Her purple eyes wandered towards the clock; it was the last day before their short summer break. Only two more minutes, which seemed like a life-time to Itsumi. The bell rang and students rushed out, cheering. She sighed as she picked up her backpack and gathered her things; if only she didn't have such strange worries. Like what was going to happen next with the strange figurine she had found, which suddenly turned into a cat.
She exited her school, and as she left the grounds she went a different way from home. She was going to her friend Rosse's school today, because she needed desperately to confide in someone about this strange..problem. Although, she had to admit, she loved having the sassy, intelligent cat around.
She stood by the gates to Rosse's school, leaning against the wall, smoothing out her purple school skirt. She waited for her firiend to arrive.

The bell rang.
"Oh god," muttered Rosse, picking up her binder and getting the heck out of her 6th-period classroom. "I dunno if I can stand 14 more days of school..."
Of course, it would be a lot easier if she didn't have a secret roommate to take care of. Shinkujaku, or Shinku as he preferred to be called, had made himself at home in her house. He'd been living there for about a month and a half, and so far she was still pretty much in shock about the whole darn thing. And since her mother, who didn't want another pet (her cat Scoot was big enough to be two cats), would have kicked Shinku out before you could say his name, Rosse was having a heck of a time keeping the Maneki Neko's existence a secret. The orange fur was enough, never mind the occasional feather or two.
She stuffed her binder in her backpack and made her way out of the school. So far Shinku hadn't really done anything to show that he was magical, although her recent run of luck in coin flips had to count for something, right? Nevermind the fact that him having wings and a big feathery tail were proof in themselves.
After escaping the mob of students clawing their way out, she leaned on one of the gates to rest by... and saw a familiar face. "Itsumi!" said Rosse, grinning at her friend from a different school. "Been a while, huh? So what's up?"

Itsumi looked up, hearing the familiar voice. She smiled cheerfully at her friend. "Rosse! It has been a while~!" She agreed. 'Phew..' she sighed in relief. 'Ares has been so busy lately, I need someone to confide in..' She was glad she was about to get such a heavy secret off her chest.
"Want to go to Cafe Star*?" She asked, grinning as she pointed towards the direction of one of their favorite Hang-out places. "I've got a lot to talk about.."
'Like talking, magical cats...' She sweatdropped, thinking to herself.
