Tell me about your best matches, one of mine was me (Link) and my friend (Marth) are rivals on the game and in real life, we did one stock and fought for over an hour, no items, we kept dodging and countering, i finished it when he threw me in the air and i flew down and held my sword down, hitting him and knocking him out.

This is why players learn to use advanced techniques, to prevent stupid s**t like that from happening.

I had a 99-stock match with my friend. It ended with us both dying at the same time. We both had 99 deaths, but it gave me the win for being player one. You can just imagine what that feels like, to be playing for over an hour and have it end in a draw.

It was myself vs. Captain Awesome. It came down to the last stock, and I got him to 67%. We were on final D. It was pretty much whoever got the last hit in was gonna win it, especially since it was a Ganondorf ditto. He told me later he was sweatin bullets. razz
Oh, I lost btw. sweatdrop

My friend and I were having a four player match. I was kirby, one was link, one was young link, and the noob was samus. We were playing an item's match. While Samus kept charging and shooting and running away, we were fighting until I was left... and the noob.
I had 1 life while he had 6 because we didn't want to have to deal with him running all the time. He ran away most of the time, so all i did was knock him off the edge several times. Finally we were 1-1 so I'm at 60% and he's at 40%. He grabs a box and throws it at me while I was next to him stare . It was explosive and sent us flying. He went out first so I won.

Ok. There's this guy I know. He owns this belt with an NES controller on it. It is The Championship Belt. Some kid in Germany made it, and won it in a large SSBM tourney. Then he came to our town as an exchange student and lost The Belt to someone else. Then, eventually, the kid I know won The Belt.
So, I challenged him to a match for The Belt. He was Ness, his best character, and I was Samus, my best character. The level: Battlefield. Items: On. I can't remember the exact number of stock, but I believe it was at least five.
Now, before my match, someone else had challenged him for the belt. It was the same conditions as my fight, they were even using Samus as well, and they only managed to get the kid with The Belt down to two or three stock.
So I go up. And this match was epic. I think I was the first kid to get him to really sweat in a long time, and I'm even a girl so it makes it seem all the more impressive....all these guys losing to this kid, and some girl comes along and gives him a run for his money.
So we're going back and forth. He KOs me, I KO him. It's close. REAL CLOSE. Eventually, we're both down to 1 stock and I believe we both had a decent amount of damage. Somehow, he beat me. I think I gave him the first real challenge he's had in a long time.
So yeah, that's my closest match. And it just goes to prove: Real Smashers play with items on.

Good story, until that last comment.
I respect your opinion, but it's a fact that items are nothing but a handicap for people who can't play at an advanced level.
I don't mean to offend you squirrel. I've never had a problem with you in the past, and liked all of your posts. But I stand by my opinions too.

Items on or off, doesn't matter.
1 Question: Are party balls supposed to just explode after their little tune? Not a bunch of bob-ombs falling out, just exploding.
There's my closest match 1 stock vs. 1 stock. Jump barely over a floating party ball, do do do deeeee, and BOOM!! I'm dead.

I don't remember if they can explode or not...
I'll say they probably can, but I think they just drop Bob-ombs. I'm probably wrong; I haven't played with items on in years.

But I stand by my opinions too. mrgreen mrgreen mrgreen mrgreen mrgreen mrgreen lamest thing i've ever heard. you must be..... one of...... them.... so there i was, playing against this luigi guy ( my first real good luigi experience, btw) and it was pretty intense. it was a best 2 out of 3 match. he won the first, i won the second. so we're both on the third match and last life, we're both down ( or up, rather ) to 100 or so damage. i try my best to push him off the stage, and i finally get him out, but he does the forward B thing luigi does. so i was liek MEH, and I stand on the edge and start doing a PK flash thing to end the match a bang (haw haw), like take that you nyarg! the damn luigi launch thing goes past my flash, and he hits me, my flash pops, it hurts him for some reason ( its suppose to disable once i'm hurt, neh?) and we're both sent flying out, but since I got hit first, I lose the match, and I'm out of the tourney ( double elimination... losers bracket mrgreen mrgreen )

My friend was playing with Roy, and I was Link, and we were just throwing pokéballs at each other. We somehow, at the same time, threw a Lugia and a Moltres.
We died at the exact same time.
