Jessie had eaten his fill of the odd fruits that Leonard had directed him to earlier, and brought back a few to the camp for the rest of his fellow castaways. He left what ones he could bring back with him, which he’d brought using his folded forward shirt to carry them, and left them in the back seat of the car.

But he was still hungry. No, he couldn’t eat more of them, they had to ration things, like they did on TV. There was no way of knowing how long the food on this island would last.

He sat on the edge of the cars passenger seat with the door open, gazing aimless to the now darkening horizon. Well, that was one day over.

The day had passed not to quickly--maybe the blazing sun caused a relative thing called 'time' to pass by slowly or maybe it was all a trick of the mind. In either case the food for the night...wasn't the best Hailey had tasted. She was raised to have gourmet meals, dine at five-star restaurants with the social elite...instead she had ate some small portion of the edible nutrients the 'group' had acquired while the rest was saved to be rationed off for tomorrow.

Now with dinner over what could she do? Rather, what should she do? Make a bed for herself? Walk around aimlessly again? Or...her eyes wandered over to the open car door, catching sight of Jessie. She hadn't spoken to him in a while now...maybe she could get him to set up a suitable camp for her.

A small smile formed on her lips, walking over to Jessie's open door with a plan in her mind. "Hey you." Her smile brightened a little while she tucked some strands of her hair behind an ear. "We haven't talked much since we got here...do you want to talk?"

The day had also pasted rather slowly for Jessie, though he had tried to keep himself busy during the course of it, and to keep his mind of the situation. He’d set up part of a tent covering for himself, and a few others surrounding the car, but they where lacking anything to sleep on underneath them.

Out of the newly forming shadowed he spotted Hailey approaching, there was no doubt about it, she was the only female in the camp he was aware of.

“Hi” he smiled back, putting his thoughts about the island aside for the moment. She’d spoken to him first, so she did like him back. Or at least that was the conclusion his mind jumped too. “Umm sure Hailey” he stood up and moved the passenger seat back opening the way to the two back ones. “There’s room for two”

Looks like he was being the flirty one now.

Usually if someone asked Hailey to get in the back seat of a car, they were tall...handsome...and probably frisky. The environment would be something along the lines of a nightclub, with the moon hung high...but in this case the sun was almost down and Jessie wasn't those types Hailey found at bars or nightclubs. How to react though?

Say 'no' and suggest they should take a walk or say 'yes'? 'Its not as if he could try anything, plus there are others around...he's not the stupid type to think he could have anything from me in such a tiny area.' The thought rolled around her in mind before shrugging and climbing in the back.

She moved over to the side to leave enough room for Jessie, she didn't think of him being flirtatious by asking her to the back seat of the car. On the contrary, she thought he was either one, being naive or two being stupid thinking something could happen between them--in a more than friendly way.

"I see you're doing well." She stated, trying to get the conversation between them going.

Jessie was admittedly very inexperienced when it came to girls. Most of the girls he’d ever really had any meaningful contact with where now just former friends in middle school back home. Perhaps even calling them friends was being generous, acquaintances at best. Hence why Hailey has successfully wrapped him round her little finger and that his own mind has convinced him that she truly liked him I return.

He took his seat next to her in the small car, moving the fruit he’d brought in earlier onto the drivers seat as he moved in. It was getting dark, they’d need to switch the cars lights on soon, but maybe it would be best not to use up the battery on this thing on such a whim.

“Yeah I’m okay, I collected some fruit earlier” he pointed at the ones he’d just picked up. “You want one? They’re not that great, but they’re better than fiddleheads” He reached for one as he spoke and offered her the odd yellow coloured fruit.

The heiress didn’t pay much attention to Jessie when he got into the car. Her eyes wandered over to looking through the windows of the car to the world outside. Her mind briefly went back to how her life used to be. Riding in marvelous cars or limos to go shopping, business meetings or on dates. It was great showing off one car or another to the public, it proved how much she was worth and how much power she had in the palm of her hands.

Too bad she didn’t have such power while stranded on the island. Her status in society and bank account didn’t matter much here, but hopefully that would change soon. Hearing the sound of Jessie’s voice her attention was turned back to him. At the offer of food she gently shook her head. She didn’t want to eat right now but maybe later. “No thank you, a girl has to watch her figure.” She teased lightly, trying to get her mind into game mood.

She had one objective, make the boy in front of her do what she wanted without giving him anything in return--maybe some form of affection but that would be it. Hailey would have to take it one step at a time to make sure Jessie didn’t think anything was going on. Forcing out a small yawn , her eyes blinked a little in a cute way. Her hand went to cover her mouth before trying to sit comfortably in the car.

“Sorry, just a little tired.” She explained lightly. “I can’t believe we’re stuck on this island. What are the odds of that happening? But at least no one was seriously hurt and…” Her sentence trailed on as her hand went to move closer to Jessie to brush against his arm lightly. “That you’re okay.” Her voice became a soft whisper with an intriguing look in her amber eyes.

First step accomplished, now to move onto step two!

