  This is a private RP between Caelen and Auriga!Clouds. White, fluffy, drifting clouds....
Auriga's eyes opened slowly as she realised she'd been asleep. It was now the middle of the day, and she was staring up at the sky. Rolling up onto her stomach and looking around her, she didn't recognise of remember where she was. She was in a meadow, filled with tall grass. She peeked her head up over the grass and looked around. Rolling hills, but no sign of much else. With a sigh, she dropped her head back down into the grass and looked at the clouds again.
"Another day, where to run....?"

The grass swayed softly back and forth in the gentle blowings of the wind and it took Caelen's firmest mindset not to become distracted by the lulling sway of it all.
"Oi lad, pull yerself tergether an' move on."
A quick and firm shake of his head brought the real and now firmly into place and Caelen began to stroll carrfully through the grass. Not too long ago he'd nearly stepped on a terrified momma-rabbit because he had had no idea of her presence and he'd not been paying a lick of attention. Something peculiar.. Black and white and blue lay up ahead in the grass, probably another unusually colored Soquili.
Stomping a hoof to make his presense known Caelen called out in a friendly greeting, "Oi lad 'er lass, whatcha doin'?"

Auriga jumped and let out a wholey embarassing squeal. Her heart thudded inside her chest as she lifted her head to peek over the long grass again. No wonder she hadn't spotted this Soquili, he ver-near matched the grass around him!
"You startled me!" Auriga called back to him. "And I was attempting to wake up... you've certainly done that for me now, though!"

Blinking carefully Caelen watched the mare, definately a mare, leap around like he'd lit her tail on fire. Honestly, he'd just spoken to her.. maybe he'd not been quiet enough? Next time he met a mare or saw one he was going to creep up and whisper in her ear. The thought made him chuckle softly, with his luck or lack thereof he'd probably whisper hello to a stallion.
"Weeell then..." His tone contemplative, his eyes dancing, "Then ye ought ter thank me fer makin' waking up a bit easier, eh?" Probably wouldn't happen. His mam had called him cocky, he had called it being precocious.

Auriga couldn't help but laugh. She got to her feet lazily, kicking the ground with each hoof to make sure her legs weren't numb. She didn't know how long she's been lying in the meadow, after all.
"I guess I should, stallion...." She looked up at him, feeling awake now and with a smile on her face. "My name is Auriga... sorry to have made such an embarassing noise, I just didn't see you when I looked up a minute ago..."

She carefully stood up before him and Caelen tactfully looked away. Several times he'd been given the evil eye for daring to look at a mare when she stood. Mam had said it was just simply respectful. He called it weird.
Shifting his own weight from one side to the other he considered her words for a few moments before picking his own, "Ye know, Auriga, as manly as bein' called "stallion" makes me feel I think I'd be much happier if ye'd simply call me Caelen." A wise nod accented his statement before looking over the little blue mare in a friendly manner, "I tend ter stick out horrid in some places an' blend in others.. I suppose ye get snipped at when it's dark out, eh?"

Auriga was glad her calling him 'stallion' has prompted an introduction. The majority of stallions never said anything! Did it make them feel 'manly' too?
"Caelen, eh? And yes, I've grown accustomed to not sleeping at night, in case I get stepped on or worse!" She chuckled slightly and looked around.
"What brings you to this meadow, Caelen?"

Hm.. was that a bit of a smile on the somber mare's face? Right now it was difficult for him to tell if she was a friendly, quiet, loud, nice, or mean mare. Essentially, he had figured out one thing... Mare. That in and of itself could be dangerous as he either got along merrily with soquilis or one of 'em ended up bloodied.
"Aye, s'what me mam's called me when I wasna "devil child"." Chuckling softly before speaking again, "Ahh.. weell we can swap horror stories. As a colt I recall being woken up more'n once ter a sharp tug-chewing of me hair. The ole goats, I mean elders, would be grazin' an give me a n** in their reverie."
"I've been lookin' fer a mare an' stallion this last month er so.. but now it's time fer me ter give up the hunt."

