With the sun hiding behind clouds, Saphira flew through the sky in hopes of spreading its blueish tone. She hated cloudy days terribly, and everything looked so dull and.. grey. What an awful way to start the warm weather that had approached the land, and she sighed as little bits of water hit her wings. It wasn't exactly raining, but the sky just felt heavy with clouds. It was so heavy that even her body felt tired at the thought.
She decided to make her way to a lower altitude, especially since the clouds were giving her no warmth at all. Maybe she would do better on the ground, as all of the other Soquili did. In her lonesome state, she stood on a nearby cliff, quietly observing the surrounding plains. Little specks of life moved back and forth, and it seemed others were busy with chitchat. Saphira tried to hide her lonesome feeling, and curled her tail around her leg in a frustrated thought. Maybe being a dragon was just too odd for others to handle.

He'd come a long way to where ever this was and he figured he deserved a rest. Or more to the point his wings demanded a rest and he wasn't about to ignore that. Fluffing feathers and shaking out his hide he headed for a small spring to get a drink. His joints were glad for the chance to rest and he was happy about the chance to get a drink. This place couldn't be all that bad.
Leaning his head down he picked up his tail to nibble an itch out of it. Something had probably gotten caught in there after he'd landed. Fluff and whatever brambles lurked in the grass here were not a good mix.

Saphira smelled an odd scent in the Soquili infested air, and it carried a different feel. She decided to walk into the woody area behind her, and see what strange figure was hiding behind her. She really had nothing else to do, anyhow.
A faint but.. white.. figure stood out to her, it seemed another Soquili was just having a drink of water. She decided to approach anyhow, since she was so close to another. But, before approaching closer, she gasped almost too loudly, "Dragon?!?"

One wing stopped midway into a stretch and his ears flickered toward the sound before his head turned. That was most defiantly blue and most certainly not water. Shaking his head for a moment he looked back toward the mare. "Excuse me?"
He tucked his wings back against his side and turned so he could properly face her. Dragon? He thought he'd heard that before but he'd never really thought about it. At least she hadn't called him fuzzy or anything.

"Oh.. sorry." She looked at him, thinking she must have made a huge mistake! "I didn't mean to disturb your drink of water." She flushed up a bit and tried to regain her composure. Man, she had really been off lately with things!
"You.. your scent is different.. I thought maybe you were a dragon. I was excited, and I should have asked first." She bowed her head to him pollitely. She undid her tail around her leg, and tried to not look as nervous anymore. Who knew what he was, but she was suprised at herself for saying such a thing so loud. It was very unlike her, and she breathed in calmly to control her emotions.

He'd never really known what he was but he was pretty sure he wasn't a dragon. He looked far too much like everyone else to be that. Same nose, same hooves, just a few bits of fuzz here and there and a tail unlike anyone elses. She was worse though, the strange wings and the scales and all.
"Maybe i am, or maybe i just smell like one." He shrugged, feathers fluffing, and grinned at her. "Are you a dragon? Never heard of one of those before. Thought there were just Soquili around here and that's defiantly what you look like. Soquili with extras." He snickered slightly as he shook himself out again.

She gave out a shocked expression, but then tried to cool herself instead of attacking. Wow, this was.. interesting. "Extras, you say? Well, these extras mean quite a lot to me and my heritage. I don't think there is anything wrong with carrying a past." In any calculations she could have made, she never would have guessed he would say that!
She giggled herself, and raised a brow. "You don't seem to know much about yourself, it seems. Well, maybe you should figure that out before critizing me and my 'extras'". She was a bit offended, so she didn't mind being snappy back at him. Saphira could do nothing but just stare with an unhappy face. Her tail lashed and curled against her leg again, only out of anger.

"I know enough" He puffed up slightly. He might not have known a lot but he knew who he was right now and that was important. "I didn't say the extras were bad i just said they were extras. I mean wouldn't there be stories or something if there were something special like that?"
There were stories about leathery winged ones with sharp teeth and stories about ones covered in the hides of coyotes. So why wouldn't there be stories about these dragons if they existed. The only explanation was that they didn't and she had just been told stories to make her feel better about being different.
Or something like that.

"Stories?" She pondered that thought, and looked at him carefully. "Well, stories are for some to tell, and others to learn. If it is stories you seek, then maybe I can help tell." Her memory was old and vast, and she would sit sometimes and recall many memories and things others have told her.
She looked at his tail curiously, and bent down to get a better look. "Your tail is different you know, I haven't seen one long with nothing on the end before." It was very different then Gwee's, who had a large spade at the end. "And I am jealous of your fur, that must keep you warm." Though, due to the warm weather, she wondered if now he was dreading it for the sake of being hot!

"Stories take up too much time, unless you can make them short and too the point." He knew a few himself but didn't have the patience to sit down and listen to them most times. Everything he knew had been told to him when he was a foal or was things he'd heard in passing. He should probably make time to listen to a few stories now and again but it was so tedious unless it was a really good one.
When she mentioned his tail he turned his head and lifted said appendage up to nose at it. "I've never seen one like it either, cept mine. Fur's nice in winter. Now all it does is collect brambles whenever i walk though tall grass or the trees. It's a pain to keep up with." He could have defiantly one without it in the warmer months.

She grunted a bit, and flicked her eyes at him. "If that is how you see them, then that is your interpretation." She understand that some were too long, but not all stories were like that. "Its nice to just enjoy a good tale I think. It helps get my mind flowing." How confusing, everything she tried to say, he shut down immediantly. It seemed everyone she met did the same to her.
"Heh I could tell right away that that fur looks dreadful for the summer." She smiled gently, seeing that he went back to normal conversation again. "Won't it shed it all? Maybe that would help." She giggled, that would be a silly image, but maybe it would help him stay cool.

"They all usually run along the same lines. I haven't heard anything new or interesting in a long long time." He shrugged slightly. Hero's saving things or damsels in distress or things meant to creep people out. Absolutely nothing new. Someone should fix that somehow but he couldn't think of who or how.
"No, i stay fuzzy all the time." It probably would have been nice to shed but he wasn't that lucky. "It's not too bad since it's just one part. If i was completely fuzzy then i'd be in real trouble"

Heh, that's funny. It was basically the same for her, she really hadn't heard a story in awhile. Well, she decided to not dwell on it anymore, and she just nodded to him after he spoke.
"That's a shame, hopefully you won't overheat at all." Having fur like that would drive her wild. "Well anyways," She sighed, still upset at herself for making such a mistaken calculation. "It seems I disturbed you before, and that wasn't my intention. I just travel around with Gwee looking for more dragons. I should let you continue to enjoy the stream.." She backed up a bit and gave him a pollite nod. Man, talk about embarrassment!

"Stream? Oh yea! I was gonna take a bath." He could do that and hopefully get some of the dirt and grit out of his fur. "So there's another of you that is this whole dragon thing?"
He still didn't get it. What were dragons and why did this mare thing she was part of them? He'd have to find some others and see if they'd heard anything about it. Hopefully they wouldn't call him one too. He'd hate to have people thinking he was something weird.

Well, it seemed she reminded him of something important, which was good! "Hehe, washing oneself clean is always a good decision." She giggled a bit, finding humor in his memory of why he was there.
"Yes, there is, she is way different though." Her and Gwee were SO different, not only in appearance, but in emotions as well. "She is Green and Pink, and trust me, you would remember her personality." When Saphira first met Gwee, she wasn't even sure that they would remain friends. Its seems they feel bonded somehow, despite the fact that Gwee usually gets outraged by little things. "I have heard there is another who is as bright as fire, but besides that, I don't know." She curved her eyes, intrigued at the white stallion.
