman.

Harij held still and watched the stallion that was pinning his ears at him. He knew he’d hold his ground and fight if need be, but they were both just protecting their two-leggers as of yet. Nothing back about that. Prancing sideways the nerves of meeting another kept him from being able to stand still. The edgy feeling began to go down marginally when the other one managed to speak. Too bad that Harij himself wasn’t good at talking. Forming words wasn’t his forte, so with as relaxed a bob of head as could be managed, Harij dipped his head.

The prancing made her hair fall over one eye and she began to speak in careful soothing tones before calling out to the silvery-haired one, “Greetings! Our stallions don’t seem to be enjoying the company of each other yet.” She’d keep the tone light in hopes of making this turn into a friendship for both pairs.

Tashika smiled and nodded, carefull stroking down the length of Sibalto's neck. No, stallions had little love for each other's company... Sometimes they worked past it, sometimes they fought to test each other's strength and then established a truce...
That was something she wanted to avoid at all costs.
She slid down off the high silvery back, landing on the ground silently. Pacing up to his head she pulled the reins over and held them in one hand, stepping forward and letting Sib remain behind.
"Oh-siy-o." She offered to the stallion, then turned to the human. "Greetings, and no, it would seem they do not enjoy each other.. But perhaps, if we offer a hand in friendship, perhaps they will follow?"
She gave a shy smile.
Sibalto relaxed when Tashika slid to the ground, but pinned an ear when she stepped before him. The reins stretched between them as she stepped forward, but he was not quite comfortable enough to step forward. He bobbed his head to the other stallion, waiting for him to speak.

Aely tried not to feel too too nervous, but Harij was still new to her and it was rather odd for the stallion to be upset at the sight of another. Weren’t Soquilis usually friends with each other save for the more “dark” species of them? Hopefully these two wouldn’t really feel the need to fight with each other. Being friends would make both of the girl’s lives easier she figured. Aely watched cautiously as the girl slid down and did the same. Harij danced slightly when she got off as if it made him anstsy to lose the ability to protect her. Good, then he’d be less likely to do anything silly like attack or make an enemy. “I will hope that you are correct. My name is Aely.. And this is Harij.. I think he’s just shy around people in general save for me.”
Harij watched carefully then relaxed when the tone of her voice was calm. He may not be able to understand the words but he knew when they were spoken in fear or anger. The other, the stallion, seemed to be waiting for something so Harij gathered up his ability to talk to others and croaked out, “I am Harij.” That seemed to be enough for now.

Watching the other Kiwani slide down from her horse, Tashika noted his lack of tack and packs. Well, they couldn't be from too far then, for if they were traveling long distances she guessed they would have provisions.. Well maybe she would make a friend with someone who she could visit from time to time!
Tashika smiled and nodded. "Well met Aely and Harij, I am Tashika and this is my stallion Sibalto... I apologize for our faintly standoffish nature, but you surprised us both."
She colored faintly in embrarrament. "Do you often roam through this part of the forest?"
Sibalto bobbed his head in a greeting and stepped to Tashika's side.
"I am Sibalto." He rumbled back at the stranger, beginning to think they would actually make peace. "I am sorry for startling you."

((Thank you! I love both of my babies!)) Aely’s eyes drew over the saddle and bridle on the stallion with a bit of fascination, did the girl travel a lot or was her ability to seat the stallion lacking? Not that she was a bad rider, some just inherently tended to fall off more often than now. Harij’s gait was so smooth that rarely did she worry that she’d be knocked off of him. Or she was from far away? What would bring her to this place? “Apology accepted and returned… Harij is my new stallion and the only one that has taken to me riding him. We were just getting a feel for it this past week.. I believe he may have become protective of me, hence the behavior.” She tried to explain why Harij was as he was, some of the others in teepees near hers thought him to be weird because of his attachment, “No.. well.. Yes.. Well maybe.. He is new to me so I don’t know as of yet what we often do.. And you?”
Harij did the same, picking up his feet and prancing to stand next to Aely with his neck arched and a prancing look of almost pride in who was his two legger, “I am sorry for startling you as well.” There, would he not have to get into a rip-roaring fight now? Hopefully so…

Tashika considered the stallion, noting he seemed to relax as Sibalto did... She reached out and stroked her horse's neck, smiling faintly. This could turn to be a nice friendship, if they would all relax and let it be.
"Well, he is a fine thing." She said softly. "Sibalto and I roam all sorts of places... We've not been here for some time, but since we decided to go on a long ride today..."
She tapped on the saddle. "It brought us through here, and its been a pleasant ride."
Sibalto nuzzled his two-legger and considered the pair, smiling faintly.
"Lovely day." He offered blandly. "A fine day for a race, don't you think?"

Aely relaxed a bit more when Harij didn’t seem to mind the attention that he was receiving from Tashika. He’d been more than a bit of a surprise to her and learning the proper way to treat a two-legger friendly Soquili had been interesting. For all that it seemed he liked his oats and to go for runs, it worked for her… “Harij and I are just getting used to each other as I said.. I do not know how fast as of yet he can do.” Her eyes moved over to the well-marked stallion and smiled. He had so very much fur, it was impossible to see how much muscle he really carried.
Harij bobbed his head again, “A race? I do not know as of yet if it is or isn’t a good day for that.” He had just been getting Aely used to him and it seemed like the little chit was liable to fall off of him if he so much as stumbled on a rock at a sedate walk. Perhaps he was the one disused to weight on him and the feeling of a human balancing.

"I'm sure he's in fine shape, and when you two are used to working as partners... I believe you'll be quite a team." Tashika offered with a smile. "Did you ever consider a blanket to help you get a bit of a grip on his back? Practicing riding in water is also a very good way to try..."
She was trying to be helpful...
Sibalto shrugged and glanced around. "The breeze is fine, the day is bright and warm... No rain, no mud... Easy footing... Among the herd, I'm sure it would be a fine day for a run... As for a race with humans, I'm sure it would depend on the human..."
He nosed Tashika playfully...

Aely was sure the girl was right also, but being careful not to abuse their new friendship also came into play when it came to riding and how fast they could go. “A blanket? That is a possibility, I just wonder how he would talk to that as well.” Now riding in water would be interesting.. As Harij preferred to just play and muck around in water. She had watched him earlier and he’d splashed like an over-sized fish.
Harij simply looked over at Aely instead of nudging her. The body language she was giving off was relaxed but still a bit nervous to him. Perhaps she was just not used to making friends either? Shaking his head again he eyed Sibalto, “I would not know.. As my herd consists of babies and tends to be scattered around..”

Glancing at the indian maiden, then the silver stallion that was nosing her over and over again, Tashika smiled. She just got an idea! Turning to Sibalto she ran down the stirrup irons, checked their length, and nodded. "How about Sib give you a go around the clearing? That way you can get the feel of a horse moving through something -like the blanket- and get a bit of practice out of it... Sib wouldn't mind.. He never does..."
Sibalto's ears perked at the stallion, even as he grumped inwardly... Why was it so hard to talk to this stallion? If they couldn't find some sort of safe topic to just mull over, then they would never relax, and surely their humans never would.
"Oh." He said softly, perking as his human stepped to his side and turned to watch her as she fidgeted with his tack, all the while talking to the other native.
