The pure white albino wolfess slipped from her tiny den and out into the sunshine. For a moment she was blinded and then she twisted her tail upwards and arched her elegant back under the dappled sunlight.
Beautiful.
The day was truly wonderful, the sun seemed warmer and brighter than ever before and somewhere above her two songbirds were contesting against one another.
Lewana paused to try and find them in the leaves but her eyes failed her. Smiling to herself she paused at the den where Azmaria was staying but decided against waking her - if she was sleeping. She expected the poor girl would be tired and Lewana wasn't in the mood for teaching just yet.
She wanted to go sneak a peek at the new alphas. She had not yet been properly introduced to them and she was desperate to see who would be leading them.

The grey adult male was looking for the albino female. He knew the alphas had arrived but he hadn't met them nor did he care to yet. He wanted to see his aunt and her opinion on them first though he knew she would be bias in her opinion but she was his only family.
For now though he looked for the white female as he had been told to. He hadn't done so yet as the idea of being a babysitter was not what he found to be an interesting way to pass the time but he had a duty to do so and he could always learn something from her.
His eyes narrowed as he spotted some white not far from where he was and though he wasn't sure it was her, strangers weren't common so there wasn't anyone else it could be.
"Lewana?" He called out softly, half hoping it was her and half hoping it wasn't.

All she had to do was sneak through the trees, sneak around the dens and peek over at the alpha's den. It was easy enough to get to and she was sure she'd be able to get a view of them, maybe even meet one of them! How exciting! She had to admit, like Kalani, she was a little concerned about them. They were strangers after all and not used to being here, though Azmaria was a stranger and she seemed fine!
She slunk down onto her belly and was about to creep forwards when she heard her name being called.
Busted!
She flinched and her hackles stood on end in surprise, rather than anger, as she turned to see who called her. Oh, so it was Kalani. She did like Kalani, maybe because he was so similiar to Ola.
Kalani? What are you doing back there? You know your not supposed to be near our dens. Though strictly speaking, she was away from her 'holy clearing' now.

"Ola wanted me to watch you so I don't think it matters." It probably did matter if he was close to the dens but right now he wasn't too bothered. "She said you kept running off and need watching." He wouldn't not tell her, after all he wasn't just going to talk to the maiden without a good reason! He spent most of his life avoiding girls but then Ola had told him to go and search for a female.
"Where are you sneaking off to anyway?" He was curious, she was heading in the direction of the alphas but he thought she would have more sense then to be sneaking towards them. Who knew what they might be like? They could attack her or something. Granted it probably wouldn't be that dramatic but Kalani was cautious.

She raised her tail a little and peeked up at Kalani with the most innocent face she could conjure. Her pink eyes glittered with mischief, however, and it was clear that she had been sneaking off somewhere. Wow even Ola had noticed! She really did admire her intelligence.
I don't keep running off. She replied defiantly. I'm just exploring the territory, that's all. Her tail curled and she smiled. And I'm not sneaking anywhere. You're the one who's sneak-sying, Kalani. She tottered towards him and paused a few steps away, extending her head to snuffle at him.
Have you...have you met them yet, Kalani? By 'them' she meant the alphas.

He just smiled as she spoke, he couldn't help it. She was like one of those annoying pups that no matter what you couldn't stay angry at. He listened to what she said and laughed at the look in her eye. She was a character that was for sure.
"Them? You weren't going looking for them were you?" He guessed what she had meant after all who else could 'them' mean?
"You don't know what they are like, they could be dangerous! I haven't met them yet and I won't not without Ola or at least talking to her. She knows best she always has." He was being serious, very serious. He didn't trust the strangers and he wanted his aunts opinion first.

Her tail and ears drooped slightly at his accusation. It was clear that was what she had been thinking. She couldn't help it though, she was curious! So curious! She whimpered and skittered sideways impatiently then turned her head back to peer through the trees.
Oh please Kalani, they're probably okay. Ola has already gone to talk to them, they've been here for the last couple of days. She's been teaching them. What would Kalani say if she told him she'd made friends with another outsider.
She turned her eyes briefly towards Azmaria's den but brought them snapping back to Kalani again. If we go together, surely it'd be okay! You couldprotect me then! Her tail waved. If you want to get your own lady someday you need to practise at keeping her safe.

What had Ola been telling her? Her growled though not angrily, just annoyed.
"Fine but if we get in trouble this is all your fault." He grumbled. Yes he was curious but he also didn't want her giving tips on how to treat females. He would deal with that if and when the time came which would be soon. Ola told him to go once the Alphas were in place... and they were.
"Lead the way then. I suppose we have to see what they are like." He wasn't pleased with the idea but what choice did he have? She just seemed too innocent to say no to.