Auriga listened with her head cocked to the side. His accent certainly was an interesting one! Sometimes, she had to listen a little harder to catch a few words.
"I didn't often get eaten, but a swift kick or two was dealt when I was a child! Accidental, of course..." She laughed.
"Giving up? Because you can't find them, or other reasons?" Auriga's tilted her head a little further in curiousity. She wasn't used to looking for anyone since Kai, and now that was over, she didn't look much at all.

His own ego fed itself quite contentedly on her willingness to listen to him. Of course, that could be because she didn't follow along with what he had to say with as much ease as he did for her.
"Weell, I'd rather lose a chunk 'o me hair than get a swift kick 'er four. But me vanity never minded bein' less handsome. Perhaps some mares would rather recieve blows than simply have ter lose a piece 'o their hair." Probably ought to soften his reasoning or recieve a kick, "Not that yer like that lass, jest that some are.
"It's a long story. Essentially I'm lookin' fer the potential parents of a basket that was found abandoned out in the barrens. Me hermate, Lovey Dovey, has been keepin' watch while I looked 'round." It was a bit of a morbid story to tell, but the parents deserved a fair chance at their child before Lovey and hhe could keep it.

Auriga dropped her head and half-looked at her mane. "I wouldn't like to lose chunks out of it... i don't think bald mares are quite the favourite of most stallions!" She laughed slightly and flicked her mane back from her face.
Auriga couldn't help but look shocked. "An abandoned basket? Really?! Oh, the poor foal inside... it must be terrified...!"
Auriga wasn't terribly maternal, but she didn't like to think or anyone being left behind, especially not a child.
"It as least good of you to be looking for the parents... although it must be a hard decision, not knowing if it was abandoned deliberately or not..."

Watching the mare while she examined her mane he nodded wisely and tried not to sigh. Most stallions were pure and raging morons. Making mares thing they needed to have a set amount of hair to be wanted. "Lass, if ye have ter worry what a stallion likes he's nae worth the effort, eh?"
"Aye, abandoned it was. The babe inside is a bit unusual as it glows with blue flames. When we found it they were nearly extinguished. I imagine Lovey's got 'im 'er her burning brightly by now."
His own heart was firmly aligned with family and nothing in his mind could easily tear that bond. Sure it could be done, but it took alot.
"I had ter look. If they were injured and had ter go away from the babe then it'd nae be fair ter take the babe away. Unfortunately with what I found, nothin', and being placed in the outskirts of the barrens I canna doubt that it was meant ter die."

Auriga smiled at Caelen's kind comment. She did hope that her future mate wouldn't leave her if for some reason she lost her mane! Although the idea of being bald didn't sound too great.
Auriga felt sad as he told her where he had found the basket. She suddenly stamped her foot angrily. "That's no way to treat a newborn! Whether it was planned or not, there are plenty of familes who are unable to have young who would have taken it as their own!" She snorted, not quite sure why this riled her up so much. Was if because she, too, had been abandoned and grown up alone? Sure, she was lucky enough not to be bitter or withdrawn, but not all would grow up as positive as she.
Auriga sighed slightly and shook her head. "At least the foal will be in safe hands, regardless...." She looked to the ground. She wasn't a big fan of people seeing her sad.

Well, thankfully he wasn't being thrown back into a situation where he had to figure out if the right or wrong thing had been said. Generally a smooth-enough talker, Cael didn't particularly enjoy having to charm or dance through topics. Blunt was much easier.

This land was almost too strange for him sometimes, did everybody take care of their young here or was it more likely to see a foal wandering alone? He'd eat his hat, he would if his foal decided to live alone.
An understanding smile played along his lips and the stallion nearly sighed, sometimes women got overemotional and needed things put into perspective. "Ahh, but what's the use o' dwellin' on the past lass? The foal's in safe care an' I've a feelin' it's only complaint in life'll be too much parentin' an' not enough alone time!"

Auriga couldn't help but laugh slightly as she looked back up at Cael with a smile. "This is true... regardless, it'll be ok now..."
She gave herself a shake and looked around. "So... since you're planning on not hunting, how about a walk somewhere? I don't have anything planned for the day, and company is always nice..." She looked back at him.
