I'm reading Twilight for the second time (haha, only my second...what kind of fan am I? xD), and I was reading over the end of chapter 18 - The Hunt; I remember this confused me the first time too.
He turned to Alice. "Can Jasper handle this?" "Give him some credit, Edward. He's been doing very, very well, all things considered." "Can you handle this?" he asked. And graceful little Alice pulled back her lips in a horrific grimace and let loose with a guttural snarl that had me cowering against the seat it terror. Edward smiled at her. "But keep your opinions to yourself," he muttered suddenly.
Call me stupid, but I really don't understand what is going on in this part at all. o______o;; Anyone feel like explaining to me?

Actually, the only vampire in the Cullen family that Jasper hasn't been a vampire longer than is Carlisle. He's one the older vampires... he was an officer the American Civil War.
Anyway, Jasper has been resisting human blood for the shortest amount of time and that is why Edward is worried about sending Bella with him and Alice. And Alice happens to believe that Bella should be turned into a vampire and join them. That's what the "Keep your opinions to yourself." line means. My guess is that Alice was telling him what she thought through her thoughts. I hope that explains it.

Ah, yes, thank you! mrgreen I should have mentioned that it was the last line that was confusing me the most, but yes, I understand now. Thanks again. ^____^

Heh, that confused me for a second as well. For a minute there, I thought that Alice was saying something in "vampire" or whatever.
