The band actually dates pretty far back. In 1996 Mike Shinoda and his buddies Brad Delson, Rob Bourdon recruited Joseph Hahn from the X-Ecutioners, Dave "Phoenix Orion" Farrell, and Mark Wakefield and started a band called Xero. But due to limited resources, the band was not able to get anywhere which prompted Mark to leave the band. And a bit later Phoenix also left the band to tour with Tasty Snax. The band changed their name to Hybrid Theory and began to look for a replacement vocalist to take over Mark spot. Jeff Blue, the vice president of Zomba Music referred Chester Bennington to the band. And in 1999 Chester left his band, Grey Daze to join Hybrid Theory. That year with Chester, the band released it's first actual album titled Hybrid Theory EP originally a demo tape. With the small success of the album, the band changed its name yet again this time to Linkin Park, a homage to Santa Monica's Lincoln Park. With the change of the name the band tried several times to be signed to a label but failed countless times. But eventually with the help of Jeff Blue, now vice of Warner Bros. Records, signed the band to the label. In 2000 the band sat down with Don Gilmore and began recording their actual debut album titled Hybrid Theory, a homage to their old band name. The band record the album without bassist Phoenix Orion so Brad Delson recorded all the bass parts. The band recruited two stand-in bass players Ian Hornbeck, and Scott Koziol. The album was released October 24, 2000 and with their first single One Step Closer quickly rocketed them to mainstream status. Following year the band head on their first tour titled Hybrid Theory and were able to remix their first album Hybrid Theory into ReaNimatioN. The album featured all the tracks from Hybrid Theory with also songs from Hybrid Theory EP. The album featured guests like Stephen Richards from Taproot, Jonanthan Davis, from KoRn, and Aaron Lewis from Staind. The album also marked the return of Phoenix Orion. The album was released July 20, 2002. With the release of that album thge band continued to tour but later in 2002 returned to the studio to begin works on their second studio album. The album's name was inspirired but a historic monastery in Greece. The album featured all of LP's old styles with innovative new guitar riffs and other parts like a Japanese flute music on the track Nobody's Listening. The album was titled MeteoRa and released March 25, 2003 instantly granting them worldwide recognition. Their first single Somewhere I Belong was released March 1, 2003 but was quickly criticized as not being "Linkin Park". But after the success of MeteoRa, the band started to go into different directikon. Mike had earlier talked to Jay-Z into doing a collaboration album later released as Collision Course. With that released, the band was momentarily disbanded as Mike left the band to pursue his own side project group named Fort Minor, which consisted of him, Takbir, and Ryu. A trio rap group and with the help of Jay-Z they released their debut album titled "The Rising Tied". The band spent most of 2006 writing and recording their third studio album. But the band this time spent lots of time reinventing their sound and strayed away from predictable sounds of old. On April 2, 2007 the band released it's first single and music video, What I've Become. On May 6 the band announced the release of their third album. And on May 14-15, 2007 the band released Minutes to Midnight. Although released, the band has stated that the album is in no shape or form yet complete.

Please don't attack me with Rabid claws for this but..

I really like Linkin Park, I have all their albums, but I do agree that the old stuff is better, but just like With KoRn, I love their old stuff and their new stuff, although Linkin Park is getting a bit to Mainstream for me.

But I just really liked their style in music, and I could really relate to their lyrics. Like i've said before all I really care about are the Lyrics of the band. If I relate to them, then I love them.
