Kiefer felt a bit frustrated. He hadn't seen his family in some time, but he didn't want to. Or did he? He knew his mother and sisters would want him to come home, but each day when he said 'I will go visit' it just didn't happen.
Even being seperated from home, he still felt his family holding him down. He loved his sisters more then most anything, as well as his parents. But with such a good, large family, he felt like if he wasn't in constant contact, it was disgraceful.
Had he been making an effort to seperate himself? Maybe. Yes. Definetly. He didn't want to go back. He wanted to see them, but the thought of going back to his old hime just made him sick. The feeling of being free was wonderful, but would he always have to feel like he left something behind that he should want back, but didnt?

Daveigh stood at the edge of a pond staring down into the water but she wasn't looking at the water she was looking at herself or more precisely her reflection. She was still not used to seeing a horse staring back at her when she looked into the water. Of course she wasn't sure she'd ever be used to it. At least now she was able to stand without falling. With just a little practice she had the hoof thing down now anything beyond walking she wasn't as good at but she was getting there.
Thinking about her old self brought about memories of her family. Her mother, father, her brothers and her sister. She missed them terribly and it didn't seem like she'd get to see them again for a long time. So far she had yet to find even a clue of a way to return home and the chances she would were dwindling. A tear slowly made it's way down her face and landed in the water causing small ripples that disorted her reflection. She'd been so close to her family that being seperated from them even for the short time she'd been here was agony. All she wanted was to return to what she had been and return to her family.

Kiefer walked slowly over to a nearby pond, and drinking to quench his thirst that he realized that he had. He had wandered so far from home at this point, would he really be able to go for a quick visit? It had been so long, and he was constantly going away, it would take a good few days to get to them.
He looked up, just now noticing a mare next to him. He saw her reflection in the water ripple as if it had been disturbed, and she looked rather distressed. Or sad at the very least. What would be wrong?
"Are you OK?" he asked, unsure if it was really any of his bussiness to be bothering her. But of she was hurt, or if something else had happened that he could help with, he didn't want to just leave here there. Then again, maybe asking her was still a bit out of line. She didn't look injured at all, although she didn't look particularly at ease in her stance, like she was stiff or something. Maybe she had been hurt?

Daveigh was completely shocked by the appearance of the stallion. She quickly stepped away from pond almost causing herself to fall on her rump. Blinking away her tears Daveigh shook her head. "I'm fine." She replied as she did her best to get the evidence of the tears off her face.
Turning her gaze on the stallion she looked him over. Beyond Yukio she hadn't seen another stallion much less talk to them. Despite that she wasn't threatened by him and he was being kind to her. As a feline she would have more than likely been kicked by him by now. "Well I'm not completely fine... I-I miss my family..."

Kiefer took a step back, a bit surprised himself as she fell back. She said she was fine at first, but he had a feeling she was not. He hadn't ever met a mare so on edge before, and he hadn't ever had to deal with one either. This would be interesting.
Oh, so she missed her family. He could relate, or at least he thought he could. "Sorry to scare you like that...I'm Kiefer" he said, wanting to be as friendly as possible, particularly since he had obviously taken her by surprise.
"Family, eh? I know how you feel. I wandered off from mine quite a while ago, maybe too far to go back anytime soon. But I miss them...I guess" he said, still unsure about that. Of course he enjoyed their complany, but he didn't really feel a longing to see them again. It might not even be worth the walk.
"What kind of family, might I ask? Have you children and a mate, or perhaps your parents and siblings?" he asked, once again unsure if it was in his rights to ask such questions. But really at this point it didn't matter to much, he could only make the situation more akward.

Daveigh peered at Keifer her ears perked high. At his appology she shook her head. "It's alright. I was just deep in my thoughts." She replied to him. Listening to him speak she noted what he said carefully. He'd left his family but the way he spoke he didn't seem to concerned about having left them. She wished she was like that right now then maybe her heart wouldn't be tearing her apart.
At his questions her ears fell back against her head and she glanced away from him. Thinking of them made the tears want to return. "I had... I had all of that. I had parents and siblings and children and a mate. We all lived in one big den. My mates family lived with us too along with a few others that needed shelter. We were all one big family... Very close." Daveigh said and she closed her eyes and sighed. "I don't know if I'll ever get to see them again."

