I like poetry in general but my favorites are Edgar Allen Poe and Emily Dickinson.

Overall, I'd have to say Poe, not only for his poems, but for his short stories as well.
I also love Longfellow.

Blake. heart Or Dante, or Ovid, or Ver-drat... lots.
Blake's probably the writer who's had the greatest influence on me...
Poe has a real knack for the macabre, but his prose is better than his poetry, and outside of writing macabre well... he's nothing special.

Byron too. He was one of the original Gothic poets.

Poe is good, so is Byron. I'm particularly fond of TS Elliot though.
