Roho'wa Mamake was truly an adult now. His height, his muscular build, and of course, his full and glossy mane, announced that to the world as he strode through the grasses of the Pridelands, wondering what he should do with his day. The sun was high in the sky, and Roho's large paws were taking him to the watering hole he often frequented.

Tail flicking, he crouched down at the water's edge to lap up the fluid warmed just slightly by the heat of the sun, his chocolate brown eyes fixed on his reflection. He still remembered a time when there hadn't been a hint of that cream mane on his head, and an obnoxious male lion had nicknamed him 'baldy'. At the time, Roho had decided he would forever not like Azima, but as time passed he found his grudge became less important to him. Now he could hardly be called 'baldy'. With a grin, he wondered what Azima would think of his mane, and if he'd like it. Then he frowned, wondering why it seemed oddly important that Azima did like the mane. He'd never thought like that before. They were friends now, mostly, yes, but he'd never wanted the other male's approval before. It was strange.

Straightening up, Roho looked around, his eyes searching for any signs of someone else nearby. Grown up he may be in body, but not quite in mind. He still felt gleeful and somewhat excited at the thought of making a new friend, like the happy cub he'd been, if he could find someone to talk to.

Someone was round, looking on from only a short distance away. Looking with somewhat subdued eyes, but they disappeared with a blink and the lion came forward to drink from still water.

Mchele sighed inwardly. It never got easier seeing Roho'wa. He was a splitting image of the mother he'd loved so dearly... and lost so tragically. The similarities were even more noticable when the cub had grown, but still didn't yet have a mane. However, as Mchele could see now, Roho was a strong young adult with a pale mane framing his face. He wondered at how proud Bahkti would be to see her cubs so strong.

Still, it was unkind to try and evade the lion just because he reminded him of their mother. And he had promised to look after them after all. He couldn't do it from a distance forever.

Sitting down after he had drunk his full, he looked to his younger brother.
"Hello Roho'wa."

Being so very young when the tragedy that took their mother from them occured, he didn't remember terribly much about her; just impressions, her scent, her comforting presence, and her lovely blue eyes. He had been told, many times, that he was her mirror reflection almost, but since he could not truly remember what she looked like clearly, he couldn't quite grasp just how much they were alike. Therefore, he couldn't really appreciate just how painful it could be for his older siblings, and perhaps especially his father, to look at him.

He smiled at his older brother as he came near, his usual happy, warm smile, even though he truly didn't recognise Mchele. After all... he had only been tiny when he'd seen Mchele. But even though he smiled like Mchele was an old friend - or relative, as he actually was - a bit of confusion shared space in his eyes. After all, Mchele knew his name, and he had no idea who Mchele was.

"Hello," he replied, without hesitation. "I'm sorry... have we met? You seem to know me, but I'll feel awful if I've forgotten you..."

[Hope you don't mind if I have Roho unaware who Mchele actually is. If you do, let me know, and I'll edit it. <3]

The warm welcoming smile Roho gave him instinctively made the corners of his own mouth draw upwards, even if was slightly less than the youth. But along with his brother's smile came the confusion and Mchele knew he shouldn't have stayed away from him so long. Oh, he certainly keep an eye on him when he could, but never any close interaction.

"I... should feel awful for not getting to know you better." His smile turned appologetic and he glanced at the ground beneath his paws. "What would mother think of me? After I promised her to look after you... and yet not even getting to know you."

He looked up again. "Isn't that part of being a big brother too?"

As Mchele spoke, the words seemed to press upon Roho, causing the younger male to slowly sit himself down. It wasn't an oppressive weight, though; rather, it was more like the weight of a thousand questions suddenly on the tip of his tongue. He wanted to know about Mchele's life; what the other male did, what he liked, where he'd been and what he'd seen there. Another branch of questioning would, of course, be about their mother, but these questions he knew he'd best not ask. He had already learned they could be rather painful to others who had known Bakhti.

"I suppose it is, yes... but I'm sure mother understands you have your own life to live."

He smiled again, flicking his head in the way he always did, to remove strands of his mane's fur from his eyes. "I still don't know who you are, though. You could be one of many; I, personally, have not met any of my older brothers or sisters."