Kiefer swished his tail back, unsure how he could possibly console the poor mare.He felt terrible for her, and had never delt with that sort of loss. But how was it that she would never see them again? She didn't make it sound like they had ALL passed away, and that was also quite unlikely that something like that happened. No, it seemed more like she was the one missing out.
"I'm...sorry" he said, suddenly feeling very sad. How depressing it would be to loose his family. "I wish I could do something to help. Why won't you be able to see them again, though?" he asked. There he went again, asking questions that seemed so obviously out of line. But if he were to help her, he would need to know it at least. Maybe she overlooked something, or he knew another way to reuninte her with her family.
Or maybe he was just a rude, nosey stallion that was too curious for his own good. He hoped it was the first. Kiefer suddenly felt terrible for not apprechiating his family, as well. He could go and visit them as he pleased, she might not ever get that chance.

Daveigh sighed as her whole body seemed to droop, even her mane which was actually a bit bouncy with the braids in it. Tears welled up in her eyes but they didn't fall as she did her best to keep them in check. She didn't like crying in front of someone but talking of her family was enough to make her even if she didn't want to.
"I won't be able to see them again because they don't live around here..." She said her expression looking very apprehensive. "In fact they're not even this species..." She said not sure if she should go on. Her story was a crazy one and probably was impossible but it happened to her or at least she thought it had.

Kiefer saw the mare's eyes begin to shine, a face he had seen so many times on his older sister just before she was about to start having a sobbing fast. This mare seemed to not want to cry though, so he pretended not to notice.
"Well I am sure we could visit them, they can't be too..." he stopped. Different...species? Like...they were unicorns or kalonas? That wasn't a problum...or did she mean different species like.... how familiars were, like his father's, Bae.
"Different species?" he asked, not wanting to outright accuse having lost all her marbles. Something about the mare's voice though made him want to belive her. But if it was indeed what he thought, as in a completely unsoquili like species, that was impossible, wasn't it?

Daveigh sighed and moved her gaze to her hooves. Not so long ago her hooves had been paws. She remembered it. The memories were absolutely flawless and she knew they were real. They had to have been. "I doubt you'll believe it but my parents were lions and we all lived in a huge land nothing like this. It was extremely hot everyday, there were little to no trees and the grass was almost always a light brown color."
"I was a lion too but one night I went to sleep with my pride and the next morning I woke up here. I don't know where here is or if here is anywhere near where I used to be or if I'm even on the same planet." Daveigh said as she brought her gaze up and looked up to the sky and the light puffy clouds above. "My chances of finding my family are slim to absolute none. Unless by some weird chance they ended up here too."

"Oh...well..." he said, a bit taken aback by her saying she used to be a lion. Now THAT was weird. He had barely met any lions around here, exept for Baem and he was just annoying, and quite unlike any soquili he had ever met. Was this mare telling the truth, or was she simply insane?
"Well...that is really tragic...I..maybe they are around? Don't lose hope" he said, trying to sound supportive, or at lesat taht he belived her. Honestly, it was so far fetched that he wasn't sure he could. Then again, stranger things have probubly happened. And something about her voice made him think otherwise.
"But if you never see them again..." he said, unsure how to aproch this, "Just remember that I am sure they miss you dearly, and know where ever you are, you do too. And...I mean, it is kind of bad for you, but I would hope they were still...erm. Lions. Because then they are together, and I bet they are sad with out youu, but at least they have eachother. You don't...but better you then one of your children"
Oops, that came out wrong didn't it. But it was the type of thing his mother would have said, about how mothers always worry about their children more then they worry about themselves.

Daveigh looked at Keifer now and quirked a brow at him. She could tell he wasn't believeing her and well she didn't blame him. If a lion had shown up at her pride when she was a lion and claimed to be a horse her pride would have laughed that lion out of the pride's lands.
"I know if I never see them again then there's nothing I can do and advertising to everyone that I'm a used to be lion may as well get me registered as insane. Please don't tell anyone what I've told you. There won't be many that will believe it if any at all. I'm more than sure you don't believe me but I'm actually not the only one who this has happened to. I know of one more. I met up with him yesterday. He and I are from the same pride. Knowing he is here makes me wonder if others did get sent here I just don't know for sure."

Kiefer shifted uncomfortably on the ground. He wanted to belive her, he really did. But it was just a bit too much for him to wrap his head around and legitimatly belive. Just way too much.
"Course I won't tell anyone. Wouldn't want anyone else to think you are insane" he said with a smile. Kiefer found himself often trying to solve problums with humor. Sometimes it worked. Usually it didn't.
"Well, that is good then...because that means there is a chance your family is around, and you just havn't found them" he said, trying to stay positive. But really, what would he want to hear if he knew the odds were high that he would never see his family again? Weather this mare was crazy or not, her pain was clearly real, so it didn't really matter, did it?
