Ushaufu grinned as he moved through the tall grasses of the southlands. He was bored and Siyo was asleep, a fitful sleep. It really creeped Usha out when Siyo had nightmares because he'd never had a nightmare before and didn't understand them.

Everything was going well so far, as far as he was concerned. He liked meeting new lions and he liked getting away with stealing others' food. He enjoyed swimming and lazing around and having no responsibilities at all; it was the good life.

He grinned as he spotted a termite mound ahead of him and climbed up it, sitting at the top. He was mimicking a cheetah; they used the mounds too look as far as they good. Sawa could see everything!

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Zuri crossed through the tall grasses lazily. It had been quite some time since Zuri had embarked on her adventure to find her missing family. Many times has the sun set and risen. For the most part, her journey has been dull and uneventful, she returned back to where she last saw her family, but they had already moved on, possibly even looking for her. Since then she has wandered north and south in hopes of spotting a glimpse of her mother or her brother, but no such luck has come. Zuri decided that it is finally time to head further west, back to the 'home' she once lived in, if she could find it.
From this journey, Zuri had already matured, not to an unusual point, she was still a kid at heart and physically. But she was independent for she needed to be independent in order to survive on her own. She knew that her body had grown, she was not the size of a cub no longer. Her mental independence was reflected in her appearance, she looked tough and prepared, although she was still recognizably a young adolescent.
Through the tall grass, Zuri lowered her body as watched a lion climbed to the top of a termite mound, seemingly looking at his surroundings. If Zuri learned one thing in her experiences it would be to steer away from strangers, they may be dangerous. Nonetheless, this lion did not appear to be too dangerous, he seemed rather young. Zuri remained silent, trying not to bring attention to herself, although she knew she was most likely very visible.

It wasn't long before he was looking in the female's direction. It seemed to take him a bit to actually spot her though, he was looking at every detail from single blades of grass to the fluffy clouds in the sky above the area. He had the time to do it, so why not? He didn't look at things closely all too often so now was a good chance.

And when he did spot her? His grin seemed to grow even larger. He slunk down from the mound and started heading her way, tail flicking back and forth carefully. He may have been immature in many areas but if there was anything he'd learned from his travels? Females were great! Even the ones that were hard to put up with and even the ones that seemed to hate him... well all females were great!

"Oy, hey there darling!" He called over, feeling rather confident (and being completely cocky) and if she didn't enjoy the greeting he could simply switch into 'friendly mode' instead of this 'overly friendly mode' he so often liked to start with when meeting others.

Zuri suddenly perked up, surprised, to say the least. What's going on? Is he talking to her? Zuri gave a momentary hideous expression of shock, but realized it probably didn't look too flattering on her, so quickly changed to a fake smile. Her eyes were wide open in shock, recognizing this all as an awkward situation.

"I'm sorry, but, what did you just call me?" asked Zuri, still in shock. She never has been called 'darling' before and didn't really expect to be called it. She was able to tell that the lion was not a threat and seemed friendly. A little too friendly in making his first impression.

"Who are you anyways?" asked Zuri, still trying to put the pieces together as to what is going on. She was a bit more angry now, not neccessarily at this strange lion, but at her confusion in what is happening. Zuri is one who likes to know what's going on at all times, being left out of the loop only gets Zuri upset.

Sawa had to hold in the laughter at her sudden surprise and hostile attitude toward him. It wasn't overly hostile or any of that, there were just hints of it. Well isn't this one feisty... His smile slowly cooled a few notches and he tried to put on a more civil (rather than leering) expression.

"Forgot it, I won't be sayin' that again, eh?" He asked, brows raising slightly and an apologetic smile peaking on his maw. Right. Friend mode.

"And my name is Ushaufu but I hardly be goin' by tha' any more, so call me Sawa!" He bowed his head to her and chuckled slightly. "Ah now it is only fair to return your own name, eh?"

"No," snapped Zuri. Just because he was kind to her didn't mean she had to be nice back, did it? Perhaps Zuri was just being too harsh. "I mean, its Zuri."

She wasn't sure if she really wanted him to know her name, but she knew she didn't want him to think she is cruel. Zuri looked down at the ground, avoiding eye contact with the lion.

"You from around these parts?" asked Zuri, still not looking at the lion. Maybe this lion may be able to help give her directions for her adventure or show her if there is anyting interesting to see nearby. Zuri had not taken any time to break or sightsee since the start of her journey, her last real break was in the very beginning at the 'sea pride'.

His brows shot up at her quick and snappy 'no' and a smile was barely suppressed on his face as she then told him her name. Zuri. It was short and snappy... and almost held the same essence of her personality that he was seeing in it. Or maybe he was just thinking too much about it!

