Friday: Day one
T shirt of the Day: Led Zepplin
I begin my day waking up at around 7 am after about 5 hours of sleep. Not feeling too groggy, I went to the restroom where I took my shower. After showering, I got dressed and tidied myself up. I started packing my things when Valentino arrived. I finished packing my things then we left, walking to the bus station. The bus arrived at about 8:20 Am, 20 minutes later than normal. we hoped on and made our way to the convention center. About 10 minutes later we arrived to the Convention center. A beautiful site to see. First official day of the convention. Friend Karl called up soon afterward to tell us that he was running late due to sleeping in and was on his way.
About a half hour he arrived along with his brother who was in cosplay as some character from Final Fantasy: Unlimited. We chewed the fat for the while looking for something to do. Nothing really started until Noon anyway, so we all just walked around, looking for pictures to take. Me and Val were waiting for the game room to open, Karl and his bro were waiting for the dealers room to open, both at noon.
So now for the first of many main reasons you guys are all reading through this thread:
COSPLAY!!!First off - Vash the Stampede with DONUTS!

Bridget and friends(None of which are from Guilty Gear)

Etna! Done quite well, I might add. One of my favorites from the con.

The cute Loli from Super Swing Golf

Sailor Scouts

After those initial pictures it was about 11 am and the line for the dealers room was starting to get quite lengthy, about maybe 20 - 30 feet long. So we hoped in and kinda waited in place, Karl being the only one who stayed in place the whole time. Here are some pictures while we waited.
More Guilty Gear Characters with Jack Sparrow!

At around this time it was noon so me and Val left to go play some games. We played some guitar hero 2 and then went to check out this guy who was just ******** nuts at DDR Super Nova. To the point where he used his knees to hit the arrows. I wish I got video of that. It was quite amazing.
So we were in the gaming room for about a half hour. Me and Val left to go check out the dealers room. To our suprise, The line was still there. We checked on Karl to see what was up. Turns out they pushed back the opening of the room to two in the afternoon, which pretty much ruin any plans for Karl that day, for he had to leave at 3 for graduation. We hung out dome more for a while to make him feel somewhat better. Me and Val had to leave before one to check into the hotel with the rest of the roomates. We got there about 10 minutes till and we waited. At about 1:04 I see the roomate I was looking for, the one from last year, Jeremey. We said Hi and caught up on old times. Turns out the rest of the group got in there at about 9 am. No biggie, we took our stuff and made our way to the suite. The other roomates were another guy named Jeff from last year and a new guy named Andrew, who is major WoW player, like top 60 mages WoW player.
View of Downtown San Jose from the room. Taken By Val.

We dropped our s**t off and made our way back to the dealers line. By that time it was about to officially open. Soon as two hit, we made our way in. My god there was so much stuff, I did not even know where to start. It was a 50,000 square foot room at least. I tried to look around to see what they had, but there was so much stuff and so many people I felt like I was about to have a panic attack. It was too cramped at some of the shops inside, like the Import Game shop, I had no comfort room to browse.
So I decided not do buy anything in the room that day, just for my saftey. Instead I decided to walk around and take pictures instead.
Say Objection one more ******** time! I dare you.

By 4, me and Val made our way to the AMV contest room. When we got there, there was few little seats left, so we kinda had to look for two. We managed to find some. The contest started soon shortly after. The first video wasn't a bad one. An FMA video done with the song "Mitternacht" by E Nomine. The wierd thing was, the footage looked like it wasn't deinterlaced, figureing it was probably some tech difficulties, I let it slide, because it wasn't that bad of a video.
Sadly, things went downhill from there. Video footage quailty became worse and worse as the contest went along, some of the footage was blantantly downloaded, because you can still see the "DivX" Logo on some of the frames. Some of the videos were obviously misplaced into the wrong Category (Haruhui does NOT Belong in the Action Category). There might as well not have been a comedy Category this year because there were almost none there, only 6 compared to the at least 13 videos in the other three categories.
At aroubnd 5:30 I got a call from two of my freinds that were arriving to the convention. They asked if I could meet up with them. I left Val, knowing I wasn't going to be missing much, telling him I would be back. In the pre reg pick up and registration lines, I met up with my friends, Eric and Brandon.
Eric as Spock

On the way back to the contest we saw some more cosplay.
Group Cosplay

When Me and the other dudes got back the video room, it was made obvious that I was not the only one who thought the AMV contest was a pile of s**t this year. Half the people in the room left. And they still hadn't shown my video. (By the way, I'm still working on uploading mine to the internet. Compressing it for internet Download has not been proving easy as of lately) The 36th video shown was mine, quite possible the shortest video in the convention, clocking in at 2 minutes and 24 seconds long. After my video was my biggest dissapointment of the con (other than Kindom Hearts, I'll get to that in a second). Other than my three friends rooting for me, I got no applause from the crowd, none. I swear I could hear someone coughing in the room. It was just sad.... That and the not one, not two, but three Kingdom Hearts videos that made it to finals. I'm still pissed off that Video game footage ripped poorly made it into the final round of an AMV contest (and that stupid KEyblade Wars trailor out of nowhere that just wasted time). I'm just going to stop talking about the AMV contest now, becuase I don't want this to become a rant. So lets post more cosplay instead!
biggrin Some Gothic Lolita for you

Strider

Nana

Sailor Moon I do beleive

Spock with Characters from Hellsing

Late at Night the swap meet was going on in the gaming room, I left to go check it out to see what they had. In there I picked up all 10 Volumes of Gundam Wing for 50 Dollars and a very well crafted I-No statue for 30 dollars. On the other side of the room I picked up End of Evangelion and Hellsing Ultimate Vol. 1 for 20 bucks. Not to mention I got some more cosplay photos as well.
Hahruhi (god damn I can't spell her name -_-)

There were more photos taken this day, namely with me in the photos, but they aren't really great. So I'll only post them if you guys really want to see them. And with that, I'm off for the night. I'll update the thread tomorrow.
