A young leopon cub lay stretched in what little sunlight he could get. He soaked in the warmth, relishing it's feel on his purple coat. It was rare to find patches of light like this in the jungle, with the trees being so thick and large. Even this was only a small ray, covering the back half of his body, starting at his midsection. Either way, it was a nice way to thaw out from the cool shade of his home. Not that he minded the shade; the intense bright light the rays brang made him wonder how any creature could live outside the shelter of the jungle. One thing was for absolute certain: he was never leaving this paradise. With all the lush green plants and the mystically colorful flowers, who could ever want to run away? Maybe it was just a leopard thing, to want to be surrounded by something so perfect as this place. Perhaps it was the othr creatres who left, and the leopards who stayed. At the thought of that, though, the youngster grew a little uncomfortable. He wasn't a leopard, after all. Only half. What a bugger.
Pushing the unhappy thoughts out of his head, Mezi opened his eyes to stare at the stream beside him. He wasn't thirsty; he had just sort of felt like being near the water. He didn't even like going into it. Perhaps it was the soothing sounds that had drawn him there? It was quite the contrast from his mother's temper. You need a little peace in your life, after all, and this was the closest he could get to such a thing. The only possible thing that could make the scene better was a leopard or two, and possibley some more flowers.

Hera was humming and humming with such joy that all around her the birds seemed to sing along, though it was more likely her humming was for them. Her tail waved high, swishing in time with each note. Oh it truly was a beautiful day in her jungle kingdom.
A few more strides on and her singing came to a stop, faced with a shallow creek that wound through a gap in the trees. It glittered in the sunshine enticingly but the leopard knew better. Water was good to drink but not good to swim in. It could be dangerous! So heeding her mother's words the little Queen leapt up into the boughs of a low tree, using her claws to totter tentatively along the branch.
"Oh the bees went buzz and the flowers waved~" She sang as she readied herself to jump from one branch to another.
One, two, three!
She put her weight on her hind legs to help push off but at the last minute felt her hind paws slip out from under her. With a squeal of horror the little Queen slipped from her perch and tumble a couple of feet into the water below.
"Ah!" She squealed, bouncing in the shallow water as if it threatened to swallow her.

It seemed that his peaceful image of the stream and leopards was not at all what he was going to get. After a deep, content sigh, with birds chirping merrily and flowers swaying in the light breeze, all hell broke loose right in front of him. A young leopardess came crashing out of the sky, almost like magic, and landed in the water. The leopon pulled his head up abruptly, his body jolting into a stiff half lying/half standing position. He was caught between a cub's instinct to flee, pure curiosity to just watch, and the slight urge to help. He was paralyzed by all the options, and so did nothing except stare blankly at the sputtering red figure. Boy, would he hate to be in her position. A stream was no place to play. A food and water source, sure... but not a playground. It was a bit dangerous, and then your coat got saturated. It just wasn't enjoyable. Then again, it didn't seem like she had meant to go in.. where did she come from, anyway?
Curiosity won the battle, and so he pushed up into a sitting position and warpped his tail around his paws comfortabley, watching the show. He wasn't much of a gentlemen, anyway. "Hey... you okay?" He doubted she would drown, since she was headed for the shallows. It might've been a painful fall, though.

"Ahh~Ahh! Hee~lp!" She paused mid-splash to glance towards the bank and her eyes widened as she caught sight of the little purple boy sitting there. Just sitting there watching her.
She stood still them raised her dripping tail out from the water and huffed. Water dripped from the fur on her chin and ran down to dangle at the tips of her whiskers.
"What sort of prince are yoo?! Not rescooing me!" She demanded crossly as she splashed towards him. She paused just before the bank and sniffed. For a moment it looked like she might be genuinely annoyed and then a big smile crossed her maw.
She reared up and brought her forepaws crashing back down into the water, hoping to splash the little leopard boy who had been watching her.

