The tan and blue pup was running about, her tail wagging behind her as she ran among the trees, jumping over the spots where the light was getting through the trees. She had changed her usual game a little so that instead of a monster coming if she stepped into the light that each light spot was too hot to step on and a fire would cover you and burn you to ashes in seconds. She had such lovely games.
She wasn't expecting to see anyone today and nor did she really mind. She loved playing with her imagination nearly as much as she loved playing with others. It didn't really matter who was with her or where she was she could make a game out of nearly anything.

Mars dashed through the trees trailing leaves behind him. His small, puppyish form skidded under, over and around logs and trees, big paws barely touching the ground. He enjoyed racing and chasing across the forest, making a challenge of every twist and turn. His tongue lolled out, his ears back, the very picture of youthful exuberance. The pups fur stood out a mile in the dense green of the forest but he couldn't care less. He was out in the forest, not a care in the world and intent only on having fun.
It wasn't often he wandered away from his mother at his age but he had come to realise that he had the freedom to do so. His mother wouldn't stop him going out so long as he didn't go too far. She even encouraged himself and his siblings to take a wander. Preferably as a group but often Mars found it was himself and Mercury who would go off together. The brothers were, in fact, almost inseperable.
Mercury was a little more solid on his feet than Mars and plodded afterwards with an easy, lolloping pace. He didn't tend to run flat out as often as his little brother but found he could often run far longer. He also tended to pay a little more attention to his surroundings and despite being the quieter of this dastardly duo was by far the more observant.
It was he, in fact, who noticed the flash of blue in a beam of sunlight. Ears pricked up he slowed to a halt. With a quick yelp to the back end of the black and orange pup in front of him he plodded the way he had spied the odd colour. Quickly, he was overtaken by Mars as the other rushed ahead of him as always, eager to be at the sight of any action.
Mars skidded to a halt when the strange pup came into view. He had never met another pup other than his siblings but this did not stop him charging forward. "Hiiii" he called out, his naturally gregarious nature shining through.
Not exactly more cautious but a little quieter in nature Mercury sidled up behind his brother. "Hey.." he added, a little shyly, looking at the strange female pup. All of his siblings were fawn, black, orange or some colour in between. He had never seen a blue wolf before...
(( Oh god those two colours look horrible together... @@ I may have to find ones which don't look so hellish if I'm gonna RP this pair together often.. ))

She hadn't seen them as she had been far too interested in her game as after all the game was the most important thing at the moment. If she stepped in sunlight she would die!
She then hear the sound of another wolf in mid jump and landed in the sunlight, she gave a yelp and jumped out again. She landed then laid on the ground quickly, rolled over a couple of times and then looked at the boys.
"Your upside down!" She laughed, her legs sticking up in the air as she laid on her back.
"Odd pups you are. Never met upside down pups before." She chuckled again and fell so she was laying on her side.
"Oh hi, I'm Icer by the way!" She would no try to avoid the fact that they obviously weren't upside down but she could have been so sure that they were for some reason.

"Weeee're not upside down, you are!" Mars protested, galloping forward as the blue-toned pup fell onto her side. "See!?" he said, nudging at her. "My feet're on the ground, yours are in the air!" he nibbled at her paws in a playful way as if to prove his point. Mars was of a practical mind and more than a little prone to being a know-it-all. His little tail was going at double-speed, though, happy he'd found someone new.
"I'm Mars, this is Mercury" the black and orange pup motioned to himself and his brother. "Did you come on an adventure too?" Maia, their mother, liked to travel and had always made an 'adventure' of them when they moved to someplace new.
Mercury stumbled forward, not sure what to make of the strange upside-down-but-not-really pup. His tail also wagged cheerfully but he refrained from pouncing forward as his brother did, preferring to come by a bit slower, take time to look at and get the scent of this new pup. He was sure there was something familiar about her scent but didn't know why. He had no idea of knowing his mother had met Icer's father and a little of the scent had passed on that way.
With a small grin he sat down next to Icer, nodding slightly when his brother announced his name.

Icer tilted her head at the boys and stuck her tongue out playfully.
"I am Icer!" She smiled, her tail wagging happily behind her. She looked at the two boys and then stared at the shyer one of the two.
"Can you talk? You said one word!" One word obviously meant you couldn't talk. She was a little curious at the odd pups and then she jumped onto her feet and nodded her head happily.
"I always go on adventures! I meet lots of scary monsters and I fight them! I always win because I'm cleverer then them!" She smiled, her speech not perfect but then she was only a small pup.

Mercury suddenly felt somewhat under scrutiny. "I uh.. yes." he stumbled over his words a little, unused to being questioned by anyone so vigorously. His siblings took it for granted that he was quiet and didn't pressure him much and his mother was usually rather a lot more gentle in her questioning so the poor pup was a bit flustered. "I can talk fine." he said quietly.
Mars, no longer the center of attention, jumped back into the conversation pushily "We do too!" he exlaimed. "We fight monsters and hunt them and even EAT them sometimes!" he overexaggerated in the way the young generally do - once he and Mercury had found a dead mouse and had plaed at 'hunting' it. They boys also made up evil foes they had to vanquish but the pair had each other to wrestle more often and so didn't so often resort to imagination.

