User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Name of Nightmare: Yukio Li (Meaning: He Gets What He Wants, Pretty/Powerful)
Fear: Captivity
Home: Incultra
NM's Personality: Possessive
Name of Human: Seidra
Human's History: Seidra is what one would call a child with 'issues'. Seidra was placed in a Home at a rather young age, not due to a loss in her family due to a tradegy...but rather due to a abusive father and a immature mother. Her mother, to be kind, was a selfish silly woman who felt it was fine for a mother to go out partying four to five times a week, get herself plastered, and sleep the day away while pawning her kid off on her mother so she could sleep away her hangover. Her father, a man who never married her mother, was a fair weather boyfriend. When times were good he was there, drinking away whatever money her mother brought in and inviting his friends over to party late into the morning. When it came time to pay the bills, however, he would 'break up' with Seidra's mother and move out. Taking more then his fair share of the household possessions to pawn off and sell to friends.

Needless to say, Seidra was soon taken to a 'better place'. A place where adults watched her constantly and she had to share a room with three other girls. A place where privacy was a fable and the strictest of rules was enforced. Years have passed with little interest from either of her parents invested in her, and Seidra has grown into a angry young teen with a habit for snatching small things that do not belong to her. Though she knows the cost of being caught, she can not help it. Slipping that ring from the Jewelers onto her finger or those earrings into her sock fills her with a sense of empowerment. A sense of freedom, taking what she wants and catering to no rules or boundries enforced by others.

Nightmares Abilities: As a Terror Yukio has discovered only two abilities he possesses. The first being Levitation. When his small wings are extended Yukio begins to hover about four inchs off the ground. His second ability is mental control of his ribbon. By focusing his thoughts on the strip of purple silk, he can cause it to move as if alive. Writhing about as his whim dictates.

Yukio's abode appears at first to be nothing more then the direlect ruins of a single room building. Only a few stones remain of the walls themselves, but the floor itself is as firm as the day it was laid. Smooth stones of grey fitted tightly together are constantly covered and uncovered by the sweeping gold sands of Incultra's desert. Set within the floor of this ruin is a single iron ring, lifting it reveals a set of stone stairs descending into the cooler depths of shadows.

It is down here that Yukio's home truely is. Cooler in the day, warmer in the night, the stairs lead to a small complex of rooms interconnected by doors and tunnels. Small globes of glowing light mysteriously flicker to life in the presence of individuals, casting their glow upon well kept walls and ceilings. below are a listing of the various rooms that Yukio has labored to cleanse of spiders, scorpions, dust, and rodents.

Bedroom
Yukio's bedroom is pretty sparse right now. A simple cot is placed in a corner and adresser beside it. The room is quite distasteful to Yukio so he spends very little time in there. He plans on making it more suitable as time passes, perhaps by raiding the city Operis for some finery and pretty things he can't find anywhere else.

Kitchen
The kitchen itself has had little done to it. A small pot belly stove crouchs in one corner, a pipe of some sort rising up and dissappearing through a wall. There is a small table with now chairs set in the center of the room, and book shelf like units filled with pots and jars line one wall entierly. Thus far Yukio has not managed to find anything to stock the empty jar's with.

Bathroom
A simple enough room. There is a clawfoot tub with pipes that seem to dissappear into a wall as well as a shallow basin carved directly into a wall with a drain in the bottom. In addition to this a stone shelf is carved into the wall, several small colored glass vials and bottles sparsely decorate the shelves.

Play Room
A room that Yukio fully intends to focus the majority of his attention until he has furnished it to his satisfaction. This room measures 12 ft by 8 ft, with several iron rings hammered into the walls, floor, and ceiling. There is a large iron bound seaman type chest pushed into a corner with a heavy lock cliped firmly into place. Yukio's pride and joy, however, is a standing rack. A little old and dusty, it is not fully functional...yet....

Well Room
In the center of this room is a deep stone lined depression. Measuring about five feet in depth, the stones are tightly pressed together, but with no cementing. This is to allow the water source beneath the stones to seep upwards, filling the depression with a clear pool of water. Five small wooden shelves with three layers are set along one wall. The thin shelves hold box's of soil, in which mushrooms are grown. A pipe runs from the well itself, to a hand pump, and from there through pipeing into the wall. It is this pump that supplies water to a copper container buried near the surface of the desert sands. So close to the surface of the desert, the water is heated for use in the bathroom and kitchen of the underground complex.

Empty Room #1
This is a spare room that Yukio currently has no clue what to do with. It stands empty and dark.

Empty Room #2
This is a spare room that Yukio currently has no clue what to do with. It stands empty and dark.

