It was late eveningtime, and the stars were just beginning to twinkle in the night sky. Vetch had his nose pressed against the window, his little tail waggling happily as he gazed into the starry wonder up above. He had swapped out his shorts and shirt for a pair of old jeans and a plain white wifebeater, and around his neck hung a piece of yarn-like rope - thin for a normal-sized being, but perfectly-sized for little Vetch, who wore it like a medal of honor. It had been the first thing he crafted for himself with his new set of fingers.
"Man..." He whispered to himself and the silent air around him, pressing his fingers against the windowpane, "Don't you just wish you could pluck it right out of the sky sometimes, and wrap yourself in it like a blanket? A big warm starry blanket..."

Willow entered slowy into the shop the door swinging quitely on the hinges the only thing to make a nose was the soft tinkling of the bell.
Willow had heard the question that was asked somewhere amoung the plushes in the window setting. "It would be interesting...." Came her voice as she looked up towards the srouce. Her tail flickered softly wondering whom it was. She didn't recall the voice.

Blinking, Vetch turned towards the new voice, and then beamed, neither shocked nor shaken.
"I bet it would look fantastic, too. You could shape it into coats or scarves or hats..." He trailed off, looking back out the window. "But then the night sky would have no stars to brighten it up, so I guess it wouldn't be worth it."

Willow hoisted herself up to the window to sit with the new guy inspecting him. "No I suppose not. It'd be like living in the city. All the bright lights keeping the stars away." Her tail flickered as she gazed up too, "I believe they do have 'star' printed cloth though. Something that glows inthe dark mayhaps?" She was no expert in cloth but she knew sometimes LP would go looking for something useful to replace some of hte old tattered cutrains in the cave.
Her tail flickered as she looked at him. "I feel I should know you but I do not recall your name. The name is Willow." She said with a nod of her head in a greeting."

"That would be nice..." Vetch made a mental note to check for such a fabric the next time he went shopping with his mother. Then, his eyes lit up in recognition, and he beamed at the teenager tiger girl.
"Willow! I remember you! You used to give me sugar packets when I was just an animal!" He held out one hand towards her, practically glowing with happiness. "I'm Vetch, the llama. It's great to see you again!"

"Indeed." Her tail flickered as she watched the sky.
"Oh Vetch... heh, wasn't I a bit mean to you too though?" She frowned slightly thinking back to his godzilla. Ehhh she'd have to make that up to him sometime. Looking at the hand she blinked, what was she suppose to do with that again.... it'd been so long since she meet a new living being she'd forgotten it seemed. "Ehe," She paused and then reached out a hand to shake his hoping that's what he was after, not 100 percent sure of it.

"Maybe?" He shrugged, shaking her hand for a moment before letting go. He hadn't seemed to notice her hesitation. Using both of his hands to steady himself on the sill, he continued.
"To be honest, I don't remember much of anything, 'cept for the few bits and pieces that stuck with me. But my mom says that's normal, she says most kids don't remember when they were babies just because they're not trying to remember." Taking a deep breath, he flashed her a smile, smoothing back his headfur with one hand.
"But if you were mean to me in any way, i'm sure it was all in good fun. You don't seem like the sort of Velvet that would go around bullying others for no good reason."

Willow grinned softly as she looked around. "Indeed I suppose not, but atleast you remember the good and not the bad." There was a smile to settle on her face as she pondered.
"I suppose not." Her tail flickered in thought. "So how long have you been a child?"

Vetch shrugged, glancing down at his hooves as he thought back. "Um... A month or two? Maybe three? I dunno, I haven't paid much attention to it. Why?" He glanced up at her, tilting his head.
"Is there like... A time limit or something?" And then, his eyes grew wide. "Oh man, i'm not gonna hafta go back to being an animal again, am I? I'd really like to keep my thumbs..."

Willow laughed, "Oh dear no. I was just curious. You can't go back once you've gone forward. It's like monoply having a 'go back two spaces' or the game of life having such a space. It's impossible."
Her tail flickered as she chuckled. "so have you found out you're talents yet?"

"Thank goodness." The llama boy breathed a sigh of relief, and flexed his fingers once to remind himself that they were still there. Then he paused, blinking once more.
"Talents? I didn't realize we got talents..." He trailed off, scratching his head. ".....is looking good in a bathing suit considered a talent? 'Cause i'm real good at that! And tuxedos, I look pretty spiffy in those. And cargo shorts... Vests... Scarves... Bandanas.... Trucker hats... Baseball caps... Capes and tights... Tunics..." Another pause, followed by a laugh. "Well, only in a few colors. All of those things, I mean, not just the tunic. Although I guess with the right accessories I could get away with anything, even hot pink or olive green."

Willow sat there and stared at him for a second. She didn't know if she wanted to ask him what she'd look good in or just ingore it and wonder if he was going to be some famous velveteen fashion designer, they really did need one. Atleast that way most of them could stop stealing clothing from barbies and bratz dolls. "Okay..... I'd ask what I'd look good in but you might go on for ages with that one." She said jokingly to the little guy.
"And talents are sorta like powers, like I can get all strange and start talking to 'thin air' as most would say, but to me there's a ghost there." She gave a soft nod.

"I could narrow it down to a few for the benefit of your ears." Vetch laughed.
"But I don't have any real powers... At least, not that I know of. Once as an animal I thought I could fly, but I just ended up landing on my tail the wrong way." He tugged gently on his ears, looking rather bashful. "Hadta walk around the store in a full-body cast for ages..."

Willow chuckled and nodded, "Indeed would be interesting to hear." She said as he offered.
"Well I'm sure you'll find you're neck of the woods, but it sounds like you're really good at the clothing bit." She started to chuckle but turned it into a cough. "Right, if you had wings or larger ears it might would work." She said looking at his ears. "You could've been like that dumbo fellow." She said with a grin.

"I tried pixie dust." He grinned sheepishly. "And faith and trust. That's the day I learned that, just because something gets made into a movie, doesn't mean it's real, y'know?" Darn you, Peter Pan!
Then, he scratched at his chin, glancing at Willow's outfit. "Well, the look you've got going now is nice. Very flowing. I bet you look good in dress pants too, and jackets... Maybe ones with furry collars? That'd accent the fluffiness of your fur, and with the right colors I bet you could really bring out the color of your eyes."
