One word: AWESOME
There were a few drawbacks, but overall I was very impressed. It was my first metal show and I am really itching to get to another one already.
now back to the concert: They played a few tracks from Paradise Lost and overall the setlist was something like this: [*'s are off the new album]
1. Of Sins and Shadows 2. Domination* 3. Inferno 4. Communion and the Oracle 5. Smoke and Mirrors 6. Evolution 7. Sea of Lies 8. Set the World On Fire* 9. Serpent's Kiss* 10. King of Terrors
And then they took a break to come back for the encore: The [********] Odyssey@#$!
To say the least it was one hell of a show, especially closing on The Odyssey. Now the bad: The sound tech did a terrible job setting up. Not that it was the worst, it just wasn't set up correctly for the smaller venue, I hope that the sound tech figures this out before the real tour starts...but ******** it, Russell got everyone pumped and overall I don't think anyone was disappointed.

sounds like a hell of a show. unfortunately the only shows ive been to were local shows, and only one was any good. it had Locust Furnace (death metal), and Force of Nature (power metal cover band) - both local bands of course, and the only ones that are any good i have to add - so i was happy...
i never got too much into the Symphony, but the majority of the songs i see on that list are ones i like, so rock on

That's sick! Glad you enjoyed your first metal show. 3nodding
@ Mjoll- I agree. I think some of their songs are brilliant, but Allen's voice annoys the s**t out of me. Then again, I've never been one for that flower-metal type lead singing. It reminds me of an annoying broadway. xd
Nonetheless, still an amazing band. I'd love to see Romeo and LePond, especially.

So I forgot to mention that it was hot as hell in B.B.Kings and that they wouldn't turn on the AC... apparently the show was cut short because it was too hot and now people are complaining big time.

My friend is going to open the next show, so I'm going again. If anyone is interested he's selling tickets for $17 for the July 12th show in Hartford... the more tickets sold through him and the band the better the stage they get to play and I do believe main stage is a possibility so buy tickets damnit!

Besides the people you know personally, no one in this guild lives in Hartford. You know I want to go, but can't. Cruise > Symphony X concert, sadly. xd
