So they get told oceanic flight 815 has been found on the coast of Bali and there were no surviors, also that all the bodies were found there... what if (it's quite a stretch)... they were never on flight 815 and actually brought to the island? That would explain why Ben didn't seem terribly surprised about their arrival and gave very clear orders to specific people.

But then that raises more questions, like, what plane were they on if it wasn't flight 815? And did Jacob want them all?

EDIT: Scrap that. Since watching the last episode I've decided that saying they found the plane was just a ruse. They will of told everyone they found the plane and bodies so nobody else would look for the island.

Which then raises more questions if the writters have already ruled out the island being some kind of afterlife... oh well I'll see what the final episode of season three has to say... see if that clears things up a bit more...
