So, Let's talk about Mai. Why is she always so bored? When did she start learning knife throwing? Is she going to stay on Azula's side? Will her relationships with the other characters change?

Mai probably taught herself knife-throwing out of boredom, and maybe so she wouldn't feel so pathetic in comparison to her friends.
I don't know if she'll stay on Azula's side. I don't think she'll switch sides, but I think she might distance herself from the war and stuff.

I'm hoping Mai will get some development or that we'll see some backstory on her, because as of now, I find her very boring and uninteresting.

I know, I've watched it a few times already. DX
But there's still hope! The creator's always tease us with stuff like this, then pull out some crazy, completely unexpected twist. (Crossroads of Destiny, anyone?) I'm sure they're just giving the Maiko fans some attention, since they've given pretty much every other fandom spotlight.

The reason why I don't like Mai, is.....
well....she's BORING. She says everything is boring,
but never does something against it. Even her voice grates on my nerves.
The only time I had respect for her was when she outright refused to follow Azula's orders.
The Maiko kiss throws me off, and makes me wonder on what crack Mike and Bryan were. sorry xD

Mai was actually sort of amusing, when she was hanging out with Ty Lee. It's the opposites thing again.
I guess when she's on screen with Ty Lee, I'm cool with her, but get her on screen with Zuko...Augh! She just doesn't even try to care about Zuko's feelings, and she has a crush on him?? How does that logic work? Seriously, is she only interested in kissing him??

Ah, so that's why Mai seems so apathetic. She was raised to be that way. I may not be a huge fan of her still, but at least I can now understand her and actually feel sympathetic toward her.

To me shes a bit lazy in the way she doesn't make an effort in things. like a kid always whining about being bored. To me she doesn't make an effort and thats why things are 'boring.'

So... How do you guys think Mai will react to Zuko leaving? I'm seeing her feeling a bit angry and betrayed. And if she doesn't feel that way at first, Azula will probably twist things in a way that makes her feel that way.

I think she'll be angry and hurt over Zuko's leave. Azula would most likely make things worse making Mai angerly try to chase down Zuko.

Still, I'm hoping this whole ordeal results in a permanent end to their relationship. Seriously. They've had enough kisses to last a lifetime. xP
Yeah, Azula will probably twist things in a way so that Mai gets angrier, and then get her to help chase Zuko down.
