Characters are pretty important, no? Without them, what kind of a role play would this be? A boring one, that's for sure.
The easiest way to introduce your characters in a forum like this is to fill out a form (posted below). Just copy and paste into a reply box (be sure to post in this thread) and fill in the blanks. You may play as a staff member, a student, or both. You aren't limited to only one character, nor are you limited to only one gender (it's perfered that the gender ratio stay a bit even, but I understand that this is difficult). Looks (pictures are welcome here): Pale, with medium-toned brown hair, cut long and worn loose outside of class. Tends towards elegant, simple leotards, and never wears jewelery.
Personality: Very cheerful, but almost without warning, can turn cold and logical. She is absolutely besotted with costumes, and owns leotards she'll never wear, sort of like how many girls own clothing they never wear. She has more enthusiasm for Ballet than any other kind, but leaps at the chance to learn anything even remotely connected to dance.
History: An ordinary girl with a long history in the arts - usually literary arts - she's finds herself adoring everything to do with this new art form called Dance.

Character's Name: Estelle Marie Volaju.

Looks (pictures are welcome here): Beige-blonde hair, pale pink skin, and vibrant green eyes. She's a bit on the short side (standing at only 5'2"), and has the look of someone who has been dancing ballet for quite some time.
Personality: Estelle is generally a very quirky girl. She's very knowledgable about certain subjects, and enjoys helping out younger students. Not known for keeping quiet, Estelle is usually heard in the hallways singing various songs at various times. She likes to call it "musical tourettes."
History: Estelle Marie Volaju was born to a French-Canadian father and an Italian-Canadian mother. Although her mother was more Canadian than Italian, Estelle still strongly identifies with Italy, as well as France. She has been taking dance since age three, with only one hiatus from ages 11 to 12 when she injured her ankle.
Types of dance: Ballet, Pointe, and Tap.
Years of study: 13 (3-11; 13-17).
One quirky fact: Speaks fluent French, but only when she's angry.

Looks: She has long, dark "fiery" hair. Her hair reaches about to her hips, and is a dark chestnut that has a bright red-orange sheen in the sun. She is very pale (looks like she's never even heard of the sun) with some faded freckles across her nose and cheeks. Her eyes are green-grey. She is about 5'3" (though she's always up on her toes....), with an athletic build. Though some of the ballerinas have criticized her for her muscled physique, she couldn't care less. She tends towards feis shirts, shorts, and poodle socks. She doesn not normally wear makeup, except for competitions and performances.
Personality: Klee is almost continually happy, and favors sarcasm and biting remarks to being nice to everyone. She's very good at making snap judgments of people, and sticks with them. If she decides she dosn't like you, there's no way to get her to change her mind. She's very nice to people she likes. Klee absolutely hates her skill being held back, and likes to move quickly through material. She gets frustrated at the slightest failure from herself.
History: Klee grew up in a very musical family in California, learning to play mandolin, guitar, fiddle, pennywhistle, and bodhran at a young age, and growing up to the Grateful Dead, bluegrass, and all sorts of fun music. Dance wasn't really encouraged. The family was more interested in art, music, and literature. One fateful day, she saw a Folger's coffee commercial with Irish Dancers in it. From that moment, she was hooked. Her first form of dance was "hippy dancing" at concerts, interestingly enough.
Types of dance: Irish (competitive), Ceili (competitive and non), Set Dancing, Cape Breton Step, Pointe, and Highland.
Years of study: 9
One quirky fact: Despite her aversion to ballet (and about every other dance form) she is very capable en pointe.

Looks (pictures are welcome here): She has dark, long ebony hair with dark colored eyes, in which people have trouble finding her pupils. She is on the pale side, yet not to the point in which she could be mistaken for a lightbulb. She is 5'7" and has difficulty finding partners tall enough to dance with. She hates wearing any sort of skirt out in public except for the wrap skirts used in ballet. She normally wears dark clothing.
Personality: She is shy to those who she she first meets and tends to appear anti-social until you get to know her. She is extremely clumsy once outside of the classroom and, often enough, trips over air. She is a bit ditzy at time, but becomes very serious while dancing and dislikes it when somebody tries to bother her during class and snaps back at them. She has a dry sense of humor and at times may appear cruel by saying a comment meant to not hold any contempt. But, she cares deeply for those who are close to her. She remains passive in most things, but will fight for anything she believes as right. She's a bit self- conscious about herself and feels that she is not as great as the others.
History: She loves literature and to draw (but loathes coloring) . She use to play the violin and the piano. She has been dancing for as long as she can remember (like moving around the kitchen to any music that played) as it is her way to release stress and just let go. But, she started ballet at the age of 3. Jazz came later, at the age of 10. Though, she entered as a new student to the academy after receiving a scholarship. She was previously dancing at a small school close to her home.