Mezi couldn't help but smirk when the young leopardess suddenly stopped. So it had all been an act? The funny things cubs'll do just for attention. Not like he was innocent, though. The purple leopon was an almost chronic liar, and cared far too much about what others thought of him. He raised his brow a bit when she actually spoke, though. Rescue? Prince? Had he missed the start of some game here? The idea of playing with a full leopard cub was both a bit confusing and exciting at the same time. He had always assumed leopard cubs were too 'cool' to just be cubs and play, but apparently he had been wrong. No one is too cool to play.
He sported a genuine frown when the red cub splashed his way, looking very upset. First time meeting a full leopard cub, and he had already screwed it up! The smile came almost too fast to register before he was soaked to the bone with water. He jumped out of his skin, his claws trying to grip onto anything in midair. Nothing came to his rescue as he went crashing back into the damp dirt. "COLD." He shivered and breathed hard, disliking the feeling of wet fur on his skin. "Yooouuuu." A playful look took over his features and he went crashing towards the little leopardess, ready for a pounce.

Hera's giggle of delight seemed to be joy itself as she saw the other leapoard join in the game. At this stage in her life she would have thought any cat similar size a leopard so truly it didn't matter. She had never met anyone else other than her family and mother. She didn't even know her father existed.
"Eeee!" She gave one of those high-pitched girly screams and tried to dart out of the way of the purple prince who was getting ready to pounce her.
"Help, help! Someone save me! The prince has gone mad!" She giggled again, for this indeed was a game, her favourite game. She did have quite an imagination.

Being the young leopon that he was, Mezi under shot with his pounce, and face planted into the stream. He came back up sputtering, his fur clinging to his body in a most unpleasurable way. He had to get out of the water, but the cub in him wanted to continue this game. His imagination wasn't quite as great as Hera's was, so it took a moment to grab onto the idea of tag. With an excited smile on his face, he rushed forward and swatted out towards the red female with a wild grin. "Tag!" He pivoted on his back heel and darted from the water, scrambling on the bank towards the grass. He didn't get very far before he tripped and, once again, face planted. How great, he muttered to himself in his thoughts. I've blown it in front of a LEOPARDESS. Not only was she a full leopard, but she was playing with him. What were the odds of that? It was such an ego boost, he had hardly noticed his ego. He almost felt like he wasn't a half-breed while playing. It was so... care free!

"Wheee!" Hera squealed and whirled on him as he tagged her. So this little oddly-coloured leopard did know how to play! Already she was forgetting her mother and how she might be worried. Instead the girl could only think of the fun such a game could bring.
There was no need for polite communication between cubs. They could play and play genuinely whilst still being happy and knowing little about one another.
She was chasing after him when he tripped and gave a small squeak of surprise. She tripped up over him and went tumbling head over heels, landing in a heap a little way ahead of him.
"Oh dear! Yoo clumsy! Me clumsy!" She giggled then and got to her paws, wiping the dust from her forelegs with a swipe of her paw. Then she lowered herself again and got that look in her eye that would tell the other that the game wasn't over yet.

The youngster pushed off the ground and into a sitting position to watch the female go into a playful stance. He knew what that meant, and his eyes quickly darted around for someplace to run to. The only thing nearby was a tree, and he couldn't climb. How embarassing would it be to try to scrape his way up a tree and just slide back down? There was only one other option, and it was something that Mezi didn't do that often. His siblings weren't a playful bunch, considering most of them just wanted to stay out of dear ol' Mom's way, much less worry about playing games.
At that moment, however, he wasn't with his mom. And he wasn't with his siblings. He was with a leopardess cub he'd never met befoe. He didn't know her her name, she didn't know his, and neither knew anything about the other's life. It added a bit of freedom to the play, and allowed the cub that had to mature too fast for his own good to take a step away from his complicated world and just be what he was: a cub. Dropping to the ground, his rump and tail shaking playfully in the air, the purple leopon prepared for the pounce with a smile on his face.