Empty Room #3
This is a spare room that Yukio currently has no clue what to do with. It stands empty and dark.

Items of signifigant value or note shall be listed here.

Gem Stones
Behold my gemstones! I found these in the desert in some ruins. Hmmm, perhaps I should spend a bit more time investigating other ruins? They are the pride of my treasury!

* Yukio is a very vain creature. Despite being a keen witted Nightmare his shallowness sometimes impedes his better judgement.

* Yukio's favored color is purple. As it is a color associated with Beauty and Nobility he believes it is the color most suiting to him. A secondary favored color is blue, followed by red.

* GEMS! Yukio covets gemstones and other beautiful objects. He is incredibly greedy for things that are 'pretty' reguardless of whether they are his or not.

* Yukio views Seidra as a possession more then anything else. he is not moved or inclined to torture her the way most Nightmares are. However his obsession to possess Seidra inflict's terror of a different sort upon the girl, thus fulfilling his role in the Nightscape.

* Yukio wish's to steal Seidra into the Nightscape permanantly. He's seeking to find a way to entrap her, thus making her sleep forever in the other world and unable to ever escape him again.

~This is a place of endless sands. It stretchs on for as far as I can possibly see. Dunes and waves topped with loosely whipped shrouds of dust. Choking and merciless. I feel as if it is a place for me. I have wandered in this place where life seems to be vacant. Daylight brings a beating heat which cast's the stretch of sands in a shimmering light. Night time brings forth a deep darkness where even i in my current form feel a numbing chill. I have wandered, slowly hovering over the sands, rising and falling with the curve of the dunes as I explore this deadly wastelands. I am uncertain of what I seek right now, but I have a feeling that when it is found I shall know it for what it is. I feel a pulling as well, a urge...a desire...there is another place I feel I must go. Someplace else, someplace...beyond? To her. I do not know her and yet all the same I feel I do. Know her more then I know even myself. Who am I? I do not know yet, but I will soon learn. The sun rises and falls in a steady and unhurried trek through the sky. Steadfast and unconcerned, I feel akin to this passage somehow. All things shall come in due time. I shall wander, I shall discover, I shall look upon her and know her for who she is. Then, I know, i shall know myself.~

Seidra leaned against the wall of the nearly empty room. Her dark blue eyes slowly lingering on the hole poked walls. Her bags slumped against her booted ankles, three pathetic bundles that held to summary of her life. Clothing, make up, CD's, a few books. That was about it. Her CD player was missing, and she was pretty sure where it went. Not that she could do anything about it. She had stolen it herself in the first place.

Outside she heard the metallic clunk of a car door closing, and knew it was time for her to go. Stooping she shouldered her stuffed back pack and grabbed the two plastic bags in one hand so she could still open the door. Entering the hall she sidestepped the pair of girls waiting. Lucy and Jenna. It figured they were the only ones to come say good bye. They would be missing out on all the nice little things that Seidra came home with from the shops that they could black mail her into 'sharing' with them. The good bye's were hollow, the tears and promises of keeping in touch was false. It suited Seidra just fine. She didn't want to have any sort of commitments left here to nag at her conscious.

Exiting the Home she had lived in for little over five years, Seidra felt no sort of worry or anxiety about being moved to a different place. She was fifteen now. The age limit for her current Home and was soon to be settling into a new room with new housemates. Maybe this time she'd get a room on the first floor. The backdoor of the car was already open and waiting for her. A woman who had put too much effort into making herself appear thinner then she really was had a smile meant to be warm and cheerful upon her face at Seidra's approch. To avoid problems that didn't have to arise, such as forced small talk, Seidra returned the smile faintly. There by assuring the woman there was no need to 'become friends' with her on the short drive.

Honestly, the new home wasn't too far away. Just about a hours drive. It wasn't too big of a change, Seidra wouldn't have to worry too much about changes. Sure, she'd be going to a new school since this move took her out of the boundries or whatever invisable lines the city had placed for each school area. Flopping inside on her back, Seidra listened to the muted voices of her driver and the woman who had watched over her for the past five years. Nice little chit chat. how do you do, oh I'm fine, nice to hear, see you next year so you can take another unwanted kid off my hands. Toodle'loo!

Closing her eyes, Seidra looped her hands behind the back of her head and waited. There came the click of the door, a squeek of seat springs, thud of the door closing, then the semi loud thrum of the engin kicking over. Seidra paid no mind to the fact she could hear the tires crunching over the gravel, signaling she was pulling away from the Home. She did not sit up to look back, why bother? It may have been a home...but she had never truely felt at home there.