“Oh…okay” he smiled, chuckling lightly at her tease “There’ll be plenty later” he put the fruit back on the seat in front of them with the others.

Jessie was already Haileys little boy toy, still he hadn’t caught on to her game. Right now he’d gladly do her any favor, he might as well have been putty in her hands. Though he’d only help to get into her good graces, and he already though he was well on his way there.

“Your welcome to sleep in here then” he responded to her, “Yeah I know but…” he cut himself off as Hailey touched his arm and commented on him. “Thanks” he scooted a little closer to her. A odd chill ran down his spine, he felt oddly cold all of a sudden, he shrugged it off.

The offer of sleeping in a car wasn't something Hailey had in mind,. The car itself was small but then again it was a bit better than sleeping on the sand. She briefly pondered over the thought before deciding against it. if she slept inside the car that would mean Jessie might too, something wasn't too comfortable with.

"You're welcome." She smiled letting Jessie move closer to her, allowing her hand to rest on his knee. "But, um no thanks. Sleeping outside is fine with me, just wish I had a few more blankets though. It does get a bit chilly outside." The hint was dropped, the need for more sheets and hopefully Jessie would supply her with some. Unless of course he decided he didn't like the attention of Hailey--which would never happen, of course.

“Me and Leonard found a lot of blankets before, there’s more than enough for everyone. You can have a few if you get cold” His smile grew boarder, particularly when Hailey placed her hand on his knee.

That odd chill continued, it almost seemed to spread, making the rest of his body feel unnaturally cold. His fingers and feet in particular.

“A bit chilly? Aren’t you cold now?” he started to shiver, was he sick? Did he catch something while here?

Mission accomplished! She could get a few blankets if she so desired courtesy of Jessie. Hailey smiled inside, she loved having so much power over one pathetic boy. Now if only she could use her charms on the other males. The dark side of the woman chuckled with glee, once the males were as love sick as Jessie living on the island would be great.

"Aw thank you Jessie. You're such a sweetie."She said happily, rubbing her hand up and down on his knee.

When the boy seemed to grow sick Hailey felt a bit of concern, it wasn't cold for her. She removed her hand from his knee to check his forehead. No fever, so then what was wrong? "I'm perfectly fine and you don't have a fever. Maybe the heat finally got to you?"

Jessie continued smiling back, feeling somewhat like he was being petted as Hailey caressed his knee. She was so into him. Ironic that he though the exact reverse of the situation, that Hailey would like him more if he gave her blankets.

“It doesn’t feel like heat got to me” Jessie had already experienced what dealing with heats his body wasn’t used to was like once before on family holidays to Spain. ”My fingers and feet feel kinda itchy” Though that soon became a bit of a understatement and he starts scratching his fingers together, as the thin membrane of skin started forming between them, fusing them into two separate fingers, rather than four. His toes, hidden from view by his shoes, followed in suit.

”My fingers!” He gasped, as he found he could no longer separate his fingers or his toes.

Hailey rose a sculpted eyebrow at Jessie’s comment about his fingers. How could they be itchy? Maybe he just had dry skin? After all being exposed to the elements like now, it was amazing how her skin wasn’t dry as a bone from all the heat. Still, she watched Jessie scratch his fingers, trying to cure the itch when she heard the boy’s yell of his fingers. Hailey couldn’t believe it, his fingers were….well fused together! Her eyes widened with horror, what was happening to Jessie? Should she get out of the car? Or was it all a delusion?

“What’s going on?” She found herself dumbly ask while moving a bit away from Jessie. Did he swim by radio active water or what?

Jessie’s fingers weren’t just fusing, they, and his toes, where now turning bright red. At first they resembled a rash, but soon turned far redder than any normal rash would ever have. He doubled over in pain as his ears now too started to change, they stretched ever so slightly into elf-ear like points.

“Wha-what the hell…?” he reluctantly reached up with his odd hand to touch his new ears. “Hailey…m-my ears are…are they-“ he stopped abruptly as a sudden pain shot through his stomach. Like was like a normal cramp, though far worse. Jessie could only wait in horror as he felt the skin above his stomach start to bulge into four separate lumps, tow on his front and tow on his back.

Amber orbs went wide as Hailey's voice apparently vanished from thin air. She couldn't believe what was going on to Jessie and in the back of her mind she wondered if that sort of thing would happen to her too. Be it from close proximity or just from being on the island?

One part of her wanted to help Jessie--though that would be the tiny annoying voice in the back of mind--while the rest of her wanted to run away in panic. However, since she was in a car...and it was a two door car, she couldn't get out. Then when Jessie asked about his ears....all Hailey could say in a soft shocked tone of voice, "They're pointy."

“I know they’re pointy damn it!” he mentally screamed. And they where getting slimily, much like his fingers and toes now.

“Urghh” he gritted his teeth, and clutched his stomach, in a vain attempt to keep the strange lumps in. They forced his skin outwards, they became loner, until they could slip out of his shirt. And they where squirming of their own accord.

Jessie had just grown his four new appendages.
