So, let's discuss Toph. How did she discover her ability to see through earthbending? When did she join Earth Rumble? Is she really blind, or is it all an illusion? How will her relationships change and develop in Season 3?

I think Toph probably learned to see when she was still relatively young, after she learned to walk. However, because of her parents' protectiveness, she probably didn't get the chance to learn how to walk until she was about four.
I think she probably joined Earth Rumble a few years ago, after teaching herself earthbending. It probably took a while for her to get accepted into the competition though. She probably had to convince them with an earthbending demonstration.

In the commentary for "The Blind Bandit" I think the creators said that Toph learned to "see" from some baby badgermoles. Appearently there was suppose to be an episode with a flashback of Toph wondering into a cave and playing with the badgermoles, but either there wasn't enough time to put it in, or there was never any reason.

Cheesymuffins In the commentary for "The Blind Bandit" I think the creators said that Toph learned to "see" from some baby badgermoles. Appearently there was suppose to be an episode with a flashback of Toph wondering into a cave and playing with the badgermoles, but either there wasn't enough time to put it in, or there was never any reason.

The Boogie Man may check under his bed for Chuck Norris, but Chuck Norris checks under his bed for Toph Bei Fong.
Toph Bei Fong once subbed her toe. The resulting damage destroyed all of the Air Nomads. The Fire Nation had nothing to do with it.
Toph Bei Fong and Iroh walked into a bar. The bar was instantly destroyed for that level of awesome cannot be contained in one building.
When asked if being blind disturbed her daily life, Toph Bei Fong only laughed and proceeded to bury half the earth in loose soil. These are now known as 'deserts'.

Toph is blind. I think that's what makes her my favorite character, even though she's disabled, she can kick anyone's a** she wants to.

I love Toph.
Like, a lot. xD
She's easily my fav. charactor.
I love how she can pull through in any situation, and get through strongly.
I'm also told that I look a lot like her (We have practicly the same hair style x3) and act like her xD
My friend dubbed me 'The Modern Day Toph' .__.;;

Toph is great character. What I like about her is she was a rich kid but not a spoil brat and she can fight.

Toph has always been one of my favourite characters, but I've really been loving her these past two episodes. First, she stands up for Zuko and gives him a chance, even after he had burned her feet. Then, she was freaking adorable in the flashback during 'Firebending Masters'.
Hopefully, we get to see more awesomeness from her in the new episodes.
