pg 791 (Leila's last appearence: 5 days after Valentine's Day) ~
Tymiko the Pirate Girl
((Really, Minkey? Wow! heart whee That's so cool!

Um...I only have 12. ^^;

Let's see... uh, 6 are growing, and 6 are pygmies (2 of which are of Chiron City), though 4 of those pygmies I've already come up with personalities and have or plan to roleplay them as 'normal' taur. Matteo particularly, since he was one of my first, and I rp him almost more than most of my newer ones. Like Tuaria, who's still an egg. ^^; ))

As Leila listened quietly to the young white cervi girl's irresistably sweet greeting in her angelic voice, she thought she would throw up. Instead, out of earshot of the others, she allowed herself a disgusted sound and rolled over to watch the children. Cuteness made her sick; intensional or not.

Choosing to ignore their little formalities that the teen decided were far too advanced for kids their age, she rolled her eyes and turned instead to Vena. The pup turned out to be quite sensitive and evidently, easily offended. "Wow...you brats sure are passionate about things, aren't you? And at so young an age, too. How could you think you even know the beginning of what 'real problems' are?"

Her eyes flickered to Vena's ears curiously. "There's nothing wrong with your ears," she insisted. "Otherwise you wouldn't be able to understand me. So I can't see why you'd be an outcast as you claim to be. Now, I don't know what sort of game you're trying to play, but personally it's boring me and I have some prey to go kill."

She got up and steched, her tail flicking restlessly behind her, but made no motion to leave. "I never had parents. Your 'disease' obviously doesn't seem to hinder you much, little cub, so I can't see what reason your parents would have to cast you out, other than stupidity. But don't worry. That's quite common amound wolftaur. You're probably better off without them anyway. You can learn things on your own and become smarter than they ever were."

She grinned deviously over her shoulder as her tail snaked its way to Vena's face and wiped a small tear she had missed from her cheek. "Take it from me. Looking at you now, if I were a mother and you were my girl, I'd never find reason to cast you out so long as you could learn to hunt and behave like predator children should. Cattaur aren't as feeble-minded as wolves. Perhaps you could learn a thing or two from us."

"Like my idiotic boyfriend." She turned away, her voice sounding more like a growl with every word, and her dark fists clenched. "He always claimed he was a good hunter, but in truth he couldn't even match up to me. He had to use a dagger. A weapon, of all things! Just to kill a measly rabbit!" She relaxed eventually, and examined her fingernails, which were quite sharp. "I suppose he just wasn't manly eoungh to use claws or teeth. Shows you how great wolftaur are, when they can't even use the natural weapons nature has gifted us with."

Eyeing Vena as she sat before her, Leila shook her head. "No no no. 'Cute' is never a compliment. Especially if its coming from me. And again, I don't know what nonsense you're blabbering about 'not being able to hear', but you seem fine to me."

Taken aback by the wolftaur child's mature question, the cattaur hesitated before answering. "I thought I did...but...now I'm not so sure." Her piercing eyes averted themselves to stare at her paws. "Jaegar had told me I was beautiful once...and at first I thought he was lying. Now I know he was."

Turning on Tarik as again, he chose to interfere, Leila snapped, "But you're not exactly shadow-blending material either, are you, twig-head? Oh, sure, people notice me, but only because I make them. And that can be very unpleasant." As if for emphasis, her claws unsheathed themselves beneath her black paws. "And you're wrong! You have no idea how much it is your fault for being colorful! You have no idea!!!"

Leila breathed hard as she fought to control her rage, her rough growls eventually subsiding. She didn't have to put up with this. She turned away, leaving the boy to speak with Banalina, only to be confronted by yet a third defiant voice. It was the striped child. Her shoulders slumped. "What do you want?"

Blinking at the unexpected, random question, the teen wasn't quite sure what to answer for a few moments. "Why do you care?" she answered finally, after a long silence, failing to hide her astonishment. It didn't seem to bother the cervi girl. She only continued. And Leila listened. Leila wasn't sure why, exactly, but something about the child interested her. Her prideful stance did not escape the hunteress' notice.

"Auntie Al?" she repeated, dumbstruck. "Who the he-" The cattaur stopped. Could it possibly be Alabaster? But there was no way the squirt before her could be related...they looked totally different! Perhaps only friendly relations? After all, Iryl called Matteo 'uncle'. As the little taur continued on with her message, Leila confirmed her suspiciouns. But instead of being cheered up by news of her friend, she only sunk into a deeper state of depression...and then anger, since Leila was not one to have self-pity. All her sadness eventually converted into rage directed at something or someone, in some form or another.

"Tell your 'Auntie Al' that there hasn't been a fight yet. My wolftaur boyfriend ran off for Valentine's Day, and he hasn't been back since. But when I catch him...there will be. One like this forest has never seen." Her slitted pupils narrowed and she cracked her knuckles.

"Oh...and...tell her she has a very pretty um...niece..."

((I'll reply with Lycoris & Matteo later. I have to get off now. sweatdrop Sorry Aria & Sunfire! At least you have Sweet Heart and Deth to reply to, neh? XD

Good night, everyone! heart ))

The teenage cattuar female sulked. She had been wandering aimlessly through the forest for days, tired and lonely/ Along the way she had piced a few berries here and there, and even nibbled on some catnip as a comfort food, but she didn't have much of an appetite.

Through the weeks she grew thinner and thinner, her sleek, glossy black fur thinning and growing duller. Her usually bright, orange-yellow eyes dimmed, and she hadn't been in the mood to fight or even hunt as of late. Sadness and lonliness slowly consumed her. She missed having company. She had never missed having company before. The thought irked her, and to prove to herself she didn't need company, she kept away from the other taur.

Leila would never admit it aloud. Not to anyone. It took her a few months on her own before she finally admitted it to herself. She missed Jaegar.

She had been missing him since Valentine's Day, when the whole rest of the Cein Isles had been celebrating how much couples cared for one another. She had searched everywhere. She worried about what had happened to him to keep him away. Where could he have possibly gone? He wasn't in any of the places she had found him before. Didn't he love her anymore?

that question kept eating away at her. Had he abandoned her, after all they had done together? Spoken with each other? It just wan't fair! Where could he be?

Finally too weak to walk another step, the ragged, half-starved, emotionally distraught teenager climbed half-heartedly into a low-limbed tree to spend the night. The moon shone full and round, its white face illuminating her even under her lanket of shadows. To Leila, the white face that gazed down upon her was the white wolftaur whom had once pledged his love to her. A single tear rolled down her cheek.

"DAMN IT, JAEGAR!" She screamed, wiping the tear away so furiously that she accidentally scratched herself with her long, sharp nails. It was in vain, however. Only more tears followed, seeping into her new wound, stinging her cheek. She ignored the pain, however and continued to cry long and hard into her paws. It was the first time since she could remember that she had ever wept tears for someone else before. "Where are you...?" she whispered to the night air. "I need you back here with me..."
