Ekage just kept walking, just kept going. Not that long ago he had met up with another, Zuri was her name, yes, she was searching for her family too. He was still searching, seemed like a never ending search, he wondered sometimes if it would be best to just stop, settle down in one place, try to start a family, a life of his own. But not many seemed to be so welcoming with a rogue male, and he stood out, stood out a lot from lots of other marked pelts of other lions, other rogues or pride-members.

Even that little jackal, who thought herself a lioness, had more interesting marks about her then he had about himself.

He took a deep breath, stopped. There was a patch of green grass here, so much nicer to see rather then the dried up golden blades he had passed by so many times. Several times he thought he was going about in circles, though he wasn't positive. Laying down upon the blades he rolled onto is back, closed his eyes and smiled. It was cool here, and the sun was not so hot today.

For this he was thankful.

Though he'd be more thankful if he could end his search for his family, for a purpose in his life.

And then when he oppened his eyes he'd see a probably pretty confused lioness looking down at him. Yes, this was Kimaji, who pretty often wandered a bit away from the mistweavers forest, just to see the outside lace. And every once in a while she'd see something else, but this time, she saw a lion.

"You alive? " She tilted her head to the side, one ear backwards, closeish to her skull, and the other perked. "You don't really look alive. You're just layin' there. " She sat down, still peering at the lion. If he was sleeping-- she'd never seen anyone sleep like that before.

Her tail flicked idly, and on paw hovered above the ground, toes wiggling to try and get a rock out from between her pads.

Ekage heard a voice, opened one eye and looked around, squinting as he did so, the sun was just over head, and it was hard to see clearly right away. He opened his other eye, chuckled a bit and rolled over onto his stomach, watched her, tilted his head in response to what she said, how she looked. Where had she come from, he didn't even hear her come near! Wow, was he losing his touch?

"I assure you I'm alive, a bit tired, but alive," he said with a nod, a flick of his tail, he watched her look at her paws, she had such intricate markings on her pelt...lucky. "I'm Ekage," as if she had posed the question, might as well intriduce himself out right yes? "May I ask for your name?"

It lved! She grinned, pulling back a bit to give it air, jsut in case it needed any. "Yay! " She swished her tail, looking down at the lion. Even laying down, though, he was still rather large towards her. She was currently taller, standing, but the lioness was, quite frankly, scrawny, small. Her ribs were slightlyvisible, but not enough to make her terribly bad looking, but she'd never be a normal sized lioness. Her father hadn't been able to hunt for her so well, hewas old. Yet, being a bit smaller, to her, was no problem. She was still healthy enough.

"You should sleep if your tired. She nodded matter-of-factly, and sat again, smiling. "I'm Kimaji! Hi Ekage. "

"Kimaji, a nice name," he said with a nod and a sway of his tail. He stretched his legs again, gave a smile, "I napped enough I think, plus, speaking with you is a much better time then sleeping, wouldn't you think?" he asked, smiling, sitting, watching. Kimaji seemed, interesting, very lively, very...hyper. It made him smile and chuckle on the inside. He noticed she was smaller then most other females he had seen, younger too perhaps. Had she not hunted much out here...wait, why was she out here?

"Are you lost Kimaji, or just wandering around searching for some fun," he wondered, he wondered lots of things.

"Kimaji lives in the forest. " she smiled. "Sort of. " Her tailswished, ears cocked up towards the male. "But theres not much water. So I have to come out here! 'n I was bored, cause Swaii is sleeping. " She shrugged. He sleps so often!

"Why is ekage here?"

Ekage internally wondered who Swaii was, but it was better to not intrude on persnoal things, especially names of others, descriptions, some others didn't like their names being asked by rogues. Why he was there? "I'm looking for my family, and somewhere to belong really, haven't found that 'place' where I want to spend long days at," he said with a nod, hoping that would be a satisfactory answer for her.

"Ohh! I dunno my family either! well, cept for Swaii. but I dunno my mom! " She said happly; to her, it was no big deal, she was sure she'd find her someday! Ah, Kimaji. so young, so... stupid.

"And you can live in the forest! but its kinda dry and funny now. " She shrugged. "Cause I never saw rain. 'n now waters dryin' up. " She frowned. She missed swimming! it was so great and now she couldn't swim anymore!

"The forest is dry?" he tried to stray away from the family thing, though it did seem like she didn't mind not knowing a lot about her family, but still, for many it might bring up memories that are emotional, he didn't want that, not at all. He flicked his tail though, the forest was dry? But...didn't trees and plants need water, why hadn't it rained?

She had never seen rain?

"Maybe its just the seasons," Ekage said with a nod, "I find clear puddles now and then everyday, might be good for you to get a drink at one of em," he said with a smile.

But then again, she might get lost if one was too far away...

"No, here still water! " She said with a smile. "Just not as much. " Kimaji shrugged. "I never seen rain ever. Maji told me what it is though-- it must be cool! " She nodded, stretching her skinny limbs and flicking her little tail.

"Me and Swaii used ta live deeper in, but it ran outta water. " She frowned. "I used to swim in the lake. But its almost all gone now. " She missed the lake! Why wouldn't it just get better? So many trees had lost their leaves..

Ekage smiled, though she hadn't seen rain? "Its beautiful really, rain, and cool too, though sometimes on a hot day it can be a bit warm, but cools you off really well," it did, he liked it when he had to travel, and there were sun showers, very nice, yes indeed. She could swim? Well then, that was good, how long had it been since he had swam though? Too long, he should find a place again sometime.

"If it doesn't rain int he forest, you should take a day trip to somewhere where it does rain, you'd like it, I'm certain."
PostPosted: Thu Jul 12, 2007 6:36 pm

"Swaii doesn't wanna leave. " Kimaji shrugged. "An' Kimaji doesn't wanna leave Swaii. So she stays with him. " She smiled, yawning a bit. Rain sounded nice, but she tended to get bored when she wasn't actually seeing something.

"But we ots nuff water! And it'll rain soon, prolly. " Kimaji nodded happly. She was optimistic; she didn't consider the bad things.

Wow, so young yet she held such consideration in others. That was very rare. Usually the younger lions were out there, the more wanderers they would become. But no, Kimaji seemed to be different, which was good, quite good, especially for this Swaii. "I hope it does rain for you soon, you shouldn't go so long without seeing it," he said with a slight chuckle.

You really shouldn't though, rain was something special, especially in desert areas.

"i'll see it. " She smiled. she would someday; she just had to wait.

"You should go see the forest! there are some cool places. " She said, smiling at Ekage. "There are caves! I usad ta live in them, but they were where there was no water. " She flicked her tail and curled it around her leg.

The lack of water worried Ekage, Kimaji seemed so nice and innocent, why must she go through such hard times without the aid of water? It was essential to live and for life to flourish, he wishes he could wish rain upon her home. "Caves?" interesting, he hadn't seen a cave in so long, they must be interesting, dark too, but intriguing all the same.

"I've seen a few caves, but I like being under the stars mostly at night," he was referring to sleeping in caves and that sort of thing, being under the stars was so much nicer.