She bounced lightly on her paws and turned to lead the way, smiling to herself at Kalani. She would never get them into trouble! The pair of wolves had never really spoken much but she had become aware of his solitude. Atleast she had the Trinity, who had Kalani had? No one? Then why should he not meet the ones who were going to lead them. She was wise too, right? Wrong. Lewana was the symbol of innocence and she knew little next to nothing.
Kalani. I guess you'll have to ask permission now, if you want to breed that is. Do you think you might father the next holy wolf? She pondered. I mean...with your ties to Ola, it might be possible. She bantered casually whilst she walked.
In all honesty, relationships were something she loved to think about, even if it did hurt to do so. Now, finally she had the chance!

Kalani looked at her and smiled, "I might not have to ask permission, after all there is no one other then me to fight for a male beta position, so maybe thats what I will do." He pondered on the thought a little and felt a little better, if he was given a good position he might be happier with the new alphas, he didn't want to be cast aside.
"However, to have a litter I need a mate and that is something that I need to have pups." He laughed a little, he wasn't sure why maybe it was because he didn't want to show how lonley he was. Ola was going to send him off soon anyway though he didn't really want to go. He wouldn't disobey Ola though, that wouldn't be a clever thing to do.

She smiled at Kalani and nodded enthusiastically. You would make a good beta, Kalani! No joking, I mean you do know this pack well and you could be a very good advisor to the alphas. She nodded knowledgably. I'll root for you when that time comes. She was quiet then and then turne to faces, almost knocking noses with him.
Don't lose hope, who knows. With things going the way they are, maybe Cerridwen will guide a beautiful girl to you. She beamed and her great ears tipped forwards. You might be an old stick in the mud but there must be someone out there who can appreciate you. She laughed and wagged her tail cheerfully, arching her back before wheeling round and trotting onwards.
You definately need to learn some more gentlemanly manners. She gazed teasingly at him. You know...politeness and kindness, sensitivity, all that stuff us girlies like.

He wasn't sure about her rooting for him, after all how often had they really spoken but then she was right, he had been here a long long time and knew the pack well.
"Watch it!" He growled though there was a smile on his face, she was cheeky! Then what she said afterwards, was she trying to get him to snap or something? Oh the cheek that this girl had.
"Yeah right, you couldn't even teach me such things, after all you are just pure cheek." He had a huge smile on his face as he spoke, he couldn't help it. Though he wasn't good at being cheeky he could at least attempt to be slightly cheeky.

She skittered alongside the male, too innocent to be phased at all in what she said. She was being a little forward but she was too pure to know any better. She would never know the secret lives of mates of the pains of birth. Never. All she saw on the outside was soft nuzzles, a partnership. But she had that, not the nuzzles, but she had partnership and one that was greater than perhaps any other.
For she was the companion of a Goddess.
She swept her flowing white tail high and the sun made her ears glow pink. There was not a hint of colour on her pelt, so perfect it was. She had been born to be a Maiden, truly.
Of course I could. She replied, smiling with a pink tongue lolling. I'm a proper lady. Just because I'm young doesn't mean I don't know these things. Now, if I were to decide on a perfect male he would have to be gentle and kindly, protecting me from danger. A hero! She sighed dreamily and imagined a male like that.
He would be long in the leg, broad in the chest and have brilliant golden eyes that gleamed like the sun. When he smiled his teeth would shine and his tail would stream behind him as he ran. Perfect.
But, ladies like a bit of rebellion too, a little of the unexpected that keeps her on her toes. She bounced then. Otherwise you might become a bore. She turned towards him again to see if he were listening.
Are you paying attention, Kalani?

This was all far too confusing. Was she telling him her dream male or something because he knew no wolves like that but then he was the only male wolf he knew.
"Lewana, how many males have you met other then me? What you are saying sounds like some dream, not reality!" Yes that showed he was paying attention, didn't mean he was taking any of it in but he was listening. A wolf who was rebelious but not too much and protective and gah! He wasn't something that one could just order.
He looked at the pure wolfess and shook his head, "Dear Lewana I am sure I can handle a true female when she comes along." He wasn't trying to be insulting, just joking. After all she was a little cheek so why couldn't he be?

How many males had she met? Well not counting Kalani that would be...none. He was right. She had never spent any time around males and truly she had no idea what they were like. She just hoped they weren't as grumpy as Kalani, though it didn't matter. It wasn't like she would get to know them anyway. If she even looked at a male Ola would freak, though Kalanii didn't count.
Ola cared a lot for Kalani and trusted him, that much was obvious to anyone.
There's nothing wrong with a dream. She muttered quietly to herself, though heprobably would have heard it.
His last comment hit hard and though she did her best not to show it there was something sad in her eyes. She laughed, though it sounded hollow and snorted at him. Okay, okay. I'm sure you will. Then as an after thought she added.
I think I should probably go home. Ola might come looking for me and she'll be angry if she sees I've wandered off. The adventure of spying on the alphas had gone so instead she circled back on herself and turned back towards the dens.
If you see them, tell me what you think! And with that she was off, light on her paws.
