Loveless bit at her fathers tail, mad that they were walking back to meet 'the family'. "Daaad I don't waaant tooo." She moaned and tried pulling him to make his walking slower, but he didn't budge at all. She had spent such a nice morning with her father, that the thought of her brothers taking attention away made her blood boil. But, she was happy to return home to rest a bit, because it seemed that's what they were doing in the first place. She herself was kind of tired, so it might be nice to go relax.

Loveless always seemed to be nagging him for something, but most of the time he just chuckled to himself. "Come on come on, we are almost their silly." It was impossible to argue with her, so he usually just let her babble on to herself. He wanted to come home so he could see one of his sons, for Loveless always seemed to cling herself to him. Though, he loved the time he spent with his daughter, he worried that his sons and him didn't have a strong relationship. He wanted to teach them things about Pride, and make sure that they were set to understand life their own ways. "We are almost there." He looked at the familiar scenary suddenly, and saw Heartless and one of his sons in the distance.

Standing in the darkness, Heartless yawned lazily as she waited for Ariston and their daughter, Loveless. This experience was definitely an eye-opening one for her. At first it was more like, what the hell are these little things? Now, she was beginning to understand that they were her's and she created them. That was an insane thought to her, but as long as she was with Ariston, she was fine. After they had emerged from their baskets, she and Ariston had been separated for awhile, because they were both busy. But now, they had managed to find some time to meet up. She was a little anxious to see what her daughter was like, and she couldn't have been more proud of her son. He was everything that she liked and spending time with him was perfect for her.

Keiran wasn't sure what his mother was talking about, because he wasn't aware of any compassionate feelings towards his mother or any of his family actually. He didn't want to meet his sister, but he did want to meet his father that his mother talked so highly of. If Keiran approved of him, he could find himself actually wanted to spend more time with Ariston. It's not that he didn't like his mother, she was just... boring. He was already boring, so he needed someone else to entertain him. His glowing eyes gazed out into the landscape in front of him, and then he spotted the two. A pitch black female with similar eyes, and... his father. Blinking, he wasn't quite sure what to make of his father. This was probably the first time he really got to take a look at him since he emerged from the basket. Keiran wasn't sure if he was impressed or disappointed, but he shrugged and decided he would make that decision once they got a chance to talk. Keiran wasn't the type to judge a person based on appearances.

Lovless darted ahead of Ariston and came into the clearing where her mother and brother stood. "Hello Keir," She snickered, and wacked him with her tail playfully. "What have you been doing this morning?" Loveless didn't even look at her mother, she just kept her gaze on Keiran. Everything the other Kalonas had told her, made perfect sense now. She couldn't even look her mother in the eye, but she just remained abnoxious as usual. "Dad hurry up!" She giggled, and looked back and forth at the two boys.

Ariston finally appeared after Loveless, and he gave Heartless a kind nod. "Good afternoon, how are you feeling today?" He always asked that, especially since he had to make sure that she was doing alright. "I hope Keiran hasn't given you any trouble?" He grinned, and made a playful face at his son. He wasn't like their other son, who had mixes of gold and white, almost the spitting image of Ariston. He was more of a contrast, and Ariston found it very beautiful. "How are you my boy?" He didn't know his son well, so he was happy to finally spend some time with him. Keiran was a bit taller then Loveless, and Ariston found the little growth spurt very cute.

Loveless grinned at her dad, and finally brought her eyes to her mother. Since Ariston had scolded her for her cruel ways, she pretended to behave while he was behind her. "Hello mother," As she spoke, she lost her smile, and just allowed her yello eyes to look at her. She shook the feeling off, and looked at her brother again. "Have you been able to explore at all? There are a ton of different people around here!" Loveless had already learned quite a lot, since following her father around meant just that!