One quirky fact: She uses chopsticks to eat ice cream because she insists it tastes better that way.

Looks (pictures are welcome here): Short, curly brown hair that, when put up in a bun, looks like there is a lot more than there really is. Her eyes have been described as "martini olive green" and her skin is pale and will always stay that way, no matter how much time she spends in the sun. She never wears make-up or jewlery (except for the occasional necklace).
Personality: She's a happy person, though she's still very laid back about most things. During dance class, she tends to be more quiet and reclusive. She has the memory span of a goldfish and constantly forgets transitions in combinations, so she gets frustrated easily and yells at herself for her mistakes more than the teachers do. She likes to make friends, but it's difficult because she's so shy.
History: Ever since she could remember, she's wanted to be a ballerina. It was the only dream that she's held onto and never lost passion for. Her parents aren't exactly rich, but they manage to pay her way through school. Never in their wildest dreams did they think their little girl would grow up to be a ballerina. She started taking ballet fairly late (age nine), but her first ballet teacher was the one who showed her that this was something that she really loved and could get really good at.

At the moment it's blonde with purple and orange. She has blue eyes and a lovely smile. She's pretty tall and very thin. Ayslinn doesn't wear a lot of jewels exept for a small necklace that her grandmother gave her. Her chlothing style is kinda punk like with a lot of small skirts and tops with texts like: Punk is alive.  Personality: Ayslinn looks like a pretty normal girl but she's unsure about her dancing and about her body. She has a lot of friends but she hides that she doesn't eat much because she wants to become thinner, though she's already very thin. Ayslinn has put her whole spirit into dancing. History: Ayslinn grew up in a broken family. Her parents hated music and dancing so they never helped her with her study. Only her granny helped her. She also gave Ayslinn the money to go to the acadamy. Her parents always told Ayslinn she was fat and ugly, something that makes her pretty unsure about herself. History: ever since she first saw someone dance, she wanted to be a ballerina. so she begged her dad to take dance classes. Finally when she was 6 her dad gave in and let her take dance. she's been obsessed with it ever since.

Looks (pictures are welcome here): Céline is a very tall women with a beautiful face. She has short blonde hair. All her moves are very graceful. A result of years of dancing.
Personality: Céline is a very dedicated teacher. She loves her students and will do anything to help them gettin better. Sometimes she's a little too busy with the students so the other teacher are sending her off sometimes.
History: Céline came from France to be a student at the academy. After her graduation she travelled to Russia and became a very famous dancer. She danced a lot of leading lady roles like Giselle. During a big show she bruised her ankle and she wasn't able to dance the big shows anymore. She decided to come back to the academy to teach a new generation of dancers. She teaches Ballet and also helps the new students. Showing them the academy.

Looks: Extremely freckly with dark brown eyes and hip length, wavy red hair. Sortof average height, and even though she has danced all her life, is a little curvy. She's still very slim though.
Personality: Dreamy and out of it all the time, sometimes isn't aware that other people are around. Gets all too frustrated with herself constantly, and always wishes that she was better than she is, no matter how good she may get. Very ditzy, but also very smart.
History: She also plays piano very well, better than she dances actually, but she loves dance so much more. She also is an amazing actress and likes to sing, even though she's not incredible at it. Her dream is to someday be on broadway either dancing or something else, but she's very worried that she's not good enough.