(( That's okay dear <3 no worries! I hope your exams went well! ))
Yay so he was intent on joining in! Great! She slid forwards a little, shifting her forepaws in the dirt so she could have a good lift off. She was a dreamer a sweetheart, there was no bad bone in her body. She had never learnt about pain or fear or sadness. She knew only her mother's love and of the jungle that was her home.
Everything in it was beautiful and perfect and she was a leapoard, queen of it all - or so her over-active imagnation liked to believe.
With another giggle the little girl launched herself. Like most cubs she was learning all the time, exercising her instincts with games like this. Soon she would be climbing the trees as easily as if she were a part of them and hunting prey amongst their leaves and roots.
"Ha!" She pounced towards him, both forepaws outstretched to try and pin him to the ground.

((ooc I'm so sorry again. The finals are all over now, though. <3 It'll go way speedier now, I promise.))
The purple and red bodies fell to the jungle floor, purple on the bottom. Pouncing was obviously not his strength, and now he was pinned with nothing to do but squirm as much as he possibley could. He writhed around beneath Hera, giggling as he did so. "Not fair," he choked out between laughs as he attempted to push her paws off of his shoulders. She was hardly heavy; it was almost certain that he weighed more than her, with his half lion blood. She apparently had better playskills than he, though. That wasn't too surprising, seeing as he never really romped around with his siblings.
Finally, the idea to roll over came to the cub. He stopped wiggling and simply smirked up at the female. Then, with as much power as he could muster in his awkward position, he placed his front paws on her shoulders and pushed to the left, attempting to roll himself on top.

Victorious!
She gave a small 'squee' of surprise and joy as she felt his fur beneath her pads and realised - much to her surprise - that she had him pinned. He wiggled then and her slipped on his chest as she tried to get a good hold on him without using her claws. It proved a difficult task.
Then suddenly he stopped and she opened her mouth to ask what was wrong when he was rolling. Her front paws slipped and she toppled over, landing on her back with her paws flailing wildly.
"No fairrr~" She whined. "I was winning!" But she couldn't help but giggle.

He hadn't really thought the roll would work, but when he came out on top he couldn't help but swell with pride. His chest puffed a little and he grinned widely; he had done it! He carefully held his paws on her shoulders as he laughed a little, trying to apply just enough preassure to keep her there, but not so much as to hurt her. It was far harder than he had originally thought. Since both of them were wet, and his feet were now mud soaked, it was difficult to get a could grip on her fur.
"Yeah, but now I am." He smirked a little, getting a little too proud. His ego, ever his enemy, swelled with his pride and he stopped trying to hold her down. Instead, he was more like limply keeping his paws on her shoulder. He hadn't exactly gotten into the whole play-time swing quite yet.

She giggled then but her face took on a more thoughtful expression as she tried to think of a way out of this predicament. It took her only a second to decide on a way and as quick as she could she curled up her hind legs to press both of them against his stomach. Her fur was still soaked through but she didn't seem to mind about that now, nor the mud.
She wasn't the vain sort and a little bit of mud and water never hurt anyone. Her mother would wash it off later so that was one thing she didn't have to worry about till she was older and had to take care of her own fur.
Anyway, with as much might as she could muster she pressed upwards with her hind paws against his stomach.
"Maybe the queen cam beat the king after all!" She squeaked as she tried to wriggle free.

Mezi never saw the move coming. As she applied preassure, he flipped backwards into the mud. He wasn't exactly vain either, he just had some ego problems. The fur issue, however, had more to do with a personality quirk than with his self esteem. The young leopon simply hated the feeling of being unclean. Sure, he lived in a Jungle, and he was neer truely and completely clean, but he was usually as groomed as he could get. His mother didn't take care of the job for him, though; he had to do it himself. She wasn't that kind of a leopardess.
His back now coated with the oozing brown gook, there was nothing left to do but ignore it and continue the play. "I don't think so!" He laughed and flung himself from the mud with a slosh sound, but missed Hera by at least a pace. He landed next to her in the dirt face down. Slowly, he raised his head. "Or..." He spat some dirt from his mouth. "Maybe not."