Keiran stared at his sister. She talked too much, but she was family and apparently that was important... or something of the sort. He would be civil, and right now, he was probably more fond of his silent mother then a talkative foal. "Nothing as usual. I see you've been up and about." Shrugging her off, he turned his attention to Ariston. "Hello father." Watching him quietly, "Of course I haven't been of any trouble silly." Keiran talked with a sort of nonchalant tone. He didn't talk to Ariston like a father, but more like an equal.

Heartless nodded to Ariston. "Fine, of course. And yourself? Keiran's been behaving quite well. How has Loveless been?" Staring down at her daughter, she looked... so much like Heartless, at first, it frightened her. But now she was used to it, so it didn't matter much. The little foals were just foals to her, but she had grown a sort of attachment to them. It was odd, since she never thought she'd share those feelings with anybody other then Ariston.

Again looking at Loveless, he answered, "I've explored. Everybody seems quite boring though. I haven't talked to anybody. Have you?" He had been tailing his mother, and since she didn't talk to anybody, he didn't either. It wasn't like he was going to approach anybody without his mother doing so first. He had spent the morning torturing some bugs and watching them die. His twisted nature was just beginning to appear.

Keiran was so boring, but it was ok. He had hung around their mother too much, Loveless wished that he could meet more of the Kalonas she met. That's probably why he was so quiet, he just needed to experience more. "Actually," she stopped her loud and obnoxious voice and crept closer to him, and lowered her tone so the parents wouldn't hear. "I have met many evil Soquili, even though dad told me to stay away." Her eyes glowed as she looked at him, and she felt dark with excitement. "They have been teaching me other things, and I think you would enjoy them with me." She and Keiran would have to have a private conversation about it, naturally, and Loveless figured that something like that would happen when they were finally older, and off on their own. She glanced at her mother, and then back at Keiran. "I hope you haven't been too bored with mother." She almost felt sorry for him, there was so much knowledge to learn, and Loveless had been sucking it up!

Ariston saw that Loveless and Keiran were deep in conversation, so he let them blabber to each other for a moment. It allowed him time to check up on Heartlesss. "So, are you able to understand everything that is going on?" He asked the question with a straight face, for he sometimes worried about how Heartless coped with things. "Isn't it great, we have such beautiful children you know." They were all so different, soooo different. Not only in appearances, but it seemed they all viewed life differently. Heartless seemed happier then usual, so he wondered how her reaction to the situation was. Ariston was excited himself, and hoped she too felt pleased with the results. "I can't eve imagine when they grow up, we are already raising such beautiful Kalona!"

"Nice for you." Rolling his eyes slightly, Keiran wasn't really too eager to learn about the world. Observing them from a distance was enough for him. He didn't want to get any closer to them. "But I'll have to pass. I'd prefer to stay with mother or father." After spending time with his mother, he saw things the way she did and he rather liked the way she saw things. You didn't need to interact with other soquili, just torture them from afar. That was a perfect life. "You should probably spend time with her instead of those other soquili." Giving her a rather disdainful look, Keiran wasn't sure what he thought about Loveless at the moment.

Returning her attention to Ariston, Heartless nodded slightly. "Yes, I think I am beginning to understand more and more as I spend more time with Keiran. It's odd, always having a little thing tagging along, but I rather like him." She gazed at Loveless for a second but only for a second. She had been around other soquili enough to know what they were feeling at the present moment, and she was not sensing good things from Loveless. But her daughter seemed to be more like her then she knew. "I'm glad that you're happy." The mare nodded solemnly, her lack of emotion hadn't changed since she had foals.

She cringed her mouth, and puffed her shoulders out at him. "You never care about anything I say at all, for once I was trying to be helpful." Ugh, what a jerk. Maybe he was more like her mother then she thought, and she flipped her nose in the air and stepped a few paces back. "When will you learn, brother." She narrowed her gaze and snarled at him. "The way you are living now, and will continue to live is weak, worthless, pathetic." Of course, there were a lot of Soquili that Loveless could give a crap about. But, the evil ones, she just couldn't keep herself away. No matter, if her brother wanted to be behind in what was truly important, she could honestly care less!

