Seriously, Ted, a man who can literally reduce a human to ash in the blink of an eye, just hung there for at least 10 seconds before Sylar even talked to him, and at least another ten before he started cutting his head open.
Why didn't he fry him? Or at least make the attempt to?
Yeah, Sylar is bad a** and all, but this is AT LEAST the second time he should be dead but isn't. You don't just walk up within a few feet in front of a man that can go Hiroshima when in distress and admire him for a few moments before killing him. YOU DO IT RIGHT THE ******** AWAY. Or you sneak up behind him and do it quick, before he can react. Because really, Ted was one fo the most powerful heroes in the entire show. Even with all his other powers, Sylar still didn't match his one power in terms of raw, destructive power, no ones power has to date. Ted was a bad mo-fo and every one knows it.
Him going down that easy was, in my opinion, a cop out on the part of writers, getting the loose end that was Ted out of the picture. Sylar and Peter are supposed to be the only powerhouses, having a guy whose one power trumped all of their combined did not fit that description very well.

I was also surprised that Ted died so easily. But then after I stopped and looked at it from another angle, it didn't irk me so much.
Ted was just in a huge car accident. He had no idea what was going on, and was likely in a state of shock. I know I would be.
When Sylar approached, Ted was babbling about being upside down, and other such nonsense a person would chatter about after being in an accident, and somewhat in shock. Ted probably just though Sylar was some dude who would help him out. The crash put him off guard.

Ted was just in a huge car accident. He had no idea what was going on, and was likely in a state of shock. I know I would be.

yeah, but I think the part where he started cutting into his skul would have snapped him out of it. And even without thinking he should have started to go nuclear from the pain. The last time he was in a great amount of pain, being shot, he started to go off without control. Sylar would have been, who was standing right next to him, would have been blown off his feet and like 20 feet away on his a** on just the first wave of energy.

Unless of course, where the powers are linked to the brain, the pressure in that area effected his ability to use his power. Or it could just be shabby writing lol

I know!!! And well Heroes is a great show but there are some nonsense things going on there... Like well when Hiro stabbed Sylar. All rigth I know that Hiro at that time was a Badass still he doesn't have Flash powers. I think that Sylar could've easily dodged that attack.
And what about Peter still having the scar on the future... He saved the chearleader.... Now why the hell he still has it!!! xp

And in regards to the future, not everything was changed. Some things changed, but since Hiro jumped into the future before the events of the season finale, not everything was altered. Some of the changes had begun, but not everything had altered. It is like an alternate reality.

Or maybe he knew that going hiroshima would kill many more than just Sylar.
