"Biggest meanest nastiest creature you've ever seen" heck even though only ONE creature has this type (its an unglued card) it is still a valid creature type for all formats...
Not quite. A while ago wizards cleaned up the creature type list by announcing that only creature types actually printed on cards legal in a format were considered valid types in said format.
So you could only screw around with B.F.M's type in a silver bordered game.
Right now I'm liking Reflections. Spirit mirror has "0: destroy target reflection". Add Unnatural Selection with "1: target creature's type becomes the creature ype of your choice until end of turn" and you have "1: destroy target creature" on an enchantment.
Seriously, though, the only creature type I've really cared about as a creature type is Goblins. They're pretty much the only "type matters" strat to be viable for any period of time.
The Timmy in me loves the idea of a Tribal Wars Leviathan deck, though.
And the chain types, rebel and mercenary, are cool. I don't think the concept was executed quite as well as it could have been. In retrospect, a more tool box approach (lightbringer and law bringer are good examples but too narrow) would have made for a more interesting theme but even as is they're alot of fun.
Human is a type that appeals to me simply because it's completely screwing over the tribal wars format. There are so many humans in the game and so many of them are good cards (Dark Confidant is just one example) that 3 or 4 competative decktypes can morph into human tribal wars decks with neglible modification. There's even a build of Martyr Tron. A control lockdown deck in a format that was designed to make creature combat matter. That just amuses me.