Before looking towards Heartless happily, Ariston turned to see Loveless acting up again. "Loveless," he said, calmly. "Cool down."
He didn't know how well she would listen, but he brought his gaze back on Heartless. It was good she was content, and liked Keiran. They seemed to be a good match, just as he and Loveless were, at first. Though, Loveless was drifting away from him, and he was losing hope for the family. "I just want our family to stay strong together," He looked at his two children, and then back at Heartless. "I am afraid we are all quite different." Beauty may have been bringing them together as a family, but for once Ariston wasn't content with that. Worries of the future struck his mind, but when glancing at Heartless, he felt better. He knew he would always be close with her, and that thair friendship would last as always. "I wish there was something I coud do, to patch our family together."
PostPosted: Sun May 27, 2007 8:44 pm

Gazing at his sister with emotionless eyes, Keiran shrugged. "It's not that, it's just that there are other ways of going about what you're doing now. Trust me, I'm fine and you know it. Don't think that you're better then I am." For a foal, Keiran seemed to keep his cool quite well, probably took after his mother. "Going about, talking with other kalona. How is that any better then what I'm doing? I'm not only listening to kalona, but everybody. Every soquili. The possibilities are limitless and you just go against what your father says." Even though they were kalona, Keiran put his father and mother's opinion much higher then any other.

"You worry too much Ariston." Heartless looked at Loveless with an odd fondness. "I think... everything will be okay. Don't worry about Loveless. She seems quite capable of taking care of herself." Shrugging like her son, Heartless was sure that everything would turn out fine. Even she knew that it was easy to manipulate foals, they were so naive and innocent. It was a low blow for other kalona to try and manipulate Loveless against her family, but she would learn. ... Or maybe Heartless was putting too much hope into this...

Loveless sighed, "I don't always go against what mom and dad say you know." She cringed, unhappy that he argued with her. "I love father, and he knows that. You have no idea to what you are talking about. You can ask him, he is proud of me." He had no right, questioning her sincerity to their father. "Jeez I can never say anything to you." She was frustrated and upset, and sad that he thought such horrible things about her. But, that was a reason she hated relationships, she just hated everything!

"Maybe I do.." He sighed, and nuzzled Heartless gently. "I think sometimes I worry for that exact reason, that she would be too fine on her own." He watched Loveless get upset, and made his way over to where Loveless and Keiran stood. "Hello kiddos." He patted each of them on their back, and stood in the middle of them, and looked at their reactions. "You know, family is an important thing. Brothers and sisters should always have each others backs. If one of you are ever in a problem, it is always nice to have someone close help." He nodded and smiled gently at his children, nuzzling them here and there.

Keiran noted how she only said father. Raising a brow, "Eh, only father? You're so loving." All puns intended. Still staring at her, he didn't hate her, but he sure wasn't very fond of Loveless right now. Keiran looked up at his father as he approached but said nothing. It wasn't like he was attempting to alienate her, but he didn't like what she was saying. What about mother? Was she just something to be disregarded? He didn't like that, not at all. Frowning, he feared that he might have done something wrong but he didn't ponder on it.

Heartless nodded at Ariston and looked over to the foals. "Yes very important. If you two ever need to talk, you really can talk to me or your father. It's important that we stick close to the family." It was odd that Heartless would speak so much, but this was her family. She felt... that it was okay to open up. It took so much getting used to. Hopefully, she knew what she was doing...

Before Loveless could snap at him, she calmed herself down, especially after the wise words her father and mother had said. "Sorry, Keiran, for being a brat." She looked at him, with a slightly pouted expression, but smiled gently after. "I want to understand you better, so I will try to calm myself when we are talking. I am still learning how to control how angry I am..." Her eyes trailed to the ground, and although she wasn't ashamed, she was just.. stuck up in feelings about it. It wasn't easy always hating everything, and she didn't want to not get along with her family.