As she looked down to the ground he moved forward a few steps, ducking down slightly to try and get her to look at him. She was a little weird, wasn't she? "Hmmm. I be from all o'er, now. Bu' yeah I was born in these lands." He wasn't exactly sure of where to be honest. "Done my fair share o'explorin' all there be to the rogue-lands and I seen some o'the pridelands... peaked in at the Kusini." He still had a lot to go, but he was young. "Why d'ye ask?"

"Well," said Zuri, then lifting her head to look at Sawa as she used her charm. If she were charming enough, maybe he'd be a bit useful. "Perhaps you can give me a little tour. Show me what's interesting in these parts. Could go for a quick meal too. Maybe we could tell each other about what we've seen, I'm pretty fascinated about learning of new places."

To Zuri, her adventure was more than just a search to find her lost family. She felt that learning was a key component in an adventure. If she just found her family and did not learn about anything on the way, then in Zuri's mind, the adventure would be unfufilling.

Sawa wouldn't need to be charmed too hard... he was a bit... easy to manipulate if a pretty lioness was involved. "Tour?" He repeated, almost dumbly. And then his options were clear and what he could gain... certainly visible. He wondered breifly if Siyo would care but then he decided he didn't care how Siyo would be effected by this matter. "A 'unt an'a little sight see'in, sounds won'erful. Sure I could." And his grin spread thinly across his maw as he watched her. "Firs'ly I think yeh should see the waterin'oles because those be most important." And he started to walk to the west some ways.
PostPosted: Tue Aug 14, 2007 9:35 pm

"I could definetly go for seeing the waterholes. Thanks," said Zuri with a broad smile. She was rather thirsty, it had been a while since she had a good drink of water. It seemed that Sawa was a lot more useful than Zuri originally expected him to be after all. Zuri followed after Sawa happily. "I'd only need a quick tour of the area, just point out the important places."

Oh the poor boy, if only he didn't realize she was only interested in learning the are, not really in having his company. He nodded to what she was saying but more or less wasn't hearing her words, he was too busy staring at her. After a minute something in his brain most of clicked and he coughed. "Oh, righ'righ." He stood and stretched and began to head through the grasses of the pridelands. "Yeh like swimmin' miss?" He asked slowly, glancing over his shoulder to her. He wasn't too fond of swimming but it gave him an excuse to keep glancing at her every now and then. Conversation was perfect for that sort of thing.

"I'm not much of a swimmer," said Zuri, underplaying her experience in swimming. In reality, she had relatively no experience in swimming, at the most she had only ever gotten part of legs wet while getting a drink from a drinking hole when she was a cub. "Though I guess I could go for a swim. Improve my skills. Maybe you could teach me?"

She hoped Sawa would say yes. Even though she only wanted a quick tour at first, Zuri quickly began to like Sawa's company. He had been nothing but really charming and sweet to her, it made Zuri somewhat happy to be with him. She him to be somewhat cute in a way. Though she'll keep that bit of information to herself. Probably best not to share publicly. Was it?

Her uncertainty made her feel slightly uncomfortable, causing her to involuntarily let out a quick light nervous laughter. Realizing an awkward moment may follow, she did her best to act nonchalant as if she didn't just randomly laugh to herself.

He blinked and his head tilted as he thought this over. Short tour and no swimming (because he wasn't a fan) or go swimming with an impossibly cute feline because she wanted help improving? Actually that answer was very simple. He gave he a charming grin.

"Actually it do be around the bes' time fer swimmin' I mus' say.." Although this plan might not have been the whisest because he wasn't a great swimmer either. But he did know how to swim. But seriously... there wasn't much Sawa wouldn't do if it meant spending a little more time with a pretty face.

"Oh, awesome! This is going to be a lot of fun, I'm so excited!" she exclaimed. She was really happy for such a simple thing as a swimming lesson, but to Zuri, it wasn't just a swimming lesson. It was spending more time with the new friend she had made. She grinned widely and happily as she picked up her walking pace so she was walking right beside her new friend.

If wiggling was considered manly he probably would have wiggled all over. His little darling (as he was beginning to think of her; the curse of being so obsessed with females) was excited! He wouldn't let her down! He'd be the best swimmer there ever was! Well... maybe not the best but he'd certainly get over his dislike of water for her.

"Ah!" He exclaimed, the watering hole was now in view. His stomach seemed to be tumbling in knots but he ignored it. "Now, d'yeh take yer time gettin' in tha wa'er or do ya just dive in?" He asked curiously, wondering which she preferred.