The ride would be relatively short, but the car was warm, the gentle bump and thump lulled her into a semi-aware state. Just minutes after leaving she began to feel the lull of sleep. As if to aid her in her nap, the driving woman pressed a button that started up some sort of relaxation music. With gentle melodies played to the sound of ocean waves. It was nice, and Seidra made a groggy note to find out what CD this was so she could add it to her collection.

~There...it felt it. Something. For the past few minutes Captivity had been feeling a little..odd. It knew something was happening but it was unsure. It had never felt this...this...urge. No...Need! It was a Need. To be somewhere else. But where? As far as it could sense, for it had no eyes to see, there was only rolling hills of loose sand.

Uncertainty clouded it's sense's. It felt both excited and nervouse. Directionless until..there...It seemed almost as if a window had been opened for it. A window only it could see, or rather feel. Turning blindly to it, it faded from the hot blistering sands...and found itself hovering over a girl. Her eyes were closed right now, and the rise and fall of her chest was slow. She was asleep. Captivity hovered over the girl, which felt a little weird since he was in a large metal thing travling at a fast speed. She was slender, and her skin had a tan hue to it. Dark black hair with three stark blond streaks pooled off the side of the seat under her head. Captivity lingered, admireing the girl's pretty features. It liked pretty. Yes, it liked Pretty very much. She was his pretty.

Sinking downwards towards the girls face, it felt the gentle pull of her breath as she inhaled. Captivity had never done what it did now...but it felt instinctual. Nothing that felt natrual could be wrong correct? Allowing the girl to inhale small bits of it's whispy form, Captivity felt as it it was forming a connection. Reaching out and touching the girls mind, and a foggy awareness washed over it. Yes..she was sleeping...a light sleep that would not allow for true dreaming..but Captivity could change that. it felt it could..and so, it decided, it shall...~

She was walking down a hall. Seidra didn't know why or how she got there. The questions never came to her as she walked along. Scuffing her feel a little, she did not wonder where she was going. All she knew was that she was walkig down the hall. Something was off though. Something was behind her. just as she did not question why she was in the hall, she did not question why something was behind her. She just knew it was there.

She picked up her pace, but did not look back. Somehow she knew that if she looked back it would pounce on her, grab her, and she'd...what? She didn't know. It would just be bad for her. The hallway ended at a corner, and she quickly took it. She needed to put some distance between herself and her follower. Where were the doors? Where was the exit? A window...she needed to find a window so she could get outside.

Seidra's nerve broke as she came to another corner. Now windows or doors yet. Turning around the corner she broke out into a dead run. Somehow though she did not feel as if she was getting away. It was still there, whatever was chasing her. It was getting closer no matter the fact she was running outright. The wooden floor creaked slightly as she ran down the hall in a rythmatic 'thump-thump-pause-thump-thump-pause.

Another corner. Turning around it Seidra felt the panic riseing in her chest. She was trapped! There was no hall around this corner. Just a stone wall blocking her way. She had to turn around. She had to go back. But...if she turned around she'd see it...Whatever it was that had been chasing her. She stood frozen, stareing ahead at that wall. It was here. Right behind her. A faint breath was blowing on her neck, disturbing her hair in a unpleasent tickling manner. She couldn't move, couldn't breath. it had her. She was going to die!

It was agony. Knowing that in order to get away she had to go back. But to go back she had to turn around and if she turned around the thing would have her! Seidra felt weak from the running already, how could she manage to get away from this thing? Long seconds passed with inactivity and just as before, it was Seidra's nerve that broke. Twisting to her left, she had only the vaguest glimpse of something dark. It was this moment that the thing had been waiting for.

She heard the sound of a chain rattle as she ran. c***k-c***k! Then SNAP! Her foot caught fast, and down she went. Landing now upon a hard stone floor, hadn't it been wood just a little bit ago? She kicked her caught foot, and heard the c***k of metal again, then a weight descended upon her back. Pinning her to the hard floor she felt something grabbing at her wrists, closeing tight over them and twisting them painfully behind her back.

Seidra. My Seidra. I have you now...

The voice was such a faint whisper. Seidra could not quite make out it's tone. It was...male..she thought, but so faint that had it not been directly in her ear she did not think she'd have heard it.

I have you now....

It was wrapped around her. Something around her arms, pinning them to her sides as it tightened. It squeezed her so tight, she felt sure she wouldn't be able to breath anymore. Fear welled up deep within her, freezeing her limbs against this overwhelming embrace.

Seidra...MY Seidra...

Nooooooo!

