NoDQ.com > TNA > UFC Confirms Negotiations With Kurt Angle Posted by Ryan Gray on 05/25/2007 at 03:50 PM
Source - PWInsider
UFC President Dana White made it clear to the media yesterday that TNA start Kurt Angle is talking with the company and is serious about a MMA Debut.
Angle has been talking about it ever since he left WWE last fall, but it now appears his MMA debut is actually getting closer than ever to happening.
White noted that he feels that Kurt would need at least six months of training before the debut would happen, but none-the-less he would make a great fighter. We will certainly have more on this as we get it!

That is going to be hilarious. Sure, hes a great technical wrestler. But the UFC boys would knock him out every time, just to show they could. He would NEVER make it in MMA. It takes getting hit for real, not what he's used to. I'm an MMA fighter, I'm a female and I'm certain I could knock him out.
Dont get me wrong, I respect him as a wrestler. But has he ever seen what happens to guys in the UFC that can only wrestle and not strike?

Sounds like they're going to throw a nobody in front of him just so he can win... unless they want to make an example out of wrestlers trying to go into MMA. I'm sure he'll get plenty of money out of UFC, so more power to him I guess...

I find this a total joke....why else would TNA keep him as world champ? He is great talent in the ring. So why do this?

So I'm guessing that you think he hasn't actually been hit in his wrestling career? I'm also guessing a broken neck must not even be CLOSE to what a UFC fighter takes.

I'm also guessing a broken neck must not even be CLOSE to what a UFC fighter takes. He won a ******** olympic gold medal with a broken neck. There's an amazing wrestler in the UFC that does only that, wrestle, and he's good, but no where near Kurt Angle in wrestling ability. Pro wrestling would definitely toughen him up, and I think with a little training he could kick some major a**. This reminds me of the reports around last year when the WWE guys got into an altercation with I think it was kickboxers. The wrestlers won, hands down.

everybody thought brock would be a joke he dominated all of his matches in mma so far not saying he won them all but clearly lost only due to lack of training. And kurt would do just as well he's not a small guy he has the ability to take anyone down and he actually does have submission skills.

Okay...I love and respect Kurt for his talent and dedication to the wrestling industry. But him going to UFC would be a joke, and would probably end up ended an otherwise steller career. I realize he won a gold medal with a broken neck and all...but he wasnt getting pummeled or wrenched like these mma guys do. All he'd have to do is step in the ring with ju-jitsu master like Nogueria, or Wanderlei Silva...and I'm sorry...Kurt would get destroyed. Probably within the 1st round. God forbid if they ever worked a deal for him to fight a monster like Fedor. Ontop of all that...Angle is a bit to old to be just starting to train for an mma bout.
I'm sorry, but mma would not be a wise choice for Angle. Just like Lesnars going to find out in a few months when he has to fight most likely Nogueria.
