With it being that time of the year when the fall line ups are announced we must decide how completley and utterly screwed Smallville will be. Smallville will be stayin on Thursdays at 8pm. Its going against FOX's "are you Smarter than a 5th Grader?" NBC's "My name is earl" and "the office" CBS' "Survivor" and ABC's "Ugly Betty".
In my opinion Smallville is completely and royally screwed. one of two things needs to happen for them to do decently in the ratings:
1. better written episodes
or
2. change time slots

confused Changing the time slot isn't going to make up for poorly written episodes. Anywho I'm just praying next season will be the last...

I can't see how they could possible have enough material left for an 8th season. Next season HAS to be the last one. As for the time slot issues, it's basically going up against the same composition is did this year so it should fare about the same way at first, but I agree that perhaps they should think about moving it. Perhaps putting Smallville in the Wednesday 8 time slot that ANTM usually fits in and put ANTM up against the big guns. That might fare better.

I can see how they might have enough material for a seventh season -- if they keep doing what they're doing now and drag things out that shouldn't be drug.
No, but seriously, Smallville could continue on to a season eight if we see a return to what made this show great in the first place. I'm not talking about specific characters or relationships, or about Clark using his powers or learning how to fly, but a spirit and a morality that is rightly at the core of every Superman media.
We don't have that, and we could have that, but the writing for this show is frankly so lazy I almost wish they'd just put us out of our misery.

I don't get it when people say "I wish they just cancelled Smallville." It annoys me. If you dislike it that much, don't watch Smallville. We need more heroics.

Guh, you know I don't mean it. I'm not gonna be happy the day SV is cancelled because they'll have all this stuff that they could have fixed and never did.
But if they really are never going to fix it... then yeah, I kind of wish they would cancel it, because I'm going to keep watching in hope that they do, and just be miserable.

I'd like to see a continuation. Maybe a show called Metropolis. Lol.
But yeah, Smallville is screwed. Everyone watches Ugly Betty or Survivor. They really need to kick it up a notch.

I heard the guy playing Lex didn't want to do the show anymore, if they get rid of him it is going to suck. You can't just change actors in the middle of a series!

as much as i hate to say this perhaps it would be better to end smallville with an amazing last season rather than continue to season 8 and totally mess up the series....end with a bam or fizzzle is the question... but that also means our guild will die next year too burning_eyes I cant even imagine that! the regulars better stay and post in the subforums mad xD