ooc: We need to get some boys up in here. So here goes my first male dancer character evar.
Username: High Fidelity.
Character's Name: Ian Douglas Malloy.
Age: 18.
Gender: Male.
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual.
Looks: Ian has dark brown hair, which falls a little below his ears in a thick wavy mess. He can somehow manage to pull it off without looking like a homeless person. His eyes are ice blue, clashing ever so nicely with his dark skin. Although he isn't the tallest of the boys at the school, he still manages to be taller than most of the girls at 5'10", and makes an excellent pas partner.
Personality: It's hard to believe that he's such a nice guy, just because of the way he looks. Ian is very laid back and helpful, and almost comes off as a Link Larkin (Hairspray) type of person. He would rather "go steady" than have a thousand one night stands.
History: Ian was born in Chicago, IL, where he had every opprotunity in the world to make a career in the entertainment world. His parents, already somewhat famous character actors, decided to let him decide what he wanted to do after school. Honestly, what got him into dance in the first place was the girls. At age five he asked his parents if he could take ballet. After a year, he wasn't interested in the girls anymore; ballet was just fun.
At age ten he was allowed to pick up another class, this time choosing hip hop/jazz.
Types of dance: Ballet and Hip hop/jazz.
Years of study: 14 years of ballet, eight years of jazz.
One quirky fact: Can actually sing quite well, and after hanging out with Estelle for so long, as picked up on "musical tourettes." Sometimes they sing duets together in the hallways without realizing it.
Student or Staff: Student, but assists in one of the younger boys classes. Has attended the school since he was seven.

Looks (pictures are welcome here): Finn is a pretty tall guy. He has blonde spikes and he has grey eyes. He's not very handsome but he is a very nice guy.
Personality: Finn loves his friends. He helps them if they are having any kind of trouble. He just love having people around and doesn't like to be alone. He has a very weird sense of humour but nobody realy cares.
History: Finn was born in the Netherlands but moved to the USA when he was 6. He has been taking dance classes since he was three. The kids in his new school thought Ballet was something for girls and bullied him all day. Finn didn't really care. When he was 14 he made his first choreography, it was a big succes. He's new at the academy.
Types of dance: Hiphop, Ballet, Tapdance.
Years of study: none at the academy but 13 years at his local dance school.
One quirky fact: Due to some recent troubles with girls. Finn is a little shy towards new girls.

History: Born in Russia, danced at Madame Atruschka's School of Dance for 5 years (very proud of this) before moving to America when 8. Found move hard and at first found it hard to fit in. She still sometimes feels as though she doesn't fit in

Looks: Cole is thin and wiry, above all. He's athletic, but far from the bodybuilder look. He has a fantastic bone structure with high cheekbones and fine features. He has longish dark auburn hair that is usually quite messy. It seems he has perpetual bedhead hair. He has piercing light green eyes and pale skin. Cole stands at 6'2", and tends to look just as graceful as any ballerina he is dancing with.
Personality: Cole is a bit of a troublemaker, and tends to have a lot of fun when he's around his sister, as they are wonderful at planning pranks together. His sister and him are just about best friends, though, because of their different features and surnames, they tend to look more like boyfriend and girlfriend than brother and sister.
History: Cole was born in Ireland, and moved with his parents to California a few months before his little sister was born. He discovered dance at a preschool, starting with a little bit of ballet. He pouted until he could get lessons, and then switched to Irish by the age of five. After winning the U15 Boy's World Championships, he began going to the academy, as he had stopped competing.
Types of dance: Ballet, Pas de Deux, Irish, and Ceili.
Years of study: 15
One quirky fact: Cole still wears a kilt and waistcoat in competition, though it's not required.
Student or Staff: Student, though he helps his sister teach, especially in ceili.

Looks (pictures are welcome here): Jaclyn is medium height, about 5'8", with a thin but muscular build. She has bright, ice blue eyes and long, dark blonde hair. Her clothes mainly consist of jeans and tank tops. She likes to be comfortable, but still enjoys looking good. Even when not dancing, she moves gracefully, and is also a fast runner.
Personality: She is stubborn, strong-willed, and a bit reckless at times. She's very outgoing and easy to get along with. She is also very determined and never gives up. This is sometimes a problem, as she can be a bit single minded.
History: Jaclyn is half Irish, half Chinese, though the Chinese side barely shows. She was born in Southern California and raised in Palm Springs. She began ballet at the age of nine, and though she started a bit late, she managed to catch up and keep up very well.

One quirky fact: Jaclyn has a condition called synesthesia, which causes her to see colors in the air when she hears sounds, and also gives every letter and number its own color.
