The sun had barely risen over the edge of the horizon as a small, pastey skinned child dragged a rather large, metal tube along behind her. Grunting and groaning from the weight of it all, she frowned at the long trail the end of the tube was leaving in the dirt-covered road.

It was turning out to be more work than she had expected to make her ship. It didn't hurt that the man who worked at the parts store in Traverse Town had disappeared a few months back, or the fact that she hadn't seen Nova, who'd promised to help her build, in some time either. However, she was undeterred from her quest. She would get into space somehow, even if she had to do everything on her own!

She had made the plans, and was just working on the parts. Peering with pupiless eyes up towards the sun, she let the tube drop and slumped down on her bottom next to it.

Break time.

Reaching into her pocket she pulled out a small bag. Pulling the twist-tie off she reached in and pulled out a handful of yogurt covered raisins. Popping one into her mouth she smiled and leaned against the tube.

"Soon." she mumbled over the raisins still in her mouth.

Kisala had been wandering about rather aimlessly-- mostly hoping for a hint of something shiny. There were lots of shiny things at the Moonglade, but she wasn't particularly interested in them. She wanted to find treasure on her own, not just look at the shinies they already had.

So of course she noticed Asajj right away. She'd been scouting about for anything interesting, and she had to admit she'd never seen anyone like the other girl before.

"What are you doing?" she asked, peering at all the scraps of metal Asajj had gathered together.

Startled by the sound of the other voice, Asajj turned her head and peeked over at the other girl. Swallowing down the last of her raisins, she shoved the now empty bag back down deep into her pocket.

"Building a spaceship."

A grin broke out across her face, going practically from ear to ear. Stretching her arms up high she then pointed towards the sky. "I decided a long time ago I wanted to go flying. So I'm building a ship to do so."

She stopped for a moment, her hands coming back down as she placed a single finger to her lip in thought before dropping it to her side. "My name's Asajj, who're you?"

"Oooh!" Kisala was obviously impressed with her idea. She wouldn't mind flying about in space herself.

"That sounds like fun! I'm Kisala. Maybe I could help you!"

She wondered briefly if Asajj liked treasure as well. Then decided not to ask. Celes had been very unhappy when Kisala'd mentioned an interest in the pirates in the story she'd been reading, and she figured it would be better to keep it to herself.

"Nice to meet you Kisala!" Asajj squeaked, attempting to make her voice less growly sounding than it would normally. She'd found some people reacted poorly to her voice and did her best to make it more accomodating.

"Oh, that would be great Kisala. I'd love to have some help with this. It's been kind of hard doing it all by myself." she nodded.

"I have the plans all mapped up. The ship is going to be big enough to hold three people. But no more than that. I don't think I could get enough stuff for anymore." indeed, it had been pretty difficult to get all the stuff she already had.

"I have everything figured out and all marked down. Somewhere." she rubbed the back of her head, looking around before seeming to eyeball something.

"There it is." she wandered over slightly to the right, where a rolled up blue paper was sticking out between a couple of slabs of metal. Carefully pulling it loose, Asajj unrolled the plans and laid them out for Kisala to take a look at.

The plans were fairly simple, easy to read and easy to follow. For anyone with any sort of background in making vehicles of any sort, it certainly looked like it could work.

"There's just one thing missing still. I don't know what I could use to power it."

Kisala tilted her head thoughtfully,
"Well, if you need any more supplies, my grandfather sells lots of stuff in his store. Like, all kinds of stuff. And he'd probably get us whatever we needed if he doesn't have it in the store."

The old man did tend to spoil his grandchildren as much as possible. Probably to make up for not having his daughter when she was a child. Shiaree had been taken away when still quite young because of her abilities.

"As far as powering it...well, I don't know much about making stuff. Maybe I can ask my brother Boyue. He knows lots of stuff about machines."

Well, more about games. But games were machines. And he was really smart, too!

"Oh really? That would be a great help." Asajj nodded, sitting down and thumbing over the plans again quickly.

"Your brother knows about machines? Hmm. Well, if he could think of a way to power it, that'd be a big help because then we'd know what we would need and could start putting the rest together." she beamed.

"And then, we could go visiting outerspace!" a dream-addled haze seemed to cover the girl's eyes.

Oh yes, that would just be great. And with a friend now even!

Kisala nodded,
"I'll ask him when I go home later!" she was starting to get really excited herself. The idea of flying about in space was a really neat one.

She bent over to look at the plans,
"So...what do I need to do to help get this thing in the air?"

"Well, for the last few months I've been taking these pieces of metal and stuff and fixing them to fit together. I've got some tools and stuff and really all we need to do is put the pieces together like they are on the pictures here." she grinned.

"Kind of like a really big puzzle!" beaming, Asajj leaned in closely, as if she had some huge secret she had to tell or she'd burst.

"I have the frame started actually, would you like to see it?"

Kisala giggled, nodding at the other girl,
"Oooh sure! I'd love to!"

This was really exciting! With a space-ship, they could go anywhere! They could visit all the planets and find lots of shiny things and have a lot of fun! She wondered who they could bring along as the third person. Or, maybe they'd just use that space for shiny things! That'd be cool!

"Alright!" turning on her heels, she began to scamper off towards the piles of metal. Motioning with her hand for Kisala to follow, she rounded a corner to where there was a fair sized shed. It was out of the way enough that it wouldn't really be noticeable by anyone just passing by on the roads.

Stopping outside the door, she reached up, grabbing ahold of the latch and popping it open. Backing up as the doors swung open, a hazy must seeped out into the nearby area. As the light from outside stretched into the small shamble of a structure, several blue tarps could be seen strung together over a large form.

"Mom gave me this shed to play in. I decided to use it as my homebase." Asajj grinned, stating it in a matter-of-fact tone.

Moving forward, she reached the bottom of tarp and began to pull back on it. It took a bit but all the tarp fell to the ground and a fair sized frame could be seen. It was definitely large enough for three people. Three small people anyways. It was more like a spaceshuttle, than a spaceship. But to someone who'd never been, it was more than enough.

"Oooooh!" Kisala clapped her hands together in delight as the 'space-ship' was revealed,
"It's so pretty! This will be fantastic!" she beamed, reaching out to touch the frame oh-so-carefully.
