Since our last random quote is doing so poorly, I've decided to try again. You can still guess the first one, if you think you know it.

Now, this is my favorite line ever, so I hope someone gets it.

Major hint below.

People live such sheltered lives that they have no climate and see in black-and-white. For example, on many copies of the book written by Lois Lowrey, there is a black-and-white hand tossing a red apple. The main character Jonas begins seeing color after The Giver of Memories (the old Reciever of Memories) gives him some memories. (I.E. His first memory, of sledding down snow)
I don't know how much larger of a hint I can give.
