It was getting late in the day, and the sun was beginning to set, making it rather dim amongst the trees in the Jungle. Another day had gone by and Mtima'safi was still alone in the somewhat strange territory. She was not too worried about rushing through her stay in amongst the trees, though it was hard not to go back to the Pridelands. It only took a couple reminders of why she'd left, though, to keep her from going all the way back. Her family would be fine, they were all strong and independant.
The goddess was thinking about her options for the night, wondering where she might stay this night. She had a usual spot, but figured it was about time to change for a little while. So Mtima'safi was walking along one of the many streams in the Jungle, enjoying the early-evening scenery and keeping herself occupied.

Running, running, running.
It had felt like days, weeks perhaps, that she had been running. Maybe she was running towards something, some place, some person, some thing; perhaps though, she was running away from the same things that she could have been running towards.
It had been a while since her last encounter with a lion, and though it took a few long weeks, she had managed to bury whatever mistakes she had made then and exchanged them for that familiar sparkle in her eye, that familiar smirk across her lips, those familiar dirty paws. It was almost as if nothing had ever happened.
Ahead of her, on the same jungle path that she ran, Kia spotted another creature enjoying the beauty of the tree spattered path. Intrigued, she slowed her pace to a slow gallop, an inquisitive expression on her face as she approached slowly. Something told her that she had met this lion before.

The familiar sound of paw steps was not unheard by the attentive goddess, though they slowed the closer they got to her and the stream she followed. And so the goddess stopped to get a look around, not really worried about anyone she might meet in the area. Mtima had never been given much reason to worry, for most she'd met had never had a truly negative reaction to her or what she was.
The form looked familiar despite the distance and poor lighting that the jungle evening provided. Mtima had to squint to get a good look, but quickly realized that not only did she recognize the shape but the soul that was attached to it as well. It was one that she'd seen before, and had always liked to see.
"Kia?" she called curiously.

Kia continued to follow the form ahead, her neck craned forward and her lips slightly pursed as she tried to place the delicate swagger of the figure ahead of her. Confusion must have frustrated Kia past the point of her concentration, because when she heard her voice being called out, her ears only twitched violently and she completely forgot to analyze whom that voice might belong to. In fact, she completely forgot at that moment that she thought she might have actually known the one before her to begin with.
"Kia? Yes! That's me!" she shouted to the form ahead of her in the twilight with a cheerful voice "You're very clever to have guessed my name! are you a magician?"
Kia bounced lightly onto the tips of her paws as she grinned clumsily at the rough outline of the lion a short distance ahead. She had never met a magician before, and she figured that now would be as good of a time as any to meet one. a magician! how exciting.

Kia was not the only one who was forgetting things, for the moment Mtima'safi forgot that the lioness before her knew her only as a mortal and not as the immortal she was now being without hesitation. She smiled inwardly as Kia seemed not to realize who she was, guessing it must be harder for those who saw only the physical world.
"Don't be silly, you know who I am," Mtima said with a laugh, and jogged closer to her supposed neice. She didn't expect to find Kia somewhere like this! Last time she'd seen her, she was pregnant with five- it did not seem that any of them were about with her.

"I do?" Kia's voice fluxuated with surprise and her head cocked to a slight degree as she stared at the blurred outline of the other with an unrestrained squint until it approached to a near enough distance that she could make out all of the lion's features.
immediately her face seemed to brighten as she made out the face of the familiar yellow lionness that she had come to know and love
"AUNTY" she squealed with a high-pitched voice. "I haven't seen you in ages? what are you doing here?" seeing her aunt had come as quite a shock to Kia. The last time she had seen her was in the pridelands, she never imagined meeting her anywhere else. She just seemed to love the pridelands too much.

Mtima stepped as close as she needed to until she got some recognition from her supposed niece. She winced when Kia let out a high pitched squeal and offered a smile in return. It seemed they were both equally surprised to see each other in a place like this right now, though Mtima supposed she shouldn't be too surprised. Kia liked to travel, Mtima guessed she'd gotten that from her mother, and this was certainly someone nice to visit. The only problem was that with five cubs, travel was not as easy as on your own.
"Kia, it has been a while," she beamed fondly, "I came to stay in the Jungle for a little bit. What are you doing here?"

"I dont blame ya!" she pointed her chin up to the sky, seemingly surveying the canopy of the jungle. "It's quite the nice place, cool, big.... moist...." it took Kia a moment to come up with 'moist' as a good reason to enjoy the jungle and it took her even longer to decide why exactly it was good for a place to be moist, but upon arriving on the solution that moist places often had more mud to roll in, she was satisfied.
"I'm just exploring around.... you know, seeing the sights.... living a little" she nodded in a sage like manner for a moment or two before her eyes turned back to Mtima "sayyy.... maybe you could show me around a bit!" Kia grinned enthusiastically at her own good idea, hoping that Mtima would know some spots of interest.

Mtima nodded along as Kia listed off the reasons to like it in the Jungle. All nice qualities, and though they were unique to the Jungle they certainly made it enjoyable. It was certainly quite different from the Pridelands.
"I'm not surprised, it's a nice place to visit," she agreed, smiling, "I could show you around, but it's getting pretty dark. You'd miss a lot of the flower, for example.." The goddess paused, taking a seat and considering where might be a nice place to go in the evening. With the flowers closing for the night and the light fading away, options were limited.

Kia looked slightly dissapointed for a moment "Yes you're right.... it is getting a bit dark" she said this as if the lack of light had never really occured to her. Perhaps though, if she squinted very hard she might be able to see some of the flowers closing before they were concealed entirely by shadow.
Kia mashed her eyelids together so that only a sliver of eye was allowed to peer from between. A silly smirk crossed her features as she could make out small outlines of the closing buds and of the trees and the slight sparkle of the water. She became rather engrossed with the new ease of her sight now that her eyes were squinted, and took great joy in swinging her head to and fro to catch new sights that she hadnt noticed before.
However, she was soon distracted from the amusement of the jungle flowers by something that caught her nearly shut eyes during one of the frantic swings of her head. Her gaze swung past then almost immediately sprung back to a couple of large growths on her aunt's back. It was difficult even now to see them, but she could make out a fuzzy outline. her aunt must be in trouble. she shouted.
"AUNTY!!!! YOU HAVE FUNGUS GROWING ON YOUR BACK!" her eyes grew wide as she spoke, eliminating any clear sight she had of the growths on her aunt. She assumed that they must be fungus though, she had seen many varieties growing on the trees. Oh dear... what if her poor aunt was turning into a tree?! she shuddered at the thought.

Mtima laughed quietly as she watched Kia make an effort to look around in the dark for whatever flowers she could still enjoy. It wasn't too difficult for felines to see in the dark, but that did not mean it was so easy to enjoy the lovely view of the jungle. It had it's own charms in the dark of night, but the true beauty was in the day. She was startled out of taking a bit of a look around herself when Kia suddenly shouted very loudly and very urgently that she had fungus on her back. Curious, if not a bit concerned (though really only because of how it would look), Mtima turned to inspect her back and found only her wings- and remembered how Kia was not aware that she was a goddess.
"Oh dear," she murmured quietly, realizing now would be the first encounter with an old friend she had deceived with her little disguise. There was not much she could do but confess, after all, it would be a step backwards for herself if she hid her wings and claimed Kia was seeing things now.
"It's all right, Kia, it's not fungus," Mtima admitted calmly, hoping to calm down the panicking lioness, "They're wings. My wings." It was sweet that Kia would be so worried about it, though.
