The greatest thing about this one is, for me, the contrast between confidence and paranoia personified.
Confidence is a large, badly dressed, overly loud American.
Paranoia is a small, neatly dressed, overly proper Brit.
They couldn't be more opposite!
Interesting how Americans come across in RD. Confidence and Cat are both American, at least judging from accents. (Also, Confidence resembles in part an American game show host, and one of the writers of RD told me once that Cat is meant to be an American-type character.
Cat and Confidence aren't exactly alike, but they share a self absorption and an interest in clothes/image, so I assume that's the British comedy stereotype of Americans. (Notice I said comedy stereotype. I know most Brits don't believe Americans are really that way!
