He's definitely entertaining. I do not know if I would call him my favorite, but his works were a whole lot more funt o read, act out, and do projects on than many of the other things we did in middle school/high school.
I have to say my favorite was "The Cask of Amontillado." (sp?) "The Tell-Tale Heart" also creeped me out. I loved reading his stuff. Though, I have to admit, "The Monkey's Paw" by W. W. Jacobs terrified me more than any of Poe's work for some reason. ^^;

He's okay. Personally I think he's kind of loony... but it's not really a bad thing.
I have read many of his poems and stories (too many to list), and I own a couple of his books. His writing dont really frighten me but I'm kind of used to his work.
I've also read The Monkey's Paw
My favorite Edgar Allan Poe storie would have to be Premature Burial
It is entertaining to study his work and try to find deeper meanings in his writing

My favorite is Hop Frog. "'I now see distinctly,' he said, 'what manner of people these maskers are. They are a great king and his seven privy-councillors - a king who does not scruple to strike a defenceless girl and his seven councillors who abet him in the outrage. As for myself, I am simply Hop-Frog, the jester - and this is my last jest'" Man, that creeps me out every time.

I love Poe's writing. Each sentence is so expertly crafted, his talent with words makes every paragraph a real delight. I absolutely cannot select favorites when it comes to his stories and poems - I love them all.

the problem with poe is that if you try to read a story of his that is not widely known there is usually a reason most of them are the victorian crap that i have become used to from that time

I like him. His story the Cast of Amontillado is definatly my favorite. His stories are twisted enough that you have to pay attention or you miss the meaning.

You guys are so boring...you should read some of his stuff that isn't famous even with people who don't like him. You'll get a better understanding of him and his life and his writing style. Don't limit your reading, especially when you're going to talk about it like you know it well.

I love Edgar Allan Poe... I want to hug his bones, and hug his gravestone. I know almost everything about him because he is my GOD! My favorite stories from him are:
The Raven (my nickname came from that) A Dream Within A Dream The Black Cat The Masque of Red Death Alone Spirts of the Dead A Dream and more but I dont feel like typing all the names!
Some of my favs... I have three versions of the complete stories and peoms from him (yes I know). And of because of him I hate Shakespear because Shakespear gets all the love and Edgar Allan Poe is only mainly popular for The Raven or The Fall of the House of Usher. I know everyting of him I could tell you his life, and his death (what is known). I have the living dead dolls of him and his wife. I trying to get the action figure. And after I read his stuff I wanted to become a writer...
Okay I'm shuting up now...
