Sorry I don't know where this topic belongs, but I've been wondering this. Does Masashi Kishimoto approve of SasuNaru? It's everywhere so I'm sure he seen it. When he sees it does it curse at anyone in sight, go back to his house and make SasuNaru doujinshi and then throw it out, does he just not care for it? I"m really wondering so PLEASE TELL ME YOUR OPINION!
Sorry if you seen this before, but I really like to know!

I honestly haven't gotten around to asking him lately, but I think he would definately be ok with it, and probably support it as well.

Well, I don't know about SasuxNaru in particular but he CERTAINLY dosen't have4 a problem with yaoi/shonen-ai. It's common knowledge that he said that ZabuxHaku was his first shot at shonen-ai...

Well, if he did mind then I don't think there would be as much of it out there as there is.
Butch Hartman ( the guy who made 'Fairly Oddparents' and 'Danny Phantom') doesn't approve of slash which is perfectly reasonable. But some of his fans are just crazy. If you draw anything slashy or that has nothing to do with the cannon storyline (like Danny phantom kissing a female OC for example) and post it on Deviant Art, then some fans will go neo nazi on you and make your life a living hell. It's really stupid.
Anne Rice doesn't approve of any sort of fanfiction whatsoever and you can't even write fanfiction for her ' Vampire Chronicles' books or any of her other books. Try searching for it. It just doesn't exist and her vampire books are very well known. ( She wrote 'Interview with the Vampire')
Since authors retain full rights over their characters, they can do whatever they want with them. If they don't make you not draw/write things, then their crazy fans will.
Now to answer the question 'Does Kishimoto approve of it?' I personally would say that the term 'not mind' is closer than 'approve'. Approving of it would mean he likes it. That may be the case. Who knows? I certainly wouldn't find that unusual at all. We all know that Kishimoto likes to freak us out on a regular basis. But I think, aside from Naruto and Sasuke's deep emotional bond, that any seemingly gay nuances are put in there for the sake of humor. Until he actually says something about it specifically, then we can never know for sure.

being the past chapers that i've read, and of course every episode and chapter i've ever seen, he certainly knows about it... I really don't think he minds it, For example: in chapter 347, even if it was just for humor, he wouldn't draw it if he didn't mind it, though he's definitely manipulating us with the fanservice...but it works for me!

Indeed, and notice it was Sasuke and Sai, not Sasuke and Naruto. It's a total crack pairing, but I guess he did that because he assumed that they were the two most universally attractive guys in the series. If it had been Sasuke and Naruto it would have been EXTREMELY awkward for EVERYONE present at that ramen stand...except maybe Sai xd

I heard that the hints of BL are in there to make it more appealing to fangirls. I don't think that the Naruto series is truly yaoi/BL/slash.

I would love to read that interfiew. From interviews that I can remember, he said that the kiss between Naruto and Sasuke was more for shits and giggles than a discaimer about their sexuality. But I always had a feeling that Haku and Zabuza's relationship was more than a fatherXson that some people wish to view it as...

I'm positive that Kishimoto is SasuNaru positive. I mean, there's so many hints at some sort of relationship between the two, though it also leads me to wonder why he has Sasuke focusing everything only on his elder brother. Not to mention his unwillingness to let anything from the past go. Actually, you saw how close Sasuke was to Itachi when they were children, so I am I the only one who wonders about that? sweatdrop sweatdrop sweatdrop

Schoen Nacht I'm positive that Kishimoto is SasuNaru positive. I mean, there's so many hints at some sort of relationship between the two, though it also leads me to wonder why he has Sasuke focusing everything only on his elder brother. Not to mention his unwillingness to let anything from the past go. Actually, you saw how close Sasuke was to Itachi when they were children, so I am I the only one who wonders about that? sweatdrop sweatdrop sweatdrop Well, that can be explained. He was closer to his brother because he wanted the spot light from Itachi to rub off on him for once. In Sasuke's eyes, Itachi could lift a finger and his dad would warship the ground he walked. Sasuke was despraitly craving for that attention from his father. I would say that his mother had a better grip on giving both her sons the praise they both would need from a parent than the father. But that all changed once Itachi betrayed theit trust by masicuring the clan. Sasuke was envious and admired his brother, wishing to be just like him. But Itachi did something that stunted Sasuke's emotional growth. Sasuke is traped from the cold truth of reality and is at a stand still. The reason Sasuke can't let go of the past is because he is afraid of the future. He opened himself up to a "ravial" and ended up losing everything he loved. Subconciously he sees that if he opened up to friends, if they die, it will be his fault. If they betray him, it's his fault and their fault. Either way, e's ina bad spot. So because this is part of Sasuke's mind set, he really cannot see what he has in front of him. He has great friends and a lot of people who love him. But he will never be a good "lover" until he is able to resolve his issues with his brother. And personally, he is resolving them in the wrong manner.
