((Try this again, shall we? XD!))
Duranjaya was keeping track, however vaguely, of just how far he was from his teepee where Wachiwi was weaving. But as such a young colt and as a very EXCITEABLE colt on top of being so young... Well, Duran couldn't keep track for very long. But he was sure he'd find his way, because of the path!
Duran glanced back, to make sure said path was still there, and then nodded sagely. The path. He looked ahead again, and then looked around curiously. It was so pretty out here, instead of being cooped up in his basket. Duran wondered if he'd ever get tired of it. ... He hoped not.
Grinning ear to ear, Duran started to bounce down the trail he'd been following for some time now, keeping an eye out for anything of interest. Especially, perhaps, another Soquili!

The time, the day... She didn't know any of that. Only that she had managed to sneak away from the teepee while Chayton had busied himself untangling some sort of creature from his fishing net. Hadn't the net been there to catch animals? She didn't quite understand why he would be untangling everything, but then again, humans were strange.
Tay felt exhilarated at the wideness that surrounded her. The path that seemed to stretch out forever before her, and the vast expanses of grass that carpeted the land on either side of the track. She waggled her tail as she broke into a trot, grinning. Being out always made her happy.
Her delicate nostrils flared as the wind brought something familiar to them. A scent! She sniffed again and her ears perked in confirmation. Someone she knew was out there!

Duranjaya continued his little exploration down the path, until a scent hit his nose. Nostrils flaring, he sniffed again, and grinned a little. Whatever it was, he knew it. Duran started to trot down the path, following the scent, until he spotted a figure a little ways ahead.
Not quite close enough to tell just who it was, Duran did the next best thing. "Hey!" He called, slowing to a walk as he neared the mystery Soq. Who couldn't be too much of a mystery, since he definitely recognized the scent.

It was annoying not knowing who it was, she had to admit, and she trotted forward a little bit more and suddenly recognized the brown shape. "Psh. It's only Duran." She joked, sounding convincingly disappointed. She was glad she had met her brother, though. It saved the hassle of actually making friends before being able to hang out.
She trotted the rest of the way and tossed her delicate hear in greeting. "Duuuran!" She enjoyed dragging out the first syllable of her brother's name, even if it could be annoying sometimes, even for herself.

Duranjaya grinned when he heard the jibe, too sure that his sister was pleased to see him despite her disappointed tone. It showed in his wide toothed grin, and how he trotted to meet her. He grinned and nodded his head in greeting to her toss, beaming.
"Hi Tayoo." He greeted, beaming at her. Duran didn't even cringe at the dragging of his name, it was his sister, she was supposed to do stuff like that to him! He bounced in place in front of her, beaming. "Whatcha doin' out here?" He asked curiously, looking around.

Tay grinned. Her brother was perhaps the only creature alive that she may have allowed to call her Tayoo. Indeed, if anyone else had called her anything other than Tay, they might have found themselves with dusty hoof marks and a sharp twinge in their shoulder for the rest of the day. "Oh, well... I snuck away, cause y'know, the teepee's just so boring sometimes." She waggled her tail cheerily.
"What about you? Did you sneak out too? Duran! That's not very gentlemanly of you, now is it?" She reprimanded him without waiting for an answer. After all, she was his sister. And she had a license to be annoying. Of course, every since they had emerged from their baskets, the four of them, the tomboyish little filly had more or less attached herself to her brother. And it made sense, of course. He was a colt, and she didn't much like fillies.

Duran blinked at Tay, and grinned a little, amused that his sister snuck away. "Aww, I thought you just came to find me." He gave a fake pout, then laughed, and bounced around his sister, grinning a little.
Duran tried to interrupt Tay's reprimand, and didn't get a chance. He laughed, and shook his head at her. "I didn't sneak away!" He grinned. "I went exploring. Different, you see." He nodded in a wise-in-the-way-of-worlds manner, and looked around. "'Cept there doesn't seem like much to explore." He snorted.

Tay shook her head. "The evidence says otherwise," She said matter-of-factly. "I was out here first, see?" She added, just to reinforce her earlier words.
"Aww, well explorin's just a real polite way of saying you snuck out!" She argued, sounding mightily put out that her brother might have confused the two. "Not different, same! Just politer." She nodded, a solemn expression of wisdom on her face.

Duran snorted at her, and grinned. "Well, we found each other, and that's what matters." He nodded to her, grinning, and looked around again. "Did you see anythin' interestin'?" He asked, looking over. "Other than me, of course." He gave a cheeky grin to his sister.
"..." Well he couldn't really argue with that logic. "Well... yeah. But you're supposed to be polite right?" He grinned innocently. "Anyway!" He turned, and looked one way, then another. Then he seemed to make a decision. "Follow me!" And he leapt off the trail, and started to trot further away from it. Exploring!

"Oh, nooooo," She said sarcastically with a laugh. "You were by far the most interesting thing." She rolled her eyes and grinned. "Apart from me of course. But then I see myself every day. If I knew just how interesting I looked I'd probably never be able to get anything done just staring at myself!"
She shook her head gently. "Says who we're supposed to be polite?" She said, sounding solemn as she turned and followed Duran down the trail. "Are you sure you didn't just pick a path you knew...?" She said doubtfully.

"Preeeetty sure!" Duran replied over his shoulder, glancing back at Tay after a minute and grinning. "What would the fun be in that." He snorted, and turned back, continuing on his way with an odd determination to discover SOMETHING new. And knowing his luck, he would.
Probably by tripping over it. But he would.

"Pfft. Well given your sense of direction... We wouldn't want you to be lost out here, now would we?" She shook her head and grinned, drawing up so that she was trotting along beside him. "You know, I don't really like that look..." She said doubtfully, eyeing her brother. "You'll probably hurt yourself trying to find something new. Maybe not today, but someday." She giggled at the thought of Duran tripping and falling over the 'something new' he always seemed ot be searching for.
