Nile is a brutal / technical death metal band from South Carolina, USA assembled in 1993. Their music and lyrics are inspired by Ancient Egyptian mysticism, history, religion and art.
The fact that they are inspired by Ancient Egyptian culture always interested me in them but i never got around to checking them out.

GO LISTEN NOW! i picked up annihilation of the wicked a couple months ago and was absolutely blown away...nile are amazing, and behemoth is pretty good too

i picked up the new nile this week...it's pretty good, though i think annihilation of the wicked was better.
anyone heard the new behemoth yet? is it worth buying?

Great, I just couldn't get into their performance because i was DEAD TIRED. lucky. the only time they come "near" (ie within a 3-hour drive of my town) here is the 18th, which is 3 days after i leave to move into college, 1800 miles away, and they already did all their shows in that area!!! gonk scream evil

I have a signed copy of it. BUY IT. It is ******** amazing. I've heard people say it is better than Demi-God, but I disagree. Still, it is a great ******** Annihilation of the Wicked, Black Seeds of Vengeance is where it's at. I love all their stuff, but I haven't listened to much off their new album. Besides the song off it they played at the show. They still kick major amounts of a** live too.

They still kick major amounts of a** live too. yeah my friend actually burned me a copy of the apostasy, and it is kinda cool. haven't heard black seeds of vengeance. i really like in their darkened shrines. and i've reconsidered the new album - it doesn't suck, but after listening to it a couple times, it really isn't great. kinda boring in places, but other parts are really good. still dude, annihilation of the wicked was good! especially the intro to the title song - right after that heavy bit of fast chording, where the lead guitar does that eerie guitar line and then the heavy rhythm guitar comes in behind it - i LOVE that part!

I agree with a lot of boring parts on Ithypallic. With death metal, there is a pretty fine line between a boring and not, and even the best of DM bands fall over it occasionally. But their whole discography kicks a**. I've listened to BSOV and AOTW all the way through, and like BSOV more, mainly because the first pit I ever went into was during the title track.

MegaTherion777 listen to in their darkened shrines...another really good one. I need to get more of their stuff. I may take a guitar lesson with Karl Sanders in March. I'm asking for it for my birthday, and it's so wicked. You get to get the lesson, watch the soundcheck, then watch the show. I'm so ******** excited. I hope my mom lets me.
