Chapter One:

The Girls Plan for Valentine’s Day

It was a peaceful day in the world of Ningenkai. As usual, Keiko Yukimura awaited the return of her sweet heart, Yusuke Urameshi. Sitting with her on this glorious, breezy day was Botan, the ‘Grim Reaper’ of the Spirit World who finally got a day off from her duties, and Yukina the ice maiden, who finally found out she was Hiei’s sister before the team had left on their mission. They were quietly sitting on a knoll of green grass in the park, having a nice picnic lunch and talking about Valentine’s Day, which happened to be tomorrow.

“Do you think Yusuke will like the home-made chocolate I made him?”

“Oh, don’t worry, I’m sure he will, Kei-chan,” Yukina said with a small giggle as she finished off her lunch. “Besides, you made it yourself right?” Keiko nodded. “See, it’s special.”

“Yeah, and it’s not everyday when you make Valentine’s Day chocolate,” Botan added. “Besides,” she started with a smirk, “home made chocolate given to a guy is considered honmei-choco.”

Keiko nearly choked on her drink as Botan and Yukina giggled harder. “Honmei-choco?... ”

“Hee hee, Botan’s right! Honmei-choco proves that you like him. Love him, maybe,” Yukina added with another quiet giggle. “And home made chocolate is definitely something special because you only really make it once a year, and it’s only for someone you really like or love! So therefore it’s honmei-choco!” Yukina giggled again. “And you really make it for one guy only, right? And that’s Yusuke.”

Keiko blushed. “Well, I guess. Oh, I hope he remembers that it’s Valentine’s Day.”

“Oh don’t worry, Keiko dear, with that home made chocolate he will,” Botan assured her.

“And what about you two?” Keiko asked eyeing Yukina and Botan suspiciously.

“What about us?”

“Aren’t you going to give some chocolate to a guy?”

Botan and Yukina blushed at the statement. “Weeeellll…” Yukina started.

“Well what?” Keiko prompted.

“I-” Yukina pressed the pads of her two index fingers together, making her look more shy and innocent as a blush spread on her cheeks. She blushed harder and looked at the ground. “I was-um- going to give some chocolate to-erm…”

“Who?”

“Um…” Yukina looked down and muttered, “Kuwabara-sempai.” Botan’s eyes grew wide; she had heard.

“You’re giving chocolate to Kuwabara?!” Keiko giggled as Yukina’s blush spread and she nodded shyly.

“Oh that’s so kawaii!” Keiko said, smiling. “I’m sure Kuwabara will love it!” Keiko glanced at Botan. “Well?”

“Well?...”

“Aren’t you giving chocolate to someone?”

“Um…maybe giri-choco to Yusuke and the group ‘coz they are friends and associates…” Botan’s blush spread. “And maybe some to Koenma…”

“Honmei or giri?” Keiko got right up into Botan’s face. “Tell the truth now.”

“Ah-ah- all right, you’re probably going to find out sooner or later…honmei,” Botan whispered.

“You like Koenma?!” Keiko and Yukina nearly screamed.

“When he’s in his older form…which he’s usually in now…he’s pretty hot…” Botan blushed more.

“Hee hee…” Keiko and Yukina giggled. Keiko suddenly looked at her watch. “Hey, I’ve got to go. Thanks for the picnic and chit chat!” Keiko got up and collected her bag. “How about we meet here same time tomorrow to see how everything went?”

“Oh yeah, that’d be great!”

“Good luck Kei-chan!”

“Thanks, you too! I’ve got to go, see you guys later!”