Icer was about to say something when Mars jumped back in the conversation and he caught her attention instantly. "You fight monsters too? Cool! I haven't met anyone else who does, they think I am crazy!" Her tail was wagging a lot behind her. This was great, she met two pups who enjoyed the things that she did!
"What kind of monsters do you kill and eat? I wouldn't want to eat any of them I don't think that they could taste too nice." Not only that she knew they were all in her mind and eating something in her mind seemed to only confuse her. She wasn't too bothered though, these were the most interesting pups she had met so far!

Mars took the oppertunity to show off. "They're HUGE!" he exlaimed, bouncing forward playfully, his tail wagging frenetically. "With big teeth, and claws!" he mimed swiping at Icer. "But they're nothing compared to us, eh Mercury?" he grinned over his shoulder at his older sibling before looking back to Icer. She was so unlike his sisters. He grinned. "Maybe we could all hunt monsters together?!"
Mercury nodded enthusiastically, as always going along with what Mars said. He did love fighting monsters and imagined foes but wasn't used to talking about them with anyone besides the rambunctious black and orange pup. "Yeah we always beat 'em" he added, becoming a little more comfortable as he talked. " 'nd they don't always taste good but we have to make sure we get rid of them or they'll come back for us." he nodded solemnly, as if it was a serious task he had been given to rid the world of monsters for pup-kind.

Icer's tail wagged enthusiastically while she listened to the brothers. "Wow they sound really scary!" She laughed a little and then nodded "I want to go hunting monsters, lets go! You can show me your moves!" She giggled a little at the thought of hunting monsters with someone else seemed odd.
"I don't normally eat monsters, they are yucky so I will leave them to you!" She still couldn't understand how they could eat monsters, the ones she saw were covered in razor sharp spikes and poisonous scales. Icer had a very active imagination.

Mars' tail wagged in tandem with Icer's his rear almost being pulled back and forward with it. "I bet there's loooaaads of monsters about here we can hunt!" he exclaimed, jumping about as if to find the silent enemies all around. He could see a path through the forest - likely one made by some small animal on it's daily foragings - and tore towards it. "This waaay!" he yelled, full of the exhuberance of youth.
Mercury was taken aback by his brothers sudden departure. He blinked his green eyes slowly, his body taking a little while to catch up with his mind. Suddenly his legs kicked in and he was haring after the black and orange streak which was dissappearing into the forest. "Wait for me!" he called.

Icer wagged her tail and let out a small bark before following the brothers. This was going to be so much fun! "Wooo! Lets go!" She loved to be around other pups, the fun they could have chasing monsters that didn't really exist. Icer was having the time of her life, she had found friends with the same odd imagination as herself.

Mars stopped dead and dropped to his belly, ears pricked forward and alert. He wiggled along the grass, hissing loudly "Keep down, there's one right aheaddd!" If this had been a proper hunt whatever they'd been stalking would likely have run off the second he crashed through the brush but the prey they stalked conformed to their own rules.
Mercury almost skidded into Mars as his brother stopped short. His claws gripped the ground at the last moment though and he came to a stop just short of the other pup. He looked behind him for Icer, grinning, then turned back to his brother "What do yah see?" he asked excitedly.

Icer followed, her tail wagging behind her. She was so excited! She lowered herself as the boys did and creeped slowly forward. Her eyes staring ahead as if she could already see what was there though obviously there was nothing.
She waited, looking at each of the boys before turning back to the spot where the monster was. She would rip it up she would! She would get her teeth into it and tear it to shreds!

Any adult wolf would have smiled to see it - three young pups staring and ready to pounce at an invisible enemy. It as the usual way of pups to pretend to stalk make-believe enemies and then perhaps small animals and critters who came under their curious gaze. To Mars at least, though, this was serious business! They were tracking monsters and making sure they didn't... do stuff. Yeah.
His rump wiggled into the air as he made ready to pounce - an orange and black flag which would have given him away to anyself-respecting herbivore usually preyed on by wolves but as he leapt he imagined his enemy's back was to him. "attttaaackkk" he called joyously as he pounced, not waiting for any detailed explanations of tactics or ideas. That was the realm of slow-poke adults, this was the realm of pups.
Leaves exploded around him as Mars landed in a pile of last autumn's litter, the light breeze picking them up and swirling all around. The monster was in here somewhere. He let a playful growl out while he grabbed bunches of leaves in his mouth. He'd the get the monster, he would!
Mercury was only seconds behind, enthusiastically wagging his tail. If his brother said there was a monster here then there must be. Despite being somewhat more serious minded than his brother, Mercury was nonetheless easily buoyed by Mars infectious good humour. It had gotten them into trouble in the past - Mars' enthusiasm matched with Mercury's serious mind - but the inserperable pair worked well together and would perhaps one day be a force to be reckoned with.

Icer ran after him, she still wasn't sure what type of monster they were dealing with but the boys moved so she did. She pounced and barked a few times before she also had a bunch of leaves in her mouth. She shook her head back and forth, leaves falling from her mouth but she didn't care. Die die die! Thats all that mattered. The monster had to die.
She dropped the leaves once she was sure he was gone and pounced a branch on the floor which she started to chew on while shaking her head. Oh she would show this evil monster!
