Time had come and gone like the spring breeze that soon turned into the hot summer winds which baked the land and made some sunny days a bit too humid to go out and enjoy. Chu'mana had found herself restless. She hadn't seen Hok'ee or her children in a while, so she had taken to wandering the edges of the foresty area she and her mate called home.
Mainly sticking to the shade of the trees, she would wander occasionally out into the grassy plains just for a quick nibble of grass. And today that's where she found herself. But, she wasn't grazing like normal. Bright green eyes scanned the scenery around her. A small sigh escaping past her lips as she gave a small toss of her curly mane which sent the rainbow ribbon tied into it fluttering around untill it rested lazily against her head.
She missed having her family around and sometimes wished that her children were still foals. It was such a wonderful time watching them grow and play and it had really brought her and Hok'ee closer. They had a purpous and three little ones to care for. But not anymore. Her mind wondered how all her children were. Though Yiska tended to visit her more often than Vasu or Shadi.

Shadi smiled as she trotted happily through the grass. The breeze rippled through her curly mane and tail and ruffled her feathers lightly. That did not bother her though, it felt nice with the breeze blowing against her coat as she went. It was hot out and her dark coat soaked in the sun, because of this she was enjoying her little walk under the shade of the trees.
The young mare looked around, something about this place seemed really familiar. I know I have been here before.. Shadi thought to herself as she continued to go through the trees, but this time more slowly looking all around her as she went. As she went farther she was sure she had been there before. All of a sudden it hit her, it was the very same place where her mother and father called home and where she grew up. She laughed lightly at how stupid she was not to realize it before.

The sound of hoof beats coming closer drifted into Chu's ears as they swivled this way and that. Though she took little note of them. Must of been just some random Soquili wandering through. Though she wouldn't mind the conversation if they happened upon her.
Lowering her head, she nipped at the ends of the thin blades of grass that gathered around her. Her tail lazily moving back and forth as she grazed quietly. Though those hoof beats did seem to be getting even more closer which then she did take note of. Lifting her head, she eyed the area they were coming from. Fully expecting someone to burst out from the tree line.

Shadi continue walking through until she was close to the edge of the trees. Looking through the leaves she saw a dark colored figure not far away. She let out a curious little neigh sound and slowly made her way to the edge of the trees to get a better look at what was on the other side. Was it really..? She still could not tell for sure so she slowly walked out of the protection of the trees.
When she saw what it was she stood there for a moment. She then let out a surprised little whinny. It was her mother! She smiled happily as she walked over to her mother. "Mama!" She said softly and continued to smile at her.

Chu's eyes widened and her ears perked more as she saw a familiar face. It was her daughter Shadi. "Shadi!" The dark mare quickly clsoed the gap between them and gave her daughter a loving nuzzle and lick on the cheek. "Oh. I'm so glad to see you! It's been too long. Too long. How have you been? Have you been eating well? Meet any boys that I should know of?" At the mention of her daughter meeting boys, she gave a small giggle.

Shadi smiled and nuzzled her mother back. "I missed you mama. I really should try and visit you and daddy more often!" She said and nodded her head. She didn't mean to stay away for so long, it just happened that way it seems. She laughed lightly at all of her mother's questions and smiled.
Shadi sat down next to her next to her mother. "I have been really good." She said and nodded. "I have just been exploring the lands around here." She smiled up at her mother and nodded again lightly. "Yes mama, I have been eating just fine." Shadi said as she laughed again. "And as for boys, I would have to say no." This was true, she hadn't really met any boys yet, except for her brothers that was.
She smiled as the breeze blew through her new feathers and jingled her bracelets. Shadi looked up at her mother and smiled. "How about you, how have you been mama?"

Tucking her legs underneath his small body, Chu lowered herself slowly to the ground untill she came to a resting position on her belly. A little adjustment here and she found herself a comfortable way to lean so that she could look at Shadi. "Yes. You should. But we understand that you need your time away to have a life of your own."
A warm smile came to her lips as her daughter answered her questions. "I'm glad." Her eyebrow raised slightly as she gave her daughter a questioning look. "Well, you need to go out there and stalk talkin to them boys then! Besides your brothers I mean."
Her ears flickered around for a moment before she gave a small sigh. "I've been fine. Just a little lonely now that all of you are grown up. Sometimes I wish you three never had." Giving a sheepish grin, she lowered her head a bit in a bashful manner. It was true though. The time her children had been with her as foals seemed to have been a short one.