Ariston nodded at what Heartless said, and smiled at Loveless' change of mood. "See, that wasn't so bad, now was it?" He nudged at his daughter, and looked at Keiran closely. "You know, you are the man of the family now too. That is a big responsibility, but I KNOW you can handle it my boy." He walked closer to him, as if giving him his own special advice. "I am so proud of you, you will become so strong." He let his purple eyes drift to his, and he grinned excitedly. He was surpised the Keiran handled himself so well against Loveless, for her temper was known to be out of control.
PostPosted: Mon May 28, 2007 8:02 am

Watching her carefully, Keiran was a little surprised that she didn't lash out at him more. But he didn't want to test his luck. He wouldn't say sorry though, no, because he was right. It wasn't like he liked saying he was wrong anyway. "Maybe someday I'll join you when you go out... Just to make sure you're safe." He added in that last part, because his pride seemed to be getting in the way at the moment. Oh how his father would be so proud of him right now. He turned his gaze up at his father, and again, he was beaming with joy. His father was actually proud of him. That was a great feeling...

Heartless nodded as the two seemed to concede to each other. She wasn't sure what to say at the moment. She still had trouble addressing her children as... well, her children. Heartless had so many things to learn. But she did want to learn one thing. "So, Loveless, what kind of soquili have you been meeting?"

Loveless turned to her mother, a bit suprised that she addressed her. "All different kinds," though, with many of the kinds she met, she could give a crap about. "But some of the crazier ones I have enjoyed." She was being honest, and in her meetings it hadn't JUST been Kalona. Red Pyramid wasn't a Kalona, but he fascinated Loveless despite his race. "Father and I had a horrible run-in wih a Skinwalker last night." She paused looking at her fathers eyes. "You both would have been proud of him, he was amazing against her."

Ariston stopped suddenly when he heard what Loveless said. "Yes but, that was quite a fright, wasn't it?" He never wanted to see his daughter dangling for her life again, and Ariston cringed at how angry he was last night. "But, it shows what dangers are ou in the forest, and there are quite a lot. You both needn't worry about run-ins with Kalonas, since they rarely would hurt another of their race." He paused, but then contiuned sternly. "But Skinwalkers, now that is something that both of you need to be careful of." He looked manly at Kerian, since Loveless had already run into one.
PostPosted: Mon May 28, 2007 8:53 am

Keiran listened intently to the conversation. His mother had taught him a lot about body language and how to listen to soquili speaking. It was getting easier and easier every time he tried. But he raised a brow as she was talking about a skinwalker. His mother had told him about them. She told him about the story when the village two-leggers were accusing the kalonas of being responsible for something they really didn't do. They gave kalonas a bad name.

Staring at her daughter, there might have been a twinge of emotion in her eyes, but it was gone in a flash. "What?" Heartless looked at Ariston; she didn't like the fact that her daughter could have died. Who knows what a skinwalker would have done. They are completely different then kalona. She gazed at Ariston with, almost, sad eyes. "You two must really be careful, Keiran and Loveless. You are still young, when you grow up, then you can do what you want." The kalona returned her attention to Ariston, still looking at him with those eyes. She didn't want to think that anybody would dare hurt her Ariston. If she was there... there would be no guessing what she might have done.

"We were careful, its just.. dad and I got unlucky, very unlucky.. "

And with that Ariston nuzzled Loveless' neck, the exact spot where Desde had grabbed her. "The skinwalker grabbed Loveless, and it didn't pierce her, so that is good." He smiled on that thought at least, but, "It was shocking and horrible, and I am suprised Loveless is still able to bounce around today." It was a family problem to recognize, and he hoped that the children would stay strong no matter what. "Skinwalkers are more insane then any of us can handle, though if you stay close to us, I am sure you will be alright." Desde didn't dare hurt Ariston, but because she was so insane last night, she grabbed Loveless out of true hate.

Loveless nodded as her father finished speaking, and looked at her mother and brother. "What about you guys, no dangerous run-ins? You are lucky, then. Most others though, are pretty nice I have to say." She nodded, wondering if they would ever wander around.
