Secular music is fine. Honestly, it's a little ridiculous that people make such a fuss about it. Yes, I'd say that
some secular music is a little..iffy, but even then, you'd have to be a complete idiot to go out and start shooting and raping people just because some rapper wrote a song about it. Though I'm not sure why music with that sort of theme is so popular in the first place.
I'd have a very hard time getting through the day without my Pink Floyd and Radiohead.
That's what I thought. I could see not liking music that encourages obviously bad things but other than that I don't see anything wrong with it.
People always seem to argue "Oh, but secular music talks about such bad things!"
rolleyes Yeah, some of it does. And here's a novel idea: If you don't like it, don't listen to it! An overwhelmingly large amount of secular music, however, doesn't talk about "bad things" at all. Case in point, Pink Floyd's
Echoes.
Come on. Those are beautiful lyrics. No, Pink Floyd is not a Christian band by any means, but that doesn't mean that their music and lyrics aren't amazing, or that listening to them is osmehow going to turn me over to Satan.
