Bobby enjoyed her little strolls with Dancer. It was the time in her new existance when things almost seemed... normal. Maybe that was an overstatement; for her breath still ended short due to the exercise her massive body argued against, her sensitive nostrils picked up impossible information from her surroundings, and her shirt clung just a little tight to her chest. All in all, however, the pig sometimes forgot her situation when she did something so simple as just walking the dog.

As usual, Dancer would run ahead and bark at something nearby... a squirrel, bird, or butterfly. Always, the small size of such creatures proved that they weren't more than they seemed (aka, not human turned animal). And, also as usual, the dog would stay nearby and return with her head held high and ears perked.

They were walking by the shore, when Dancer had something in her mouth.

Bobby knelt as best as her thick limbs allowed, "What is it, dear?"

The dog's rump wagged back in forth to make up for the absent tail, but she dropped her load onto the waiting hooves.

It was a fish, and its mouth gaped as it lungs struggled to breath. Bobby felt pity for the creature, and lurched to her feet. The woman jogged as best she could to the waiting shoreline and tossed the fish in. It flopped onto the water, but after a twist of its scales the creature dove and swam far away.

Bobby watched it go, a hoof resting on Dancer's nearby head. "Now, girl, you should leave the aquatics alone, they can't withstand much time with you."

As if in response, the pooch gave a sharp bark, her tongue lolling out.

Cody was doing his own little ritual as well. He didn't have any pet to share his patrols in the rivers, but at least there was always something there to keep him busy. Usually food

Suddenly he heard a splash in the water, followed by a lazy fish swimming not too far away. Hungry, he speeded up and like a torpedo he hit his target and held it in place with his sharp teeth
His last and final change had brought him a small bliss. His teeth might not be fully adapted for the task of ripping a fish in two with just one bite, but he no longer needed to worry about them escaping. As long as they fitted in his mouth they were as good as dead

Happy with his catch he surfaced to start his meal, completely ignorant of the pig woman and her dog not far away

Bobby jumped slightly, surprised to see something surface, and it was not the fish - it was much bigger. While the stood in shock, the dog did not share the sentiment.

With the frenzy of, well, a dog, Dancer barked at the being in the water. She wasn't angry, or even intending to be protective. No, she wanted to play!

Finally, the pig broked out of her stupor to find she held the pooch back with a hooved hand on Dancer's hip. "Ahh..." she strove to be louder than the pooch. "Hello?" she yelled, her voice rising at the end.

Cody almost let his fish go when he heard the sudden bark. His prey was still not completely dead, struggling to get away from his jaws, but only helping in making the wounds deeper. The boy didn't pay attention to that, it was just food anyway

Although he liked dogs, right now he was a bit defensive over his food. He let out a stream of clicks and banged his tail, warning the dog not to get any closer. Not like he could do much to hurt Dancer unless she got too close of his tail, he was just standing his ground
But when he heard the hello he stopped and raised his head. Though his memory was patchy, he was pretty sure he had never seen this woman before

Bobby raised a hoof to block out the sun's glare. It was mostly the hair that proved to her that he was not a "real" animal. She stopped to think, did she know him?

Dancer was not helping the situation, still barking and wanting to play. Finally, she couldn't stand it anymore. With a rather mother-like voice Bobby sighed and said quietly to the dog, "Enough, Dancer! If he wants to play, he'll tell you later!"

The pooch almost immediately stopped her barking and settled on the ground. Her muzzle rested on her paws and she watched the one in the water, eyes sparkling with intensity.

"Thank you," she took a deep breath, rubbing her temples. Now, she turned her attention back to him as she raised her eyes, "I don't believe we've met?" Bobby smiled kindly.

Cody kept an eye on Dancer while he started eating, just in case she tried to jump on him and steal his fish
But he turned his main attention on Bobby, struggling to pronounce the words clear enough with his dolphin voice. He didn't need to use his mouth to pronounciate them, so he kept eating while he tried to speak

"Knooo, yiiei wouhnck yieeehyiemmmgerrhh yuuho. Iiieeehh kcuooyiieeeh"
(No, I don't remember you. I'm Cody)

Bobby's brows furrowed, she was trying to break through the 'cryptic' voice of the dolphin's speech... for she was pretty sure he was dolphin. It took her awhile, but the pig resaid the words over and over in a whisper to herself trying to rework the words into meaning. "Cody? Your name is Cody?" she said after awhile.

The pig scratched her cheek, still thinking. She didn't recall meeting someone turning into a dolphin, so he must be new, whatever his name was. Bobby looked again - not only at his size but also his face. Her breath caught, "How old are you?"

Cody nodded, happy she had understood. His new voice was really frustrating, both to him and to who was listening. Took forever to get any pronounciation nearly right

He stopped for a while, thinking. He had never payed much attention to the passing of the days, but according to Sophie he was here for a year
Instead of talking he raised his webbed fingers, all 10 of them

Bobby's smile widened a little, glad she had the name right, "Well, it's nice to meet you Cody! My name is Bobby." She leaned down to try and be more at his level. It wasn't an exact science, for he was in the water and she had still rather rickety legs - though they were more stable now with that last change.

Her smile fell apart, and her eyes took on a devastated glow. She had been hoping he might have flashed more digits than just 10. It was his fault that he was here, no more than anyone else. Bobby was speechless, not knowing what to say.

Cody flashed an extra finger, but that likely wouldn't help Bobby feel any better

Now that he was done eating and didn't had to worry about anyone stealing his food, he approached the pig woman a bit more, as far as he dared to go without geting stranded
He vaguely remembered pigs, but this was the first time he was seeing one live and in color, even if it was an islander. She looked a lot different from the pictures and the cartoons he could recall
Curiously he poked Bobby's snout, grinning. He was completely oblivious to the distress he just caused

Slowly, her look softened. It wasn't his fault, and she didn't want her mood to rub off. Bobby watched as he came closer, and leaned down just a little more. She even surprised herself even more, she she didn't fall over!

When the boy reached up and poked her nose, Bobby wrinkled it up and snorted.

Dancer crept forward a little, nudging Cody with her wet nose, asking for some attention.

Cody left out a snort of his own, that sounded like a bark
When Dancer nudge him he quickly got his hands over her soft fur, petting and rubbing her. He loved the feeling of that texture against his skin

Then without warning he dived back into the water. He didn't resurfaced for a couple of minutes, but when he did he was holding a dead fish in one hand and a stick in the other
He presented the fish as a gift to Bobby, while he taunted Dancer to fetch the stick

Bobby giggled, reaching up and tossled Cody's hair before he could move on. Dancer squeaked when she got the attention she wanted so much. As the hand pulled away, the dog lunged forward a little and licked the hand in thanks.

And then.... Cody disappeared. Knowing he didn't have much to worry about, Bobby waited. The dog wasn't so patient, and whined as she leaned down to look in the water, wondering where the newest acquaintance disappeared.

When he emurged once again, Bobby smiled again, eyeing the fish with a sparkle in her eye, "A fish, eh?"

Dancer watched the stick, barking and getting up to dance around, waiting for it to be thrown.

Cody pushed the fish again at Bobby, insisting for her to take it. It had been an easy catch, so he was more than happy to share

As for Dancer he tanted her a little bit more, before tossing the stick over the river bank as far as he could

Bobby chuckled and shook her head, "I appreciate the sentiment, Cody, but I'm not very good with raw fish. You can enjoy it, I won't hold it against ya." The pig winked playfully.

Dancer was not so subtle, she gave one happy bark and then lunged for the stick.