~What a thrill! An experience worth repeating most assuredly! Captivity was once more hovering over the sands of Incultra. It's whispy form twisting and writhing in unimaginable glee. It had not actually been able to touch Seidra, but it had watched. Manipulating the dreamscape in which her mind held her consciousness trapped. It had lain the passageway she had run, enjoying the futile flight of the girls dream formed body. Ending the passage when it had deemed, there had washed over her the most lovely of pale shades. Her eyes had grown large as the fear filled her and she froze in her actions. Captivity still felt exhilerated from when it had formed the chain binding around Seidra's ankle, keeping her from running any further. Then...when it had the dark shape wrap her up in it's arms, Captivity felt such a strong longing. Never before had it experienced such a desire. To be the one to bind her so! To hold her fast and still so she could not get away. He thrummed with the new found hunger to once more contain the pretty human girl. Enthrall her to his power and hold her all for himself. How soon till she slumbered next? How soon till he felt that moment of vulnerablity that he could take advantage of???~

"NOOOO!"

Seidra jerked upright. Her eyes wide and wild while she clutched at the pleather car seat under her. her heart was beating faster then she'd ever felt before. She could feel the rapid flutter of it in her chest. Sweat dappled her brow that had nothing to do with the heat inside the car.

Her awakening cry startled the painted lady driving, causeing her to jump and swerve violently. The car swaying dangerousely left, then right, then left again. Seidra heard shrill car horns sounding, the squeal of rubber on pavement, then nothing as the car rolled on.

"Heaven above child!? What was that about!? You nearly killed us both!" The lady exclaimed while throwing looks into the rear view mirror. Seidra found her termonology aggrivating in the following shock of nightmare and near miss. She was speaking the language of a generation prior to her own. Purposefully avoiding the reflection of the mirror, she twisted about in her seat.

"Nightmare." She responded before the lady had a chance to prompt her again. Seidra's annoyance with the lady faded quickly in the silence that followed. No questions asked about it, no reassurances that all was well. not even a ridiculing 'harumph' that could be expected from a shaken adult. The lady just left her be to her own thoughts. It was odd.

But it did give her time to think over the nightmare. She'd never had a dream so vivid before. Or so frightening. She still felt cold upon waking, still felt a tight sourness in her stomach. It took her the rest of the ride to make her body relax, and even as the car engine putters out and the door to the car was opened for her, Seidra could still feel the smarting pricks in her palms left behind by her curled fingernails.

Home sweet home...the introduction to her new caretakers passed without much comment from her. 'Hi, yes, hello, nice to meet you, sure I will, thank you, goodbye.' Who had she said what to? She didn't know. She didn't even remember being led inside the house and up the stairs.

It was the sound of a door clicking closed that snapped her out of her disturbed fog. Blinking her eyes, Seidra found herself standing alone in a room. her bags once more at her feet, and staring at a lone bed. This was her room? Where were the other beds? She had at least expected to find herself with one other girl sharing her room. Moving in a slow shuffle to the single large window in the room, Seidra pushed back shiney grey silk curtains to peer out a gingerbread style window and into a hedge garden. There was a small fountain and a white pebble lined walk circling it before doubling back to what she assumed was the entry point. A closer inspection of the window itself revealed that the window could only be opened outwards by a twirling handle, and that it was set in a stone foundation. In fact...craning her head a little to press her temple to the glass, Seidra could now see that the house itself was a stone structure. Grey rocks of various sizes covered the wall as far as she could see. Somehow it made the house seem a little ugly in her mind.

Turning back to her bags, Seidra took a deep breath. She needed to unpack and forget about that terrible dream. She'd be starting school up here soon...she had real life to worry about.

~There is only so much of sand that one can take before they realize there really is nothing over that next sand dune. Captivity had been wandering for hours now, and it had not yet seen anything to make further wandering even desierable. it was fortunate that it was only a whisp! Out in this endless heat it was certain it would not have lasted long in a body that required food and shelter and water...

Darkness be damned. There was it's reason! Eventually it would grow and it would need a place to take shelter in! Amoung other things! The small floating form gave a violent little shiver and began to ghost it's way over the sands rapidly. It needed to find something...anything that it could use when it eventually grew. How could it have been so foolish!?

Captivitys search lasted for what had to be hours on end. It felt no weariness in it's current state, so it was able to determiniedly search the sands, till it happened by pure luck and chance upon somethithat could be useful. For the most part it liiked like someone's failed attempt at building a building. Had Captivity not turned just right, it would have missed the collection of tan colored stones clumped together. With no hands it could not dig, but it could watch. The winds at times blowing away enough sand for Captivity to see that the stones were held together tightly by a odd mixture of mud and grasses. To find mud and grass would mean there had to be some sort of water source nearby right? Search as hard as he could though, which was little more then floating about, Captivity did not find the water source.

