Not expected at all!!!
Out of 18 people trying out, i just made one of two empty spots! I'm still in shock!
Lets see...
-no more heavy Bari Sax
-No more mismatched pairs of gloves
-cooler, black uniform
-Spikey hair with sparkles in it
-SHINEY DINKLES!!!
-no more annoying freshman josh...

Congrats on making drum major! :]
I tried out with thirty other people for drum major at my school. I made it to the final nine. Sadly, I placed ninth out of nine for drum major.
We have three drum majors, and we may have close to three hundred members in our band next year.
What did you have to do in your audition process?

I've just made my second year as Drum Major, so I'm pumped too! =D ((It's not garunteed here.)) But we don't have any Juniors this year so it's xP.
Are you going to a Drum Major Camp/Academy?

Awesome. My brother made drum major this year.
And it's my first year in marching band doing a show... I did parades in 7th grade and all that good stuff so it's pretty exciting. >w<

I made drum major, too.
It's an awesome feeling until you look at the scores and realize you don't play any of it. Ever.

congratz man...sax playing DM here too. Looking forward to it. I think I'm gonna miss marching a little, but the advantages of being drum major outweigh that...by a lot, lol

eek I am so nervous to be a drum major i mean what if mess up on my salute or fall over while conducting because i get very into it and get cought up some times or what if i get tired during a competition. gonk
There is so much pressure to be good and i don't want to let the band down so i will have to do my best and hope i don't screw up. stressed