Shadi looked over at her mother and nodded slightly as her smile faded lightly. She felt bad for leaving them, really she did. She the look on her mother's face only made her feel worse. "I am sorry mama, really I am.. I promise to come around more often I promise." She said and nodded again as she made a little smile appear on her face before lowering her head.
When her mother started talking to her about boys she laughed somewhat embarressedly. "Mama... " She said as she looked up at her again. "I will meet some boys eventually.." She said as she laughed again lightly.
Shadi looked at her mother again and smiled lightly. "Well just because I am bigger doesn't mean I am not the same little girl inside. And like I said before.. I will try to visit more." She said and nodded again.

Shaking her head lightly, her curly hair bounced around her head and neck. "No need to be sorry, Shadi. It's all understandable. But I'm glad that you've decided you're going to visit us more often. I haven't seen your brother Vasu in a while. Perhaps I'll go look for him sometime later."
Chu gave a small giggle as she nudged her daughter lightly. "I'm only looking out for you honey. I don't want you to be alone or go through the troubles your father and I had. Just find a nice boy that will treat you good is all I ask."
"That's true. But you can't be the little girl all the time. There are times in life when you need to be an adult. But still, you'll always be your father and I's baby no matter how big you get." Her eyes closed for a moment as she felt the warmth of the sun rain down upon her dark coat, warming her skin. It was nice to have this social time with her children every now and again.

Shadi smiled lightly. "Well if you ever need to find me or just can't stand the loneliness anymore, I have been mostly staying with this two-legger and her two soquili by the beach." She said and nodded her head causing a strand of her curly hair to fall in front of her face. She shook her head lightly but it stayed there, she decided just to leave it since it was not bothering her too much anyway.
Shadi looked up at her mother and laughed somewhat lightly. "Don't worry mama, I am sure I will find someone eventually but for now I am content with how things are." She said and nodded her head again and smiled.
Although she had not been faced with anything in her life of a serious matter yet, she knew what her mother was talking about. "I know mama. " She just hoped that when the time came for her to have to be an adult she would be ready.

Chu nodded and gave another soft smile. "Alright. I'll keep that in mind. They're at least taking good care of you right?" The mare raised a curious eyebrow at her daughter. She tended to worry about her children more often than not with where they were staying or who they were hanging around.
Nuzzling her daughter, she laughed lightly. "I know, I know. Just looking out for you. Of course, you know once you find a boy you're father will want to meet him." Another small giggle and a shake of her head. Hok'ee could be so scruitinizing sometimes.

Shadi nodded her head and smiled back softly. "Yes mama, the two-legger is really nice to me. She even gave me these items." She said gesturing a little to the feathers and jewelry. "I haven't really spent any time with the two soquili also living with her, but I am sure they are great."
Shadi began to laugh at the picture she got in her mind of her father interogating a poor innocent stallion. "Do you think my dad would be able to get along with any stallion I might begin to like, in the future that is?" She said as she looked up over at her mother as she laughed again lightly.

"I'm glad. It would be terrible is the two-legger wasn't taking very good care of you. I'd have to go track them down and have a word with them." Chu nodded her head affirmingly before eyeing the feathers and jewelary her daughter wore. "They're very lovely, Shadi."
She giggled and smiled widely as her daughters question. "I'm sure, as long as he treated you right. Your father can be a bit overbearing at times but that's only because he wants to see you all happy. As do I."

Shadi laughed and smiled lightly. "Well she is really nice, although I have yet to meet the other soquili that stay with her at the teepee. I hope they are all nice as well." She said and nodded.
Shadi laughed again still having the picture of her father and some stallion in her mind before listening to her mothers words quietly. "I know that you guys just want me to be happy and I love you both for that. And besides it is not like we have anything to worry about. That would not be any time soon anyways."

"I'm sure you will meet them in time." She gave another small nod of her head as she relaxed against the ground. Her body weight spreading out evenly onto the ground as she gazed upon the scenery around them.
Eyeing Shadi out of the corner of her eye, she smiled. "You never know, Shadi. Some stallion could come out of no where and sweep you off your hooves. Hopefully you won't have to go through the trials that your father and I did when we were trying to build a relationship with one another."