It had to be buried, like the rest of the stone structure. The only way it would be able to find out what sort of building this was, as well as find the water, would be to actually wait till it grew. But...

What if it was wrong? It would waste prescious time hovering here when it could be looking for more of a sure thing elsewhere. Ah...but how much more 'sure' can he get out here? He'd been looking for hours and this was the first sign of something in his favor. That settled it. he would wait!~

Empty. The house felt so very empty. Currently Seidra was the only orphan the family was watching over. If you could call it that. Mr. Ramone was some sort of busniess man constantly on the go. Catching flights from one place to another. Mrs. Ramone was not his wife. She was his sister and she tended to be a little more caught up in her own plans then to worry about Seidra. Part home maker, part online business woman, she locked herself up in a sizeable office with a little coffee mate coffee pot, mini-fridge, and tapped away at the keyboard for hours.

Seidra felt more abandoned then she ever had before in her life. As far as she could tell, her stay in the Ramone household was for some sort of tax write off, hence why she recieved a room all of her own and the place didn't look like it had been pre-lived in by hundreds of other children. Adoption without the moral strings attached. Or so she felt.

Exploring the house took less then half an hour. Seidra learned where the bathroom, kitchen, and den were. Thats all she really cared about. And now? Now she was back in her room, fighting off a chill as she looked out the darkened window. Fragments of her nightmare had clung to her thoughts during most of the day, but she hd been able to brush them off. Until now. Now when she was in her nightgown and stareing out at the artifically lit garden. The Ramones hadn't given her a bed time...Mrs. Ramone had told her that she was 'obviously a grown girl and could make wise choices on her own'. Pffft. She was able to read the underlying message in that. 'We're too busy to actually take care of you, just don't get yourself in trouble and stay out of our way and everything will be fine.'

Turning to look at the full sized bed pushed up against the wall, Seidra felt a pang of regret. Never had she thought she'd miss those back stabbing thieves in that cramped four bed room....

~Captivity stood upon the sands. Litterally he stood, looking down at wiggling fingers as the wind whipped his short black hair and clothing about. There was a silken purple ribbon wrapped about his wrists, waist, and a ankle as well. A lovely purple hue that just seemed to accent the flowing and pretty garments he wore. Captivity felt pretty. So pretty in fact that he threw his hands up above his head, and spun about in a circle, laughing gaily at the hot winds.~

"I feel so pretty!" ~He announced to the vacant space. Pausing his little whirl, Captivity realized it was now time. He needed a name. What would he call himself though? Crossing his arms, Captivity spent the next moments mulling over the important question of 'What do I call myself?' It was not as easy as one would think. It had to be a name that was unique, something elegant or at least pleasent to hear. he wanted..well..a pretty name.~

"Yai...Yea...Yu...Yu..." ~Yes, a name starting with Yu...but now what sounded good. Yulan, Yulee, Yukie. Hmm, that seemed close. Yukie, Yuki, Yukia, Yukio....That would do. Yukio! But what about a last name? Yukio was a fine name and didn't need much more added to it. Something short then. A single sound. Yukio Ai, Yukio Tai, Yukio Lee...That sounded good. Yukio Lee, but...a little shorter still, and maybe with no so much of a 'E' sound...Lee...Le...Li! Yukio Li. That...would be his name. Yukio nodded his head with a great amount of satisfaction. he had his name. he had his form. He had hands to hold and a lovely ribbon to bind. All he needed now was for Seidra to fall asleep again so he could explore the possibilities of his newfound form. That... and he needed to really get to work on those stones he had discovered. Now that he was past the initial pride of hos pretty he was, and his new name, Yukio distinctly felt the heat baring down on him. Yes indeed. Time to find out if he had made a good or poor descion to linger about here...~

Seidra laid back upon the bed. It felt like she was floating upon it. It was so large she had to stretch her arms nearly all the way out in order to touch the sides. Her dark hair was loose, tickling the sides of her face as she stared up at the blank white ceiling. Figments of lingering unease from her nap earlier kept her from dropping off into sleep. Or maybe it was the strange new room. It was so white that the pale moonlight streaming through the window illuminated the room, giving it a eerie fairy light type atmosphere. A mythical enchanged room with her a misjudged princess locked within. Despite the thinness of the sheets she felt overwhelmed with warmth. Seidra closed her eyes and exhaled a deep shuddering breath. School tomorrow. If she was fortunate things wouldn't have changed too much for her. Find a slightly unscrupulose group, win their favor with a couple of CD's and earrings, maybe a movie or game or two, and she'd be settled back into her safe spot.
