About Nora
Name: Elenora Mousepaw Nickname: Nora Age: 22 Sex: Female
Appearance: At a glance, Nora appears fully human. She has fair skin, silvery hair, and eyes of an indeterminate dark color, framed by . However, her facial features are faintly pointed, rodent-like, and her cheeks sport a lovely spray of silvery whiskers. Furthermore, her shaggy hairstyle only partially covers her mouse ears; her long pink tail hovers just inches above the floor. Overall, she gives off the impression of a small grey field mouse: quick, lively, and intelligent.
Perhaps to make up for her generally monochromatic appearance, Nora tends to wear lots of bright colors. She is prone to knitting colorful caps, socks, and scarves for herself, which she wears no matter the weather. She also regularly wears an assortment of woven and beaded jewelry.
Personality: Nora is a quirky ball of energy. She's talkative, friendly, and full of good spirit. She is often in the middle of several projects at once and counts 'knitting while doing pretty much everything else at once' as one of her talents. Although she may seem flighty, Nora is highly intelligent and creative, as well as possessing a hard head for business.
History: All twenty-two of Nora's years have been spent living in Gaia, first with her parents (in Barton) and later in the upper level of her small arts & crafts shop on the outskirts of Durem. Opening the shop was a concession to her parents, who wanted her to "do something" with her crafts. Apparently, even in Gaia, it's not quite respectable to live with one's parents and do freelance knitting after the age of eighteen.
In any case, Nora started The Mouse's Nest about three years ago. It's not a large shop, but it's successful enough for her to get by, and Nora realized she rather enjoys running a shop.

About Uttara
Name: Uttara Nickname: None Age: Ust || First, infant/child Sex: Female
Rank: Vhaid || "Proud" 'The rank of Vhaid can be divided into two sub groups: the 'true' Vhaid, and the much more common Royals. True Vhaid are the ideal leaders, those most likely to earn a position at the head of the Council. Self-assured but not arrogant, stately, reliable, these Jivvins have a natural knack for gaining one's trust and taking charge of a situation. Royals, on the other hand, are something of a false Vhaid. Royals are extremely proud, haughty, and often rather snobbish. These Vhaid refer to themselves 'true' Vhaid even if they are not, and consider themselves well above those of any other rank, equal only to their own kind. The term 'Royal' is often used as in insult between Jivvins as a result. Royals are fairly common, while true Vhaids are extremely rare. Eggs that are expected to exhibit the true rank are often kept to the Wilds. ' (Jivvin Center)
Appearance: Mostly a dark, pink-ish red. Dark red spots on tail and hindquarters. Limbs fade to an orange/brown. Green eyes. Personality: -coming soon-

The House and Shop
The Mouse's Nest is a small two-storied cottage around the notheastern edge of Durem. The first floor is the shop, filled with shelves and stacked containers of yarn, special fabrics, thread, buttons, beads, ribbon, sequins, sewing supplies, knitting needles and crochet hooks, and pretty much anything else of that nature one could want. The main counter is set in front of the (non-working, due to fire hazard) fireplace, next to which is Nora's favorite arm-chair. When not dealing with customers, the shopkeep can usually be found relaxing there, her latest project across her lap and spread about on the floor. The general atmosphere is that of a home-y (and very cluttered) living room.
The back of the building opens into a small scruffy yard that produces mostly dandelions, violets, and over-grown grass. There is a larger entrance for a deliveries, as well as an enclosed flight of stairs which leads to Nora's apartment on the second floor.
Nora's apartment largely resembles the shop, in terms of art supplies and general clutter. There are two small bedrooms, a single bathroom, living room and eat-in kitchen. Colorful posters and tapestries cover the walls; a collection of small rag rugs overlap in various pathways over the hardwood floor. In short, Nora resides in state of comfortable chaos.

Journal
You'd think I'd be used to things like this by now, considering this is Gaia. But strange things don't generally seem to happen to me. Anyway, I got a delivery this morning, which I was expecting. What I wasn't expecting was for a large reddish... egg... to be tucked in with some of the yarn. It certainly wasn't on the invoice, and when I asked the delivery guy, he said he hadn't seen anything odd.
Anyway, I brought it inside with everything else. There was a paper with it... seems to be a map to some place called the Jivvin Center. Nothing I've ever heard of. It's a bit far, but I should probably get myself (and the egg) over there pretty soon. I really can't imagine why it would be given to me, or in such an odd way... It must have gotten lost somehow.
Otherwise, things are as normal as they ever are around here...
